  1. If he really is a good player, and he's maybe a bit mental, and therefore no one else wants him, then I'm seeing parallels with some of our legends.
  2. Something I haven't seen mentioned, I honestly believe that if Craigen had gone in and cleared the ball after he'd been waved away then he'd have been booked.
  3. So sorry to hear this. RIP Scott
  4. I can't go. I'm really hating it.
  5. I'm just a bit offended by the reference to the Arsenal men's team as "the first team". Honestly, in this day and age.
  6. Do you have to come down to Glasgow to buy your ticket?
  7. I think you're missing something here. "Rangers" have not lost any money. "Rangers" don't have any money. The money is, and I believe always has been held by "the company". "The company" which originally was associated with "Rangers" had some well documented financial difficulties which resulted in its liquidation, resulting in the formation of a new "company". It is this entity, responsible for employing players and staff, maintaining the stadium, managing PR, collecting gate receipts, running corporate hospitality, sponsorship and merchandise, which appears to have made significant losses. "Rangers", as far as I understand, is not an entity in itself. "Rangers" is more of a spirit (or often referred to as an "institution"), which is able to associate itself with these companies. It identifies itself through its colours and the songs of its followers, and through continuity of traits such as arrogance and aggression towards others, and values such as religious hatred and bigotry. It also, apparently, is responsible for winning trophies and holding footballing honours, despite having never employed a football player in its entire existence.
  8. Regarding comparisons with St Mirren, I think we may be at a disadvantage in that Paisley businesses will support the local team through sponsorship ( even where business owners do not support the club). Similar will happen with Kilmarnock, St Johnstone etc. I'm not sure but I think we may miss out in not being a town team, therefore having a less obvious catchment for sponsorship. Just a theory, it may be rubbish.
  9. Do you think I'd get away with calling it a present for my daughter (like I did with Mariokarts)?
  10. Don't want to start a new thread, so apologies to Sportsound, I'm extending this to Scottish football coverage in general. STV coverage is woeful!
  11. Almost thought you were being serious there.
  12. I see you can get it for the Wii. Haven't bought a computer game for myself in about 25 years (I assume you probably don't call them that any more), last one would have been on the Commodore 64, but I'm tempted.
  13. I think this is an excellent point and I often think that the influence ATS and SOD have on the way we play is under appreciated by many Jags fans. Strangely not by fans of other teams who only ever talk about our full backs. These guys can look like wing backs but only because they are willing to cover so much ground, but they are part of a back four. I find it frustrating how quick some are to criticise, and refer to Jordan McMillan coming in as soon as he's fit. He's proved nothing as a Thistle player so far. I even saw someone at the weekend virtually writing SOD off at this level. What a joke.
  14. You may have something there. Intersting that with that midfield, our current defence and Doolan up front, we effectively have last season's first team with Osborne and Higginbotham as direct replacements for Paton and Erskine. My one question would be how Bannigan and Higginbotham line up. Higginbotham seems to play naturally wide, but sometimes I think this can restrict ATS overlapping runs and I quite like Bannigan there.
  15. Morton sitting bottom of the "championship". Seven months ago we went there 8 points behind.
  16. Every week Thistle players get more premier league experience. With every game we don't lose they convince themselves that they belong here. Well done Jags. Good point. Great to see Kris Doolan getting a goal. Two goals at this stage is fine. I'm convinced he can cut it at this level.
  17. This Thistle team is genuine Partick Thistle material. You can't fault them on that.
  18. Coz Archie thought he could do a job? Or alternatively, maybe he has magic beans, and if we sign him and we have access to these magic beans. And maybe when you eat them, or even just smell them, then it means you can either (a) grow 14 foot tall or (b ) run faster than a cheetah or (c ) be guaranteed 15 goals a season in the premier league because that's the mark of a man. You get to choose, but only after christmas coz Santa has to rub them on his beard first. But I think the first reason maybe.
  19. I have wondered this myself. We're not a smaller club than Killie, St Mirren or St Johnstone, who are all pretty established. If our financial position is as good or better then there's no reason why we can't establish ourselves. Getting through the first season is going to be important, but I think we have a team that can do that.
  20. As long as it rhymes with clangers
