I agree (partially). He plays rb in a back 4 so he may be more suited to defensive duties. However he had virtually no defensive requirements all night such was our dominance.
He had so much possession in forward areas that we’d have been better with Turner or Crawford or possibly Murray in that position to deliver better crosses.
Crawford played well enough but struggled at outside left as he obviously doesn’t have a left foot.
Perhaps a solution could be to play a Scotland style back 5 with Holt or McKenna in the Tierney role bombing forward and Turner and Foster wing backs. We scored vs Killie from Mayo’s burst.
Why did 3 managers not realise after 20 minutes that McKenna can’t cross a ball? And do something about it!
The crowd knew and sure as Hell, Morton knew because they allowed him time and space throughout.
Mckenna should have been off at ht. He is just not a rb.
As Morton offered absolutely no goal threat, Turner or Murray should have deployed in that role to deliver some decent crosses 2nd half.
Lack of imagination from management team.
What a great pic!
I thought it was Joe Craig at first. Tommy Gibb was one of my faves. Was gutted when he went to Newcastle but pleased he made a wee bit of money!
Did he get a Fairs Cup Winners medal?
I recall that killie strip. They should revert.
The sun was beating down today and strangely the extra muddy bits were covered by tarpaulins. I thought the direct sun would dry the pitch ! Pigeons were enjoying the seed.
But they’ll need the tarpaulins overnight.
Here’s an outrageous thought. Would our (former) friends at Glasgow Warriors allow us the use of Scotstoun for a few games?
The surface there is superb and Banzo and our world class midfield could pass the ball around like Barcelona at their best.
I don’t think we’re quite strong enough up front to win the league.
A lot depends on keeping Tiff fit and signing someone to adequately replace Rudden and possibly this new player who is going to unlock defences,
Defence and midfield looks strong though.
We should try to get rid now.
He’s just rendered himself worthless and probably useless on the park. He ain’t no Erskine!
Even 40k, the sum we lost out of last week’s intransigence, would at least allow us to cut our losses.
I could have chosen hundreds but the one I regularly think about lasted 2 seconds- the time it took the orangeman to raise his flag after Badger's glorious header.
Ahh Higgy!
Whats he doing down there? Don’t think he’s that old?
His departure to Killie was a kick in the guts. But not as bad as Somner to St Mirren.
McInnes spoke very well post match. No bullshit. Admitted they were outplayed.
But he erred with his defensive substitution, effectively inviting us on to the attack.
We completely outplayed Killie and would have won but for the incompetence of the ref. It was an extraordinary decision. He doesn’t know the laws of the game. McCall was amazingly restrained.
The performance should give us confidence that we can beat the top teams as we were a class above our opponents and McInnes admitted it.
Creating chances still appears a problem though. I think Lawless (instead of Smith) could perhaps have opened the defence. Heyho!
I love Tiff. What a fantastic footballer! But he needs to improve his delivery from the byeline and also the timing of his pass. We’d have a world beater if he could improve these aspects.
Ive never been a fan of McIver but he’s great in the air and brings others into play. He’s also quick. We’d need to change our style of play but perhaps he’s due a start. We’d need to hope that chances fall to someone else.
Great to see Stuart back to his best! He seems to have regained his pre-injury confidence.
If he can inflict some damage on our promotion rivals then this is a good move for all.
Ive always believed that there’s a good player in there bursting to escape. IM maybe feels the same so if he sets the Palmerston heather on fire there may be a way back with us.
The SPFL deal for live Friday terrestrial coverage is complete incompetence.
Notwithstanding the 500 rule we’d still be losing money through reduced attendance. And fans prefer Saturdays!!
These SPFL people just don’t know or care what they’re doing.
Lets hope the Scottish Government allow us an exemption for a full crowd on Friday.
