  1. Roque, Interesting comment. Do you know more? Stealing our flags is totally not on.
  2. I agree ré Ryan Edwards. There are times when he runs around as if energy is not conserved. It is frankly superhuman. The guy has astonishing energy. Perhaps converting some of that into shots on target would get him a place in the Australian team? I seem to recall him letting off a missile not that long ago? I think there is a truly great footballer just waiting to come out of his shell. He is, I think, better than he thinks he is. Archie and Shaggy ought to nurture a player, who I do not think, has reached anything like his peak.
  3. "Erskine was not getting much going for him, grabbed his goal then sent off." I'd agree with the first part of that. Erskine was as guilty as anyone else of passing a ball that didn't work. His goal was good and all, but I am pretty sure he didn't feel his overall performance was that great. The 'lunge', if that is what we are going to call it, was perhaps almost as much about over-extending, Just because you want to win a tackle. perhaps, Health and Safety went out of the window? Frankly, Rangers were not in a brilliant position whether he had stood up, tackled or just fallen on his arse.. It is that misjudgement, or the need for it, that tells you a couple of things about Erskine. He is 'up for the team', his commitment needs to be better placed on the park. Oh! And he doesn't apparently fear Rangers or their referees. The Bridge is strong. There are several other players who may have been able to adjust to just losing, almost always, second balls, I don't think Erskine likes it much. And neither do I. That 51 for the club? Great player.
  4. Archie's tactics against Aberdeen were spot on. We are in the unfortunate position to have long term injuries in our defensive set up. There are however some positives to take from that game. We have, at last, someone who can take a dangerous corner / free kick, we have a newish centre back who has scored a goal. ( One of the things we lacked after the departure of Liam Lindsay). I am as disappointed as anyone else about the way the results have gone. But, this season, we have competed against the best the league has to throw at us. Given the abject surrender to Celtic and Aberdeen at the end of last season, there has been improvement. Maybe not quite as much improvement as we, fans, would have wanted, but improvement none the less. Anyone agree with me that we should use much the same tactics against Ross County?
  5. Not entirely sure why they are not both knocking on a first team place.
  6. Seems to me that we we have to introduce our better development players now.
  7. Mr Bunny, Oops, I missed your post. So extremely unlikely.
  8. Any chance Milan will be playing tomorrow?
  9. Just to suggest to LIB, do you recall the striking partnership of Jimmy Bone and Frankie Coulston? It is that sort of partnership I would like to see us having up front. The two of them weren't much less than telepathic in their mutual understanding. Apart from right now, that was my happiest time being a Jags Fan.
  10. The Earl of Hathaway, I think the general direction the club appears to be taking is brilliant. This is an astonishing period in the history of PTFC. We, you and I, were around when we nearly went bust. The work that has been done behind the scenes in turning us into something good has been nothing short of amazing. I also think that the way the club has treated - long term - injured players, has been nothing short of magnificent. If you were out there, on a free, you'd have to consider PTFC simply on the basis that they would look after you? We appear to do that. I think we are the future.
  11. I really hope he comes back. For a while he was my favourite PTFC player. Fingers crossed!
  12. That is fantastic news. On the topic of who we need, perhaps another centre back and someone to share the strain with Doolan? We need another left central central defender, imho, and someone else that is a goal threat (read, can actually score goals).. The rest of the team seems kinda OK? I am pretty sure Archie is working on it. ;-)
  13. Archie had an interview on Jagzone yesterday. He sounded completely committed to us. Perhaps others think otherwise?
  14. Might be 'interesting' if Appleton continues his interest in LL at Leicester.
  15. Brilliant effort. I bought three.
  16. Going to turn up on the North Stand and hope we can win this game. That's what football fandom is all about. Optimism over Pessimism. Unless, of course you think otherwise?
  17. The direction the club is taking is completely positive, I, too, would like Archie to stay. Can you tie up a manager the same way you can tie up a player? He is worth it!
  18. I think Archie can be the manager here for as long as he wants it. For a manager, that is a fabulous position to be in. Frankly diddy teams are unlikely to attract him. They expect results in fractions of a season. Archie does it over several seasons. Our board of directors said, towards the end of last season when we were perilously close to relegation that they would back Archie, even if we went down. That is solidarity. I think his replacement will come from within, after Man U come calling. It may either be Scott MacKenzie,, Scott Paterson or Kris Doolan. Or all three to ease the burden of replacing our best ever manager.
  19. Fair enough. I kind of hate being the centre of attention too. Let's just leave it at you are my supporter of the year! ;-)
  20. So, we do buy players. And we do have a bit of money coming our way. Keeping our entire defence, from Cherny to Barton ought to be a priority. May be tricky, but we should see what the club can do. Lindsay should be a priority retention. Just saying. our hero's options are more likely realistically at the PSG / Barcelona level than even English Premiership level. That is how good I think he, potentialy, is. Hopefully a year or so off before the inevitable sale?
  21. Just to say the BowenBoys ought to win supporter of the season, if such an award existed Perhaps it should?
  22. Absolutely not. Lindsay is perhaps the best centre back we have ever had, or at least since Jackie Campbell. I want us to retain the core of our defense, if at all possible. Someone else mentioned money. We have some money, perhaps not just yet, but even a top six, bottom place, gives you guaranteed income. As does home gates against the crap teams in Glasgow. We are not, exactly, poor these days. (Frankly, I never, ever thought I would say that with a straight face ;-)) I am not suggesting we offer the house for the guy. I am suggesting we make a reasonable bid and see what happens. Correct me if I am wrong, but did we not buy the amazing Adam Barton?
  23. If I am reading pie and bovril correctly Aberdeen play both Saint Johnstone and Hearts early in their campaign to consolidate second place. I know it's a huge assumption, but if they win both these games and we win our first two fixtures, the ba's on the slates, is it not?
