Ryan Stevenson brings with him a wealth of experience and the mutual respect of his peers. I think its a great signing for the club and shows our intentions of not just making up the numbers. Archie has demonstrated that he can be active and successful in the transfer market. This signing also brings with it a feel good factor for the fans and the players. Hopefully Archie has his eyes on some more players to bring in. I don't think king lyle will be back as much as I would love him to return, so another striker would be positive, and of course a left back to replace ATS, a centre back would be helpful possibly to get us through the season like mr mair last season. Archie knows what he is looking for at the back and i believe he will get who he wants. other than that still fantastic to be a jags fan.

Paul Gallacher's form has been exemplary since he took over from Scotty Fox. I think Scott Fox is an excellent keeper and definitely worth keeping on board at thistle, he seemed to drop in form as soon as he was selected in the Scotland squad, which is strange but their is no doubting the positive impact he has had on our team (last season and also this season), with some memorable saves. He is a true pro and I believe he will be disappointed with his turn in form and being left out of the first team and he will come back fighting. I also think that he bleeds yellow and red and is a jag. I would be very sad to see him leave the club, because on our budget we aint going to pick up a keeper as good as him. Lawless, will probably go, but to be honest I don't think he is going to get signed by a top flight club. Stevie has been one of my favorite players for a few season and is a great we player. Erskine won't be allowed to stay. I think that is quite clear from Ratnamara. I would rather not have Elliot or Craigen next season as quite frankly I do not believe they are good enough at this level which I know we will be competing at!!! (mon e jags) I realise i aint that insightful but hey

county are rank, seriously rank. If we take the game to them and get erskie, higgy and taylor running at them they will shit themselves and we will win. I cant see Stevenson coming to Thistle. If we can get Welshy back up to speed and injury free for the rest of the season, we can rest easy at night. For the first part of the season he was our stand out player and is the leader we so badly miss at the moment. I really like Paul Cairney and i would have him back in a heart beat, i think this is more worth perusing than Stevenson. If Higgy is out Cairney is more or less a straight swap, and he has been playing top flight football for a couple of seasons and will add another more experienced head. Also he was a firhill favourite! Come on home son

great news about Gary Fraser returning to Firhill. He is not on loan this time he is a thistle player! great work Archie. Great news for the club to have Gary back, i believe he has learned a lesson from his little hiccup, now he needs to push on and become a thistle star. He obviously likes whats going on at the club, because as soon as he left back to Bolton he wanted back at thistle. I hope that this is not the last archie is going to bring in, still think we require a bit more depth if at all possible. good news though

I agree with you man, i think when stevie plays in the hole he is at his most dangerous. If not lawless then it may be interesting to see how dools fairs in the hole aswell. it would enable him to a have a free role that does not have as much pressure as the lone striker role he has been playing all season. I think either of the options is worth a look. Archie really needs to start getting some players in and putting pen to paper. Dean Shields is a nice player, if we can afford him. My morton mate says he is going to them. Which for me is ridiculous, if they can get him then we should be able to at least get him on loan till the end of the season. I would rather have a shot with him than miss out. Ross County have done some good business, i cannot comment on the standard of the players that they have brought in because i dont know any of them. We really need 3 points on saturday and the boys need to show some of that fighting spirit that we showed last season. Ross County are as good as Morton where last season, so we can beat them. However they have that little bit more top flight experience that we so desperately require. Mark Kerr, if he plays needs to pull his weight, and on the showings of himself this season he has not done that at all. On e jags

Forbes has been a real disappointment this season. Ok he is not getting picked to start regularly, however when he is introduced to the game he looks sluggish and just plain rank. We do not need a player like that at our club. He needs to chip in or chip out in my opinion. He has done himself no favours.

Marco I agree with you on the Tony Watt front. He may be a bit of an idiot but he will soon realize that being a wee bam aint going to get him playing in the top leagues which he desires. Lennon doesn't want him back but i am not sure he would want to play against Watt. I think he is a useful player and that finish on the video you posted (i think its the second goal?) is exactly what we need at the moment. We dont have a player that has that strength to shrug off the defender and smash the ball into the back of the net. With the arrival of Taylor, I agree with another posters comment that ; Farid is now not a viable option, which is a same. I also believe that although it would be nice to have Watt, I dont think he is going to be and option either. Also its a great shame that we have lost Fraser, i really liked the way he played and the edge he gave us.

Totally agree with you man. Everyone needs to just calm the **** down. Sack Archie? right, if thats a good idea. who are you all putting forward for the job? who knows the players and the setup, who will save us from going down? who is that person? dont need all of the negativity i love my team and i will support them whether they are winning or loosing. Then naysayers need to get over themselves and get behind archie and the boys.

Lady isobel, I totally agree with you. McGuigan has been sent out on loan to develop as a striker, not any other position. he should be getting the opportunity to develop this skill. Also I would not say, on the times I have seen him play that he is ready to step up to the 1st team at any point next season. I would feel a bit more comfortable if he was playing first team football as a striker in the 1st division (championship) and with some success. Duggan as the manager has said is not ready yet, his injury is obviously hampering his progress but it might be wise to load him out to a first team club and develop his experience with the hope he comes good and can get a 1st team shout.

If we can get 75k for ATS then that is fantastic business. We know that he is likely to go at some point, but to receive a hefty payment such as this is great for Archie. This money alone could help us buy a couple of half decent players that we most definitely need. Shame to see ATS go, but ach well....

Personally if Jordo MacMill is fit he needs game time and this would be an opportunity to give him a big test and time to get back to who i believe is one of our best players. I agree with the rest of the lads on here we need to show some hunger and spirit to get up into their faces. It will be tough, but we can most definitely get a result. A wee run in the cup and a game against the govan manky mob would be special. Mon the jags!

I would like to see us bring in a striker with a bit more physical presence about him, to hold up the ball and look for Dools or Baird's movement. Plus getting onto the end of crosses into the box. Gabby is not good enough for the Premiership, so I do believe we need another centre back. By the looks of things ATS is going to leave us. So we may need a left back. Muirhead has had a couple of off days but actually he is a great defender and a true jag! Same applies for Conrad. MacMillian will come good, folk need to give him time he has been out for a while. If Ozzy and Welshy are out of the team at the same time then we are in big trouble. We have Kerr but he has not had many games. So perhaps another defensive midfielder would be handy.

Dundee Utd away is a tough game for any team in the top flight at the moment. Having Jordon Macmillian back is essential not just for this tie but for the whole season. When he played against Dunfermline on the last game of last season he scored a peach of a goal. He is far more direct than SOD. I think he also possess bags of experience that we could really do with at the moment. I would also like to see Archie utilize Mark Kerr in the middle of the park if Welshy is oot. Ozzy is now a mainstay i would say. Maybe not in this game but perhaps in the scottish cup tie, Archie should try a 4-4-2, with Duggan from the u21's who is scoring goals. I realise that it would be a massive step up but we should be bleeding these young ones in as an when we can as our resources are clearly limited. He is scoring goals, on a high perhaps thats what we need. Dools upfront alone does not work...yes he can bang in goals as we have seen this season but he really needs a physical presence along side him to really start hitting the net. Lawless was fantastic and dangerous at the start of the season, however he is in a little bit of a low at the moment. With him back on top form we will win games. I really rate Ross Forbes, however as someone has previously mentioned he can look as if he really can't be bothered. He just needs to begin starting a few games. I think he is a game changer along with Higgy. Its worth a punt. Whoever said that we should sign Nacho Novo is a ****. Pish. forget it! Derek Riordon??????? why not....its worth a punt.
