  1. I really don't see what is divisive about letting Celtic getting seats in the JHS that the Thistle support wouldn't need.
  2. Are you talking for all the fans here,Grant ? There were 600 that signed the petition about the NS way back(me included), but the decision has no impact on whether I will continue to support the club. There has been a lot said about missing revenue opportunities with regards to TAG, DVD's and Centenary fund. Celtic will more than likely sell out their additional allocation. Neither Aberdeen or Hearts did.
  3. How many more will be there than say, the DU game and how much extra will the policing and stewarding be for the Celtic match. If you have details about that, then I guess you can say my comment is complete nonsense. If not then your view is just an opinion, like mine.
  4. Is it really such a terrible thing that is being done here. The cost of policing and stewarding the Celtic game is likely to be higher than your normal game, so it is in my opinion a valid commercial decision to increase the price. On the downside, it probably should have been made clear at the start of the season and I agree that U16's should get in free. Allocating the StJ game to redeem the voucher is also a pretty decent decision as this is likely to be a game where there aren't so many away supporters. Trying to boost the attendance in any way is a good thing, whether it is from Thistle fans who don't normally go or from some of the Celtic fans who want to get a cheap game. I am not sure what the long term affect is likely to be. Are we really going to lose supporters for the sake of a fiver ?
  5. Didn't notice it last night, but why was SOD running back pointing for someone else to keep with Craig, when he was nearest and Muirhead had the other guy covered.
  6. You can understand the guys sentiment though. We lost another simple goal and I thought the heads went down. Doolan s one on one miss was criminal. If our best striker is missing chances like that, it is no wonder that a pessimistic viewpoint is creeping in. The players have a tough job on their hands and they will need to keep working hard.
  7. Just go to the game(if you can) and you don't need to listen to him.
  8. Having just watched the game on alba, I don't think any of the players deserve criticism for the performance. As has been said Bannigan has been a bit off in the last couple of games, but was involved a lot yesterday. I didn't see anything wrong with SOD's performance. Dools deservedly man of the match closely followed by Conrad and Osbourne, who definitely adds a bit of muscle. Really think we are a match or better than 7 or 8, and don't have any fears for the Hibs match.
  9. Practise corners and free kicks and get SOD and ATS to practise crossing
  10. In both the Hearts game and the Killie game, their best player was the keeper. Scored 3 at Ross County and 2 at St Mirren.
  11. Aberdeen aside, I think we have been making loads of clear cut chances. We have only not scored in 3 games this season, whereas there has only been 1 game that the opposition hasn't scored. I am undecided whether the priority is shoring up the defence or whether it is improving our chance to goals ratio.
  12. Was looking to see if I could see the last set of accounts somewhere and noticed that Maxi was appointed to the board at the start of Sept. By the way does anybody have the accounts that they can share ?
  13. I watched the game again on catch up and it just struck me how similar that game was to the Hearts game. We were all over them in the 1st. Our goal was a pen and they equalised when one of our guys was hobbling. Although we need to start taking more of the many chances we are making, we also need to start having more shut outs - only 1 in 7 isn't great.
  14. Disappointed with the result, but not with the performance, apart from 15 to 20 at start of 2nd half. The defence seemed to panic a bit after they scored, but the introduction of Elliot(who had 4 good attempts) got us back into it. I think we are just not getting the rub of the green at the moment. Pretty much everyone, I thought, was back to their usual in the 1st half except Higgy who had a quiet day and again Bannigan who didn't seem interested in the 2nd half. Lawless after a decent 1st half, fell out of it in the 2nd. Maybe teams at this level are better able to adjust and snuff out the dangerous players.
  15. Last season Hibs finished in 7th place with 51 points and 37 points is the highest that bottom have achieved since the split was introduced. So even if Hearts go on a blinding season 38 should be enough to finish 10th.
  16. Aye, but another unusual fact is that a team has started on minus 15 this season
  17. You are absolutely right Willjag - but are you saying that he hasn't made more mistakes this season than last. For me he hasn't been so sharp and has been caught in possession more often and has been bullied off the ball more.
  18. Reading between the lines of Archie's post match report, it was a surprise that Welsh started the season so strongly as he hadn't had too much preseason.I think this last injury has put him back too much. I would be surprised to see him start on Sat. Also based on Saturday and the reports from St M and Motherwell, Osbourne has been the pick of the midfield, so he will probably start. Lawless and Bannigan haven't been so impressive so far this season - maybe one of them could do with dropping to the bench. I am glad I am not the manager
  19. Problem is - when was the last time McMillan played.
  20. Got in no problem at all. I was pretty early though an there was no one behind the turnstile
  21. Problem is that it affects the others too.
  22. Kind of hard to say - we didn't hav that much of the ball. When we did, we tried to play it out from the back - but there was no outlet to SOD and ATS as they were marked out the game. Played ball into mid who were pressed hard. On a few occasions resorted to long ball, which didn't work either. We were well snuffed out, I am afraid. I think our guys need to get into the gym to muscle up
  23. The most noticeable thing for me today, was just how much bigger their players were. Zola and Magennis made Muirhead and Piccolo look skinny. Also, Aberdeen just didn't give us time on the ball. We need to just keep doing he business against teams that are likely to be around us - The 2 saints, Killie and Ross County and maybe Hibs and Hearts. Lets not get too worried about results agains the others this season.
  24. seems he didn't pull out - he was sent home( according to the match preview)
  25. Ok, so more emphasis on defence vs the above average teams and a bit more attack minded vs the below average teams. Both these strategies have risks but this is maybe the way to go for now to build confidence.
