  1. Great effort to sell 1400 tickets for this game. I'd imagine most will be travelling with a sense of hope ( may be misplaced ), but has to be better than the doom and gloom of the usual crew.
  2. He was awful last year. Player in his day but I'd rather we signed younger , hungrier players just like doolan has been doing to date.
  3. Oooh you tease. Go on you know you want too.
  4. So won 2, drew 2, undefeated and top group. Through to next round. I'll take that. At this stage of the season performances will always be patchy. Look at St Johnstone for example....no one ( not even those on this forum ) can predict whether we will win the league, play offs, mid table or stone last ). Yet predictions come thick and fast, based on very little, bar personal bias. I think we might surprise quite a few this year as whisper it....the squad is coming together. Onwards.
  5. My take on this re the goalkeepers is we are lucky to have both of them. Neither are perfect but what do people expect? Rough, Walker, Crzery? Reality time methinks.
  6. A parting best for all parties. Not for me to judge how well he carried out the role in manifestly difficult circumstances, but for me he should be warmly welcomed back when he attends games ( as I'm sure he will )
  7. Great result. As GRE said really good to see the young boys get their chance.
  8. I have zero expectation of these games. Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of these early fixtures knows they amount to a very slight up from a friendly ( as others have said ). Would I like more in. Yes. But football very transient these days. I await with interest the final squad. Onwards
  9. I'm actually quite excited by a team reboot....players always come and go. We have lost far better players in our history and bounced back. Hopefully our next season will be one of them.
  10. What is it you expect the board or manager to say? The expectation I would hazard to guess is that we aim to finish as high as possible. I doubt they will say " due to our budget issues we will be relegation fodder " For the record I think we will be fine. Pure speculation of course :-)
  11. Nothing wrong with a bit of speculation. But to echo some of the comments above it was fairly obvious we deal with the players out of contract first.....then we move on to new signings. Patience.
  12. Ah the sweet smell of a scapegoating. 2 years in the football stocks. Give him a break ffs. He's been a more than decent player for us. Do I get frustrated by his tendency to play too many square balls. Yes. But here's the thing...possession football is the name of the game these days....and every team has that type of player. Same as many on here who slagged off docherty, despite the fact that when he played....we rarely lost! Sometimes the lack of knowledge of how modern football is actually played astonishes me. Final point on penalties....many a world superstar has missed one. Its totally understandable...get over it, move on. Its only a game.
  13. Makes sense to sign bannigan, given docherty had gone. Would now be good to see some new signings.
  14. Season tickets are well ahead of schedule, plus the TJF inputs a pretty good story I'd say. Whether it's enough to balance the mess left by the previous board is unknown, but I hope so.
  15. My view is that all three were very good players for us. Plenty of people thought the docherty/bannigan axis didn't work, so that conundrum now sorted. As always no player is irreplaceable so hopefully some new faces to come that will make us a decent team next year. For morale purposes important we get some new signings in ASAP.
  16. Still would have been better in the SPL without a doubt.
  17. The news is bad but not surprising. If we could increase our season ticket sales by 500 to 1000, plus those who can afford it increase their TJF subs, I think we can ride this out. Certainly hope so.
  18. Like most still coming to terms with what transpired yesterday. A huge opportunity missed. I see a few are predicting we won't be challenging next season. I'd like to think that doolan will build his own team in the style we have just witnessed. A big challenge of course. Clearly Dundee United should be strong....but their current team hardly world beaters. I suspect Inverness will be up there, but will we really be below morton; ayr and dunfermline? Who knows, but as many have said if the fans are as galvanised as of late, we can absolutely be challenging.
  19. We were poor but could still have got over the line. Think our legs went tbh. I'm not going to blame any of the guys who missed a penalty. Hard to take.
  20. Can't see Doolan changing it. Go with what has been working superbly. I think if we get the first goal they they crumble.
  21. I'd have taken 2 nil before a ball was kicked. Ross County are not a good side. No reason not to be confident on Sunday.
  22. Only 400 tickets left for home end. So that's looking like 7000 plus jags fans?
