  1. Winning on Saturday would be a good start. Fact is that if we'd held on for a few more minutes on Saturday and got a break last night nobody would be questioning "the plan". We have a young team that's capable of improving and being given a chance to develop by the management, which seems like a decent plan to me.
  2. The Cup, do you have someone who hacks your account? Coz a couple of months ago you were spouting complete psh, then you became very reasonable, coinciding with your Doolan avatar, and I assumed that it was a different person. But now it's back to the psh.
  3. So we can't "realistically" beat St Mirren on Saturday. Honestly, I don't know why you bother.
  4. Anyone else think that relegation would be more of a disappointment that a disaster, for a club that has been at First Division level for most of the last 30 years? The way I see it, starting today, we have a great opportunity to push on this year and secure another season in this SPFL adventure. If it doesn't work out, we have another chance through the play-off. If we lose that we go back to where we've been, more financially secure, with a good squad in place (most are contracted through next season) and in a far more interesting "Championship", with play-off places available, cash distribution and big games against Hearts and their young Glaswegian cousins. We should be enjoying this more. The players and manager earned this place in the top flight, it wasn't handed to them on a plate, and there's far too much fear and blame being thrown around.
  5. Have to say that if there was no place for Mark Kerr tonight then there's no place for him at Thistle. I'm a fan of Craigen but he has to be pressing higher up the park. We were crying out for a proper sitting midfielder to control. Tough to lose Bannigan, Welsh and Osbourne all at once. I also, unfortunately, am not sure that Erskine, Lawless and Higginbotham can all play in the same team, but would love to be proved wrong.
  6. Ach well, you draw some, you lose some.
  7. If it gets drawn out any further you'll need a new jumper.
  8. Agree with everything, except that Archie didn't really get us to the cup final, and your last sentence has messed with my brain and I won't get to sleep now.
  9. I think we might see the personnel of your first line up, and the formation of the second. Craigen in the front of the midfield means that we press further up the park, put more pressure on the ball and defend from the front (three cliches, apologies). I wouldn't expect to see Higginbotham, Lawless and Erskine in the same team as we might lose that feature.
  10. No, you're probably right. I reckon part of the problem was that his injury meant he never had a chance to redeem himself after "that photo", whereas Chris did.
  11. I think hate is a big strong. I think many of us think he was a bit of a dick about it when he left, but he was a good player and a proud captain for us, especially last season, and I for one appreciate his contribution.
  12. Everyone knows that a superhero has to wear the right costume. His powers will now return.
  13. No, and I used to throw beer cans at the telly when Craig Brown came out with this stuff. Just saying though.
  14. We'd have over forty points. Unfortunately they're not. I still think it puts some context on the level of football we're playing.
  15. Congratulations to Archie. When he took over we probably weren't favourites for promotion. He got us here, he's made solid signings, he's continued to play good football, he's put faith in the young guys who I believe will continue to improve and, I think most impressively, he appears to have maintained confidence despite some pretty unfortunate knocks this season. I still think we're looking up but unfortunately we have many fans who only want to look in the other direction.
  16. F*** off ya ***in shower of **n**. Only kidding. Take my own daughter sometimes. The odd word here and there I have no problem with, it's the incessant stuff that's a problem. Loved the guy sitting next to me at the Celtic game. When Samaras went down for about the fourth time he jumped up and gave it ya diving cheating dirty ******* etc them immediately turned round to me and apologised. When I said it we fine he said "aye, it's the football, eh". I couldn't agree more . But no place for racism, absolutely not.
  17. I don't think we'll see any more unless someone leaves, but I have absolutely no information. By the way, nice to be able to respond to a reasonable post.
  18. Wasn't there something about somebody's mother earlier? Hypocracy?
  19. Is thistlenowthistleforever the same person who was masquerading a The Cup a few weeks ago?
  20. I don't disagree. Not sure if my post was unclear, but I wasn't intending to criticize either.
  21. Honestly, when Jackie McNamara left a year ago, if someone offered you where we are now, would you not have taken it?
  22. Haven't seen it but thought it looked a penalty at the time. If it wasn't I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse.
  23. We held a lead for 88 minutes. That would usually be enough.
  24. Agree regarding Banzo. Thought he was great today. (Don't tell anyone but I just "liked" a Bilko post.)
  25. Kind of agree, but I think the attitude runs through the fans too. And it's understandable given what we, as fans and players have been through this season. Everyone needs to pull together, because fans can't influence tactics or personnel but they can influence confidence.
