  1. I think Ally Roy will be a good fit. Like many of the current squad he will also be going for back to back relegations.
  2. If it is someone from Derry then I doubt it is Hale as he is back with Birmingham now. Could it be a return for Darren Cole who can play right back or central defence ?
  3. Would that suggest Bell leaving ? Seddon has not done much wrong as a back up and I don’t think a third keeper is a priority
  4. And foul of the season for the one on Brown (if the award exists)
  5. Kevin Bridges would put a smile on my face
  6. I think we have to accept that we have the worst team in the league. I don't accept we have the worst players and it is GC's job to get those players playing as a team.
  7. what is wrong with a bit of positive PR. There's not much of it around Firhill these days
  8. It is rumored that Miles Storey has been arrested following the club's training camp with 4 Para. The allegation is that Miles stole 2 automatic assault rifles, fully loaded, from their armoury and headed to a local pub which was packed with tourists. On entering the pub he proceeded to fire randomly into the crowd, not stopping until both magazines were empty. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
  9. I never said it was realistic that we will do it, just that it is the target that should be set for the manager. Anything less would point to a lack of ambition, which would be worse.
  10. But it’s only 12 points and -19 GD from 4th. I think they are right to still have that as a target in November. I’m far from convinced that we will do it, but I would be very disappointed in the board if they didn’t have that as a target
  11. I have no faith in our ability to score or keep a clean sheet, especially away from home. I think the best we can hope for is a 0-0 draw
  12. Does it matter ? Only 2 hit the net, so if it's skied over the bar, hits the corner flag or scuffed to the keeper it is still a failure. I don't remember any world class saves. I think that my point is that we may sort out the defense and stop losing, but we won't win until we sort out the attack
  13. Whether they are on target or not and whether we deserved it or not is immaterial. We created 77 opportunities to have a shot, but only 2 of them find the net. That is a problem in my book
  14. Our players don't have the stamina to make all the off the ball movements to play a Barca style. One of the attractions (tactically) of hoof-ball is that it takes less out of the players. It is easier to play hoof-ball for 90 minues than tippa-tappa. Unfortunately I don't think we have the players for either style.
  15. 1 in 3 chances. If only. From the official stats Dunfermline 4 shots = 1 goal we would have drawn Ross 10 shots = 3 goals we would have won Dundee Utd 7 shots = 2 goals we would have drawn Alloa 21 shots = 7 goals we would have won Ayr 11 shots = 3 goals we would have won Morton 12 shots = 4 goals we would have lost, but what a game !) ICT 12 shots = 4 goals we would have won By my tally, that is 77 shots and we have scored just 2. An average of 1 in 37.5 attempts. I think that the stats show that our attack is currently a big problem
  16. I think that we have just as big a problem in attack. In those 7 defeats, we have failed to score in 5 of them.
  17. I have some good news for this game. I have found my lucky Jags mug, an old one with the stealth bomber logo. I would always drink my morning coffee out of this mug on match days, and not use it at any other time. Interestingly, I lost it around the start of the top 6 games and it has been missing since. My coffee will be drunk from it tomorrow. Lets see what happens.
  18. 12th May at Dundee was the last time we got anything from an away league game. That is almost 6 months. I know that will have to happen at some point, but I just don't see us getting a win. I'll settle for a surprise draw, but hope that our unpredictability will show it's face
  19. Referring to Dastardly's first law of Thistle prediction, which states that the performance in any game is indirectly proportional to the expectation of the support, then we have a good chance, as most of the comments on here are predicting a defeat. However we have the corollary to this law which states that the performance of the great unpredictables just can't be predicted. Basically, I don't have a scoobie
  20. A very quick search found that Paul Quinn (Aberdeen/Ross/Dundee) and Michael Miller (Morton/Livvy) are also out of contract, and I'm sure that either of them could do a job at right back. There may well be reasons why they don't have clubs, but if I found that, I'm sure that there are others available.
