  1. Bannigan was superb, great wee player. If we want to be challenging next year then Balatoni can't be part of our defence. O'Donnell saw so much of the ball and gave it away just about every time. Stunning save by Fox at the death even if it was offside.
  2. Good effort gents. Nice to see a bit of positivity on the forum at the moment. I reckon the idea of opening it for the first home league game next year would be the best option as there is usually always a healthy crowd. Even if it is only a few hundred who take it up initially it will still be an improvement on what we have at the moment. If the shed all sat centrally with the areas to the sides covered in lots of different flags then I think it would look brilliant.
  3. I'm pretty sure Cole is a right full back who can also play centre half. If any of balatoni/kinniburgh/robertson are fit then I'd put them in the middle with Archie and move Cole to right back. I'd keep O'Donnell in the team but at right mid. I've yet to see him play a decent game at full back but he was excellent the few times he played at right mid. He's got the pace to go past people without having to think too much about defending at the same time. No idea who to start upfront.
  4. Possibly the worst Morton team I've ever witnessed. Our 'strikers' are going to end up putting us in real trouble.
  5. Johnny Lindsay is off to Brechin on loan which suggests Sinclair is staying put.
  6. Best I've seen the big guy play for us. Thought he looked leaner and sharper. Stewart is devoid of confidence, everything he tried failed to come off. Needs a goal fast but I think most of the support have already made their minds up about him. Elliot wasn't great either. Cole looked ok but I reckon he'd be better at full back. Kinniburgh back in the middle with Cole at RB and push O'Donnell back up to right mid where he is a lot more comfortable. Naismith didn't impress me at all, I fear he might have a touch of the Stevie Lennon's about him. Not starting Doolan was a mistake. Decent enough 2nd half but again when it counts, we don't have the composure in front of goal. Lastly, thought both keepers were excellent.
  7. Scott Paterson Kaka or more recently Andres Iniesta.
  8. Possibly. I think it's time Paton was dropped though.
  9. I'd go with that but replace Paton with O'Donnell.
  10. The difference with Hutton compared to the rest of our midfield is easy to spot. He actually goes and looks for the pass instead of standing in the same place. Lost count of the number of times he was in space and ready to accept the ball. It allows Rowson, who I thought edged Cairney for MOTM, to bomb forward safe in the knowledge he would have someone covering behind. Also thought O'Donnell looked the business when he came on and Balatoni had a solid game after a few nervy moments early on.
  11. Training with us according to the Glaswegian
  12. I read it and took it for what it was, a bit of harmless insight to what goes on off the pitch with the guys we watch every week. The story about them all pissing in a pint offended you? Pretty sure that stuff goes on in just about every Rugby club in the country but they are obviously well read doctors and lawyers and not just neddy footballers. Some folk need to get a life and chill out
  13. Loved the St Mirren game. Barry Elliot scored a peach of a header and Super Dan scored the leveller late on.
  14. The ending to the game today summed up just why we all love Thistle so much. Rowson's strike was brilliant and like others it brought a tear to my eye. Here's to the title push next season!
  15. As was in two minds about going tomorrow, meaningless game on a crap pitch wasn't exactly appealing. But after today I reckon the boys will need all the support they can get. All the best Jackie
  16. As long as it isn't Duffy & Charnley I'm not fussed. Gardner Spiers would be a cheap option and he seemed to be well respected when he was here before. Jimmy Nicholl has done a decent enough job at Cowdenbeath as well. Happy for Jackie to stake his claim though, always had a lot of time for him. If we get beat tomorrow though he can f*ck off!
  17. My thoughts from yesterday 1. Grehan had a decent game, his hold up play is better than any other target man we've had recently. 2. 5 at the back at home to a poor QOTS team? Every time Grehan or Doolan got the ball upfront they were completely isolated due to no runners from midfield. McCall needs to get his finger out. 3. Erskine was hopeless just like he has been for 80% of the season. 4. Jamie Campbell looks strong and fairly composed. 5. Rowson's work rate is tremendous, his finishing is woeful! 6. Balatoni and Kinniburgh each have a bombscare moment in them 7. willie McClaren is a decent player who I'd like to see at Firhill.
  18. I'd keep Archibald, purely because I don't think we'll be able to afford anybody better to replace him. He isn't the same player that he used to be but on his day there aren't many other players in the division who I'd take ahead of him. If Robbo wants to stay then I'd be happy with that as well, he's a decent player at this level.
  19. I wasn't at Cowdenbeath so can't comment on how he did there but I've been impressed with Hodge recently so would put him in instead of McGowan.
  20. Both brilliant videos, the League cup one is tear in the eye stuff! Just serves to remind me that we all support a special football team
  21. I found it pretty interesting. Cheers to the OP for putting it up.
  22. You can always rely on this forum for a good laugh! I reckon I know who Gus is, and I reckon at 90% of the games I've saw him at he's been slightly merry/blootered and giving it laldy! For me though, we need these kind of guys at the game. I don't sing at the games but I enjoy the atmosphere that guys like Gus create and it definitely helps the team. Who cares if he's blootered, he's never offended me (apart from the time I was stuck behind him at Cappielow and witnessed the hairiest back known to man!) and he obviously has a deep love for the jags. So enough of the keyboard warrior pish and see you all on Saturday! p.s If Gus isn't the guy with the hairy back at Cappielow then I have no idea who he is and offer my apologies!!
