  1. I thought both teams didn't play that well but we managed to knuckle down and get the result. Great to have erskine back and a wee bit of magic put us infront. Amoo scoring one of his usual goals from a couple of yards out made it safe. Was impressed with the defence of a whole and ICT didn't look like scoring all game. Only issue is especially in the first half the hopeless punts up the park from Lindsay and Devine. I don't think any of them got within 10 yards of a thistle player. First time we really played the ball on the deck we scored. Thought the ref was shocking and forgot that this was a contact sport. Also expected more of a crowd. I know ICT don't bring a large travelling support but on the first day of the season we should be bringing more fans in.
  2. I think it's something to do with if your broadband is bt or sky. I'm with sky and its seems to happen but when I go to 4g it takes me to the normal page.
  3. You say football is all about opinions and then follow it up with how my opinion is garbage. It did make me laugh though. As a thistle fan who goes home and away to all the games I hope I am proved wrong and I hope Lindsay turns out to be a cracking player but from what I have seen I think my opinion is valid. Too many times he is pulled out of position and chases the ball leaving a load of room for the attackers of the opposition. I know that he is young and will learn from his mistake so I think this will be a big season for him.
  4. Ok it's just you quoted me. Thought your point was in relation to my post and not the thread as a whole.
  5. I don't understand what having a good game against Queen's Park would prove? I don't rate the player and as said before he looked very shakey at times and that was against opposition 2 leagues below us.
  6. Yesterday was a really frustrating game for a fans point of view I thought. I could count on one hand the amount of times a we attempted to take the ball past a defender instead we looked for a backwards/sideways pass. If these players can't beat a player who is part time two leagues below them then they've not got much chance of beating a man playing professionally in the premier league. It was also very frustrating watching us continually ping balls out from the centre of the pitch to the flanks when there was an easier option through the middle. It just became really boring and predictable. Yes Queen's Park set up to not get a doing and there might not have been to much space through the middle but a lot of the time we didn't even look for it and went for the easy option out wide. I really fear about this central defensive partnership. I am not the biggest fan of Lindsay and yesterday showed his decision making is suspect as usual. I know he is still young but he is now for the time being first choice along with Devine so I think he does need to improve majorly and take control and charge of the defence. In the end it could have and sould have been more (don't know how Wilson or azeez didn't take their chance and also I don't know who's miss was worse) but to finish top of the group with 4 wins out of 4 you have to give a good bit of credit to the management team and the players even if the teams they were playing are in the leagues below. Good to see cerny back and made a couple of really good saves in the first half. Still not totally liking Welsh and Wilson but the both had pretty decent games during the group stages. Lawless was totally anonymous yesterday and couldn't believe he stayed on the pitch as long as he did. Erskine was very good and throughly deserved the man of the match award and great to see him back in a thistle shirt!
  7. I'm still waiting on thistle answering my email to take over £300 off me. It's only been 4 days. Must not need the money.
  8. Meh. Not bothered in the slightest by this news. Bombscare at times and I'm sure we will find someone as good if not better.
  9. One of the worst goalkeepers in thistles history
  10. We really need a central defender. Seabourne is a bombscare at times and his distribution is horrendous. Lindsay constantly gets caught out between chasing the ball or staying with his man. I know it's his first season but I just don't see what people are sometimes raving about. Frans is a decent back up option but a bit on the slow side but would be happy for him to sign an extension.
  11. Just in from the game and absolutely brilliant result. A terrible game of football thanks to a honking killie team just playing long ball after long ball and long throw after long throw. Thistle did for spells get brought down to their level but the football side won in the end. I am one of the biggest critics of Welsh but he had one of his best games today, covered every blade of grass (artificial) and always looked for the ball. Would have been a fantastic goal if the shot had the end had went in instead of nearly breaking the cross bar. Thought every player got pass marks but scully needs to be more vocal and take control of the game at the back. A few times he wanted the defence to tidy up when he could have ran out and picked it up and also needs to learn to catch under pressure instead of punching. However can't remember him having a meaningful save to make. Defence looks more solid with Lindsay on the bench but seabourne needs to stop kicking it aimlessly up the park. Every time it went to the killie player. Was very frustrating the amount of times we elected to hoof the ball forward instead of putting our foot on it and playing a 5 yard pass. Great to see killie in the playoffs and it will be interesting to see how the teams fare. Great day out and a performance that the players owed us after the last 3. Here's to Alan Archibald and another season in the premier league! Mon the jags!!!
