Squad For 24/25 Season (And Signing Rumours)
madcapmilkdrinker replied to Fawlty Towers's topic in Main Jags forum
Performed when it mattered. Bye Blair and best of luck. -
Really interesting to see what’s happening here, and curious for a personal reflection from any TJF board members as to how they react if we received a proposal similar to Motherwell’s.

Squad For 24/25 Season (And Signing Rumours)
madcapmilkdrinker replied to Fawlty Towers's topic in Main Jags forum
Look, let’s admit it, we’re all secretly, or not so secretly, a little bit in love with Kris aren’t we? What a guy. 😍 -
Personally, I’ve never been prouder to be a Thistle fan and sleep easily at night knowing that my monthly pledge is (a) in good hands and (b) does a whole lot more good for the team I support than endless sniping on a football forum. Thanks TJF.

Leaving aside whether you stood to personally profit from this mooted takeover, and your relentless promoting of it at the time made me think was the case, the fact that you still refer to it positively makes me seriously question your cognitive function. Give me a club, men’s, women’s and youth football that’s invested in by its community, and by that I mean Jags fans worldwide like me, over a soulless hedge fund takeover any day. What was so attractive to you, other than personal profit, over turning Thistle into a feeder club for English and European clubs anyway? How does that satisfy anyone other than investors who have no idea about Thistles history or community? Bizzare.

Credit to Doolan for changing it around, albeit obvious and necessary.

Still can’t beat Raith, but at least we’re still in it. Team did well not to drop their heads after a poor first half but could have easily equalised in the second. Service to Graham, and balls in to the box, was terrible all night.

The memory of last year’s playoff catastrophe/ clusterf*ck /living nightmare still burns vividly, but what is following a team if not the willingness to suspend disbelief? ‘Mon the Jags and safe travels to all supporters. Give a cheer for the exiles who’d love to be there.

Someone start a thread about fan ownership vs the traditional model.
-
Entertaining and free. I’d be in favour of the TJF sponsoring this program, as the East Fife supporters association do, so that highlights and interviews could be free for Jags fans worldwide. Obviously I have zero idea if this is financially feasible. 😇

Thistle v Dunfermline 23rd Feb 2024
madcapmilkdrinker replied to CotterJag's topic in Main Jags forum
Now that would be an audacious move by Dools. -
Just a gentle reminder that the great defender of all things Thistle, jj, was desperately flogging the idea that we should turn into a feeder club for Barnsley and Nice a few years back. I never understood at the time why he was prosecuting this case so vehemently, but I always wondered if he stood to financially gain personally if it went through.
-
Why were the Jags Foundation making side eyes signing imminent noises on Twitter a few days back? Surely a loan of one of ours doesn’t constitute signing news? 🤣
-
Who is the benevolent benefactor who funds it now?
-
I’ll take that as a no. So, to get this straight, you want us to expand our fan base by stopping funding the women’s and youth set ups. Hmm, I can see some inconsistency here. And please don’t quote what Lambie said or did, it’s irrelevant in 2024. As you increasingly seem to be yourself.
-
So you don’t support the money the Board allocate to the women’s team? Just want to clarify that.
-
I simply disagree with that. What are your thoughts on the money the club spends on the women’s team?
-
His current manager scored a few from that range. 😉
-
Given his vigorous prosecution of the case for venture capitalists to buy the club a few years back, the fact that JJ is now all about financial rigour and transparency amuses me no end.
-
How did McBeth look?
-
I do. But more importantly I also now trust that the board isn’t going to sell off the club and any assets to an unknown venture capitalist.
-
I’d hope @Jordanhill Jagis a TJF member, subs paid for with HIS OWN CASH, before he’s afforded that opportunity.

Is it just me that thinks it might get complicated seeking written approval. (from the trustees) of a managers, or CEO for that matter, contract if it’s over £50K?
