  1. Do we know that we didn’t get the £900k ? We could be moaning about something that has happened
  2. Feeling more confident than usual. I think we will score. 1-3
  3. I think we would have had some transfer income included. May would be before Fitzpatrick, but did we not get sell on fees for Lindsay and/or Hendry ? The next 12 months will be very telling as we appear to have been splashing the cash, along with 3 (and counting) changes of board and asset transfers. Still good to know that we were on relatively sound financial footing up to that point
  4. but as we don't know if there are or are not any instructions, therefore we do not know what she can or can not do. You are assuming that there are none when you say she can do what she likes. We just don't know.
  5. Has anyone contacted Maryhill CID as I'm sure that the Taggart team need to re-examine the passing of Colin Weir. We have now established motive, so I hope Jacqui Low has an alibi, otherwise all we will need is a means. My money is on poison. Has anyone else heard the rumour that Death In Paradise is relocating to The Firhill Basin ?
  6. If we were runaway leaders, regularly scoring 5 or 6 and playing scintillating football, would there still be a proposed boycott because of who the chairman is ? Thought not
  7. And we have such a great record against sides who have just sacked/appointed new managers. Let’s hope he gets a stay of execution
  8. We didn’t suddenly need a chairman, we have needed one since the interim board took control and thought they could do without one
  9. Perhaps you and Jordanhill are both right. The shares were bought independent of the training complex and once that was settled Colin Weir had a review of how he would fund it. That was when the training complex, which clearly had rising costs, was cancelled to fund the shares. However I doubt you 2 could agree on whether the Jags play in red and yellow or yellow and red
  10. What Exactly could Goodwin, or TFE have done to stop this happening ?
  11. Did she ? I thought that was David Beattie spin when he ousted her and later dismissed by Norman Springford who said he would not have issued such a statement. Two thoughts from me. Much as I would not want her on the board, I do think that we were rudderless without a chairman. It may not be the rudder that we want and it may be pointing us in the wrong direction, only time will tell on that, but I am pleased that we have a chairman again. Secondly, the why now. The interim board and Ms Low must have known what the reaction would be, therefore there must be a reason why the interim board would unanimously support this. Remember that there are fans representatives on the board and unanimous would mean that they supported it. I am wondering if this is a excercise to deflect attention away from Ian McCall and his underperforming players. Get the fans rile deflected in another direction and take the presure off them for a bit. The statement was also issued late on a friday on a weekend where we don't have a match and I suspect there is something in the timing. Others around us do play today, so the league table might look worse after that.
  12. Do you know what the alternatives were ?
  13. Fox is a good example. Over several seasons he has proven himself at this or a higher level and last season was the keeper for the League Champions. He is not a bad keeper. Yet, under 2 managers at Thistle he has been in steady decline, suggesting that it is not him, or the managers that are the problem. We have others like him in this and previous squads who had been proven players at our level, yet fail to play to that standard under successive managers
  14. Lets be honest. Since we finished top 6, we have had 4 boardrooms. Beatie & Co, JLo & Co, Beatie & Co Mk2, Interim board. That is more changes of boardroom than changes of manager, and we have a 5th in the pipeline. None of them have covered themselves in glory. To suggest that certain board members should be thanked for what they did in this period is quite frankly ludicrous. At best you could say that Beatie took his eye off the ball when blinded by the light of cash that he may or may not have been expecting to see again, however I would suggest that there is incompetence across the lot of them. I only hope that the fan run board, who ever they are has some plan to get us out of this mess. I am no fan of McCall, but there is no point in making any managerial changes until the top level structure of the club is sorted.
  15. Sorry but you are delusional if you think we can win 4 home games in a row, having only won 2 all season.
  16. I would at best say ambivalent, at worst, they don't know who we are. Only 2 teams that they care about one way or the other.
  17. I deleted that myself as it may have been causing offence, which was not my intention
  18. Don't get me wrong, I was not defending Caldwell. He had lost all credibility and had to go. I just think that we could have done better when replacing him.
  19. Appointing McCall was not right (and I said so from the start) 1. It was a lazy decision from a board that was needing good PR as at the time the Consortium buyout was falling on it's arse and they had lost the backing of Colin Weir. It was the appointment that the fans wanted, so they could get some quick brownie points. I'm not sure who else would have been available, but judging by the timescales, I don't believe that they looked very hard 2. By his own admission, the decision to come was a heart over head. It's great that McCalls heart is with The Jags, but we need a manager using his head to get out of the mess that we were in. It also calls to question his professional judgement when he had an Ayr team looking like promotion candidates at the time. 3. I don't know if there are any truths in the rumours around his previous departure (I've never seen them denied), but this was basicaly the same board that reappointed him, so they should know. If there is any truth to them, he should never have been allowed near Maryhill Rd. ever again. 4. Some may find it amusing, but as above, if there is any truth in the shoe defecation story then I would not want anyone who considers this acceptable conduct anywhere near my club. On Caldwell, I think that at times he was unlucky (transfer budget pulled, the collapse at Morton, the double sending off v Ayr) however I'm much rather have a lucky manager than a good manager.
  20. Just because a decision is popular does not mean it is either right or good. The board are there to make hard decisions that are right for the club, not necessarily what the fans want.
  21. In the same way that you can give an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters you will get the works of Shakespeare
  22. That might have happened even if the game had been played
