Exactly why I’m still sceptical of any of this being true. It makes no sense to invest in Scottish football and less to invest in a club like ours. If you want a small club to develop young players you would go to an EU country with easier immigration laws. I have seen nothing anywhere (including the Mail) which didn’t originate on here and no mentions of any verifiable sources, even after 3 days.

That would probably include me. I have no interest in following a millionaires play toy. As said earlier, I hate what Chelsea, City and others have done to English Football. That said, I had my doubts when The Weirs got involved, but they didn’t significantly change the ethos of the club, at least on the field and didn’t start splashing cash on Billy Bigtime players. Worrying times for me

However the examples that have been given of where the Weirs might have provided funding are all one off events which are outside of the day to day business. If as suggested that he funded the players trip, what would have happened if he hadn't ? We wouldn't have gone. Same for SAS gate. These things are not budgeted for and therefore not in any way putting at risk the day to day. To me, the statement is quite clear that the board set a budget which is within our means .... I would much rather have an ambitious manager that thinks of us as a stepping stone than one that thinks managing Thistle is the pinnacle of his (or her) career. I hope that Gary goes onto win the Champions League as it will mean he has been successful with us.