  12. This And what scary is that he seems to be one of the first picks week in week out. With the potential of losing banzo and osman this summer our basis of midfield could be him. That is a worrying thought.
  13. Well that's made my mind up for attending the other games this season (well apart from the Hamilton one since its bevvy session) the players look uninterested and we deserve nothing from the game. A win for killie and we could find ourselves in real trouble. Sean Welsh is stealing a wage as a footballer. There was better standard in the firhill cup on Sunday.
  14. Typical thistle. could have played all day and not scored. Thought the team would have been up for it just like the fans. Appears not to be the case
  15. How many games this season have we failed to score in the first half? It seems like I have seen about 3 goals down the north stand if even that!!
  16. 9 corners yesterday and not one even troubled the defence. Opposition teams must love when we get set peices as they are almost guaranteed to come to nothing.
  17. It would be interesting to see seabournes pass completion rate today because all I can remember him doing is putting the ball up the park straight to their number 4. So many times today the midfield were totally missed out. But it did look at times that no one was making space in front and a massive gap right in the middle when players continually wanted to go out wide. Could have played all weekend and no scored let alone threaten their goal.
  18. There should be a law in football that if you attend a football match and your team doesn't have a shot on target you should be entitled to a refund.
  19. That was dreadful. From the first whistle it appeared we would settle for a draw. Lucky to get away with a point as we didn't deserve anything. Hopeless punts forward and no midfield. Woeful. After all the stuff about pushing toward a top 6 and they produce that performance!
  20. I thought that the first half yesterday was one of the worst games of football I have witnessed. I don't know if it was the pitch but both teams were as poor as each other. Welsh was really poor at right back but he did only have 15 mins to prepare for it so can him a bit of slack. He mistimed his jump for the long ball that led to the accies goal and also didn't get close to him man allowing him to turn and pick out the accies player to score easily. He really came onto a game once moved into his natural position in midfield when dumbaya came on. I lost count of the amount of back passes or hopeless punts up the park to pogba we made. Pogba dos really well holding onto the ball but again there was not one thistle player within 20 yards of him when he got the ball. A lot of misplaced passes by both teams and the ball constantly going out of play made it a half to forget. A quick goal was what was need and a superb pass from lawless put it on a plate for pogba who couldn't miss. Archie got his subs and tactics spot on bringing on dumbaya, moving Welsh into midfield, dools on at the right moment and swapping Fraser and Edwards position. On a whole after the second half I would say all players got pass marks but again there a lot of weaknesses that need to be worked on. Again from set pieces we look shaky defending them and hopeless when we get one. Seabourne looks shaky every time a defender runs at him backing off for a full 30 yards. He does a lot of shouting and pointing when in actual fact it is his man that he's not picking up. I thought Miller done well moving into central defence but I wouldn't want to see it happen to often. I think this game was more about the result than the performance so delighted to be walkin away with 3 points and hope this can kick start us to getting into the top 6.
  21. I read somewhere that pogba has a clause in his contract that if he plays a certain amount of games his contract will automatically renew for next year and I think he is only 3 games away from this.
  22. Just in from game and we gave everything. So frustrating to lose two goals like that. They looked dangerous from every set piece from the first one they got and we failed to deal with any of them really. Lawless goal was brilliant and pretty much the whole team played great. Amoo was running amok down the right and looked absolutely shattered at the end. Gutting not to come away with anything but with performances like that there is no reason we can't take anything from Saturday's game. Got to get over the disappointment and focus on the positives from the game. And practice defending balls into our box!!
