  1. You might like to think that, but I couldn't possibly comment
  2. The vote a few weeks ago was to complete the season with average points. Officially they have been completed. UEFA have also said that this seasons league need to be completed by a specific date (end July I think) Besides. The issue was about distributing prize money cash to the lower league clubs and the only way that they could do that (according to the SPFL) was the call the leagues as completed and that is what the member clubs voted for.
  3. They need to complete the Premier League in the next few months or Celtic/Rangers will not be able to play in Europe next year. If the Premier League completes, they need to have some sort of relegation/promotion, so therefore The Championship, League One and League Two also need to complete, so much as your idea makes sense, it isn't actually possible.
  4. He did. I had temporary work there as a student at the same time
  5. On a similar note, regarding the independent investigation vote, We can assume that the 6 board member clubs excluding Rangers (Motherwell, Hamilton, Dunfermline, Alloa, Brechin and Montrose) all voted to support themselves. That means that they would only have ever needed 6 more votes for the resolution to fail. Put another way, only 36 clubs had a free vote and 13 voted against the SPFL board. 33% having no confidence is hardly a ringing endorsement.
  6. Did anyone else see the pictures of people crowding into London Transport on the news ? I can see a second wave in 2 weeks time
  7. You can call the organisations what you like and change the structures in any way, but if it is still the same people running the show, it will be as effective as rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
  8. Amiens SC are taking the French league (LFP) to court after they were relegated when the French season ended early. https://www.besoccer.com/new/amiens-launch-legal-battle-after-unjust-ligue-1-relegation-833483 I'll be following the story. Not sure if it would set a precedent for us as it is going through french courts, but the outcome will be interesting. The other relegated french team, Toulouse, have asked for all french players to go on strike. Bonne chance avec ça
  9. I don't think that style is important. Just playing and winning games. I think it is our Championship winning season was the last time we won more games than we lost.
  10. We both did. ICT as a Championship team and us as a League One team
  11. Do clubs with artificial pitches have an advantage ? presumably we will need to keep the grass at Firhill in good condition, while less maintenance (and therefore less cost) is required for an artificial surface.
  12. I just hope they have good anti-virus software imbedded in the app
  13. No. It is still 30%. There needed to be 75% of the 42 clubs to vote YES for this to pass and only 30% voted YES.
  14. But why restrict us to that formula. There have been successful teams who have taken very different routes As Bear Bryant (American Football coach) said .... "Winning isn't everything, but it beats anything that comes in second."
  15. Especially if there is going to be competition from wall to wall English Premier League on the TV.
  16. I can’t believe how many are required at the stadium for VAR
  17. Without disagreeing about what you say, it isn’t the supporters who will be voting, but the club chairmen. Looking at it from the perspective of a league 2 or mid table league 1 side then he has delivered the much needed cash that he promised. You can add that those clubs with reps on the board will not want an enquiry (+ Celtic) and the numbers don’t add up. Ofer that the best we can hope for is that a significant number (with luck over 50%) vote in favour,
  18. Amiens and Toulouse have been relegated from France Ligue 1, although that is going through the courts
  19. Would you really be happy for another year like the last 3 and say “never mind. At least we tried with youngsters.” All I am saying is that challenging at the sharp end is the priority. We need to get rid of this loosing mentality
  20. And where are all these young players who have managed to avoid all the scouts from other clubs ? (We do have Sena who came from Pollock) I’m not saying it wouldn’t be nice, but getting a winning team is far more important than how old they are and where they came from
  21. What happens if over 50% but less than 75% vote for the independent enquiry ? I can’t see everyone saying well done Neil you win
  22. So you are happy to get gubbed every week providing we play with kids from the juniors ? Personally I’m fed up of losing. I just want a winning team and I’mnot much bothered what age they are or where they came from
  23. I would strongly disagree. What we need to get rid of is the losing mentality. It doesn't matter if it is young or old players, if we play expansive entertaining football, or win 1-0 on the counter attack. The most important item to address is 3 years of losing more games than we win. PERIOD. Lets start winning games. That is the top priority. Once we do that, then introduce the youth players into a winning team. That will do more for Partick Thistle and for the players themselves. Put out a team of kids who get gubbed 5-0 every week by Cove/Clyde/Forfar and you will completely kill their careers before they start.
