From those highlights, it looks like we had plenty of chances in the 2nd half, whereas at the game I thought Raith had more chances. I wonder what the ref said to the players at the McGuigan "penalty" incident. That would clear up whether he played advantage or didn't think it was a penalty

Don't remember being tickets for either of those games,or for that matter, the Raith game at Firhill. We're they not all pay at he gate ?

I know it is exciting watching Thistle this year, but lets not start counting chickens- there are still over 20 games to go!

I guess it depends on whether you think his shot was unhindered. Did the ref think that it was a clear goals coring opportunity, in which case should he not have awarded a penalty and sent the Raith player off, which would have been a clearer advantage to Thistle.

It is amazing how things change. I thought that when Erskine got the ball he was direct and was a threat all game. If he had played like that last season, we would have been singing his praises. It just seems that his standard has been so much higher this season, that if he doesn't rip through the opposition then it is poor game. I was a bit concerned when he went off.

I am sure the powers tht be could organise the competition to have the final played in good weather. 8 preseason starts for most players at the beginning of July - just when the schools stop. Surely that interferes with their holiday plans ? 9 You can't contrast friendlies to league games. Like Topcat, I think that it is worth a go. There will be some organising though. I don't know how they would go from winter football finishing in April/May and summer football starting in Feb/March.

So far for me,McGuigan hasn't shown that he is a goal scorer. How many games has he come on this season ? Craig came on as a sub and scored and scored 2 in his first full game. Craig for me, at the moment.

Watson Towers, I don't really get your logic. I am pretty sure that the attendance at the Thistle game on a Saturday would be just as good as a Monday night vs St J ? Are you thinking that they would prefer to be fresh for the cup game and have the potential of a next round match against a "bigger" club

I am not sure that this is the clubs idea. I seem to remember that this was suggested on this forum after the semi final. I am a bit concerned though that folk taking up the Aitken suite package only get a coach to the game whereas the Alan Rough folk get a Luxury Coach !!

Listen, I am not involved in the politics of PTFC, I have no inside knowledge and I am not defending Alan Cowan. I am talking about my perception of what went on at the time. So, from my perspective he was the one that was in the media spotlight and taking the lead. I also remember that there was a lot of support for that new board. So if you guys knew some dodgy dealing was going on, or some flaw in their ability to work for the good of PTFC, you should have done something about it then ! Don't just spout off about it after the event. That's easy.

The point I was trying to make was that without his input then - we might not be here today. It is easy to criticise when things go wrong and totally forget the good things.

I think that maybe at the end of the day Mr Cowan didn't make the best decisions for Thistle - but don't forget that he was very prominent in the Save the Jags campaign.

Murray, Bannigan,Forbes, Doolan and Erskine all off the pace today. Dunfermline wasted time all afternoon and got away with it. 6 substitutions, 2 sendings off and only 2 minutes extra ? I said to my mate when Forbes had the ball for the penalty that he wouldn't score cos he wasn't playing well. Again we started a bi tentative - don't know why.
