  1. So no licence for George square........so let me get this straight..... club want to turn the square red and yellow we are coming off the back of the biggest pr stunt at the club possibly ever and the Mickey Mouse organisation that sells our strips doesn't think to apply for a licence to sell strips just for one day......you know captive audience and all that.....why are the strips on sale from 1pm at TTL that's no use George Sq might be full of Thistle supporters not Port Dundas
  2. We are definitely getting new strips for next season and seemingly the away strip will be a belter
  3. If he wants to go best of luck to him. Can't really see a championship side interested in him as he is too slow and his positioning at times this season has been really poor. I do admit he has got better in the last few months but if he goes I have no doubt we will be able to pick someone up just as good if not better. So maybe next season with all of his culture we might see him in a Greek tragedy
  4. If it is the comedian that was there on Saturday then the club should be paying you to go to hospitality. He was rotten
  5. What a lot of bollocks and really what planet are you on your other choice outside Partick Thistle is Rangers you are at the wind up. If that is true then as far as I am concerned you and it is my own opinion you and Bilko should start up your own thread just title it ********* together. Bilko stick to the Youth updates you do it so well and as for the Rangers obsession on a thread surely even you understand that the whole debacle that is sevco is so funny and for all the years the we jags fans have had to put up with All the shite, bigotry and being told on numerous occasions that you are a ****** bassa coz you don't support the h*ns or an orange bassa coz you don't support Celtic well let's just say the last 3 years have been bliss even the Celtic this year in Europe has been bliss. Yes I am sure after today the sevco will get money pumped into them and they will eventually get back into the premiership and we will all have to put up with the sectarian pish even more but hey ho just as long as Scottish media and the East end of Glasgow are happy. But one thing that you and the rest of your knuckle dragging inbred scum of supporters cant deny is your club died because ********* you worship today I.e. King were culpable in letting it die. Sevco the gift of a joke that keeps on giving
  6. Bilko You are Delluded.......King is a rat and as for the Gerbil Murray they are both as engrained in the stinking previous regime as anyone else. Good point earlier on when is David Murray going to court for his skullduggery. King part of the Whyte regime Murray another member of a board that took Rangers into administration yes just the men you are looking for to steady the blood loss at Sevco real tactical financial minds but then again maybe Whyte learned from the great master of tax evasion you can just see the conversation now in the Boardroom between Craig Whyte and Dave King " Now Dave enlighten me again how does this tax evasion thing go again" right and proper people aye probably what the bigoted masses deserve at the dung heap that is Ibrox. And for the fairness of both sides I just wish the same would happen over at the great unwashed
  7. After today my arse and really you are a total numpty with your views wake up and smell the coffee
  8. Oh thats right goals can be scored at any time in the 90 minutes never thought of that I wonder what the percentage of goals scored in the first 40 seconds are. What is it with people that they find that losing a goal in the first minute is acceptable. I can understand losing goals in the last 5 minutes as players can become tired, formations can change i.e. more forward players, more players in the box as desperation measures but in the first minute when everyone is supposed to be switched on that is not on. And do you know what get a grip im fed up with the happy clappers always thinking there is a conspiracy against Alan Archiebald if the manager does good he gets the applause if he does not do good he gets the criticism part and parcel of the job Archies problem lately he is getting more criticism than applause and that is down to results and performance and unless I am mistaken all job specs of the manager. Archie always a legend but not above reproach constructive or not unfortunately thats what a forum is all about
  9. This has to be the best and not only that other supporters agreeing with it. We were a goal down in less than a minute how could we be well organised I would expect lapses in concentration maybe into the second half not less than a minute into the game. To be fair we were let back into the game because Celtic took the foot of the pedal nothing to do with our organisation in fact at their third goald Conrad humps the ball from outside his own box and only manages to get it to the halfway line which then subsequently goes straight to a celtic player less than 5 seconds later Celtic 3 up. Everbody is right nobody expected anything from Celtic but to be a goal down after less than a minute is nothing but embarrasing. It is embarrasing as a player and embarrasing as a coach regardless of the opposition. But hey ho at least we were well organised and competed against the top team in Scotland for the first 40 seconds magic
  10. just heard this morning on Talksport that you can buy Sevco merchandise on the Newcastle Utd web site and seemingly vice versa...looks like Newcastle Utd reserves will be trying to become a dominant force in the Scottish Championship you just have to laugh at the joke that is Sevco.....Away the lads
  11. Would not miss it for the world. Regardless of the score as a Thistle fan you are duly obliged to slag the old firm for 90 minutes when you get the chance....thats the difference between them and us(apart from the fact they have extra fingers and only one hemisphere up top) O.T.I.G.
  12. Dont quite see the point re the clubs home and it not being a foodbank however as said and for the avoindance of doubt I think that helping out the Foodbank is a great idea and whoever suggested it well done whether it has been someone at the club or someone connected with the Foodbank. However here is the deal and lets put it out there maybe the club could have got the players to donate gift vouchers/ food as a way of promoting the campaign and raising awareness through the media and various outlets. If that was the case and if you see Thistle as being the clubs home then I again raise the point Charity begins at home and that maybe might encourage more support through supporters attending and might even get a response from the Inverness supporters attending as well. Any Foodbank is a worthy cause and hopefully the Maryhill one gets a great response I know I will be giving
  13. I would be more inclined to say well done Thistle if the club had said it was going to donate a lump sum and then asked supporters to bring along donations for the foodbank to subsidise the whole effort. All I can see from this is the club facilitating the supporters to donate. All of it is a most worthy cause however charity begins at home and the club could have done better by at least giving a cash donation as stated previously. And for the avoidance of doubt I will be bringing something along for the donation. Just putting it out there thats all Im saying
  14. That has to be on of the most stupid posts on here for a long time. Is not every fan a fan giving opinion or is just those fans that you want to listen to who or have the same opinion as yourself. Is Archie above reproach of course not...was last Fridays game one of the worst that you have seen at Firhill for a long time of course it was....was the manager devoid of ideas from half time onwards was he devoid of getting the players to change tactics to break St Mirren down it looked to me like he was. To some on here Lyle Taylor is THE second coming and I hope he is but once again we have a loan signing coming in who will most probably go elswhere at the end of the season as someone will offer hime more money as happened the last time. I would have a lot more confidence in Archie if he had sorted the Left back situation long before now and realised that a striker who can score scores on a regular basis and an attacking midfielder who goes beyond the striker is what this team has been crying out for at times during this season. He has got the team at times playing some of the best football I have seen at Firhill for a long time that has to be achieved on a more regular basis consistency is an issue and if we had been able to achieve wins on the bounce then we would really be challenging for a top 6 place. No 2 wins in a row in the league is not exactly pass marks no matter how you gloss it up. I always go to support the jags and with passion hope they win every week but I have an opinion and sorry if that differs with you. I dont like some of the posts on here and yes do believe that some people are wired to the moon but I make no apologies you are deluded with your continuous rant against anybody who posts Anti Archie Lyle Taylor is not the Messiah however he is not a bad striker and hopefully will score a few goals that will keep us in this league. This thread contributes little to reasoned debate
  15. Should sevco not concentrate on filling ibrox first because they seem to have a problem with that
  16. and that is why we will always be considered a diddy club to so many people. Nobody at any time on here has said break the bank to keep ODonnell let's break with amateur way of doing things at this club. Do what other sensible clubs do offer contracts that are good but give the incentive of being performance based and last but not least which is not new and done by many clubs North and South of the border put a clause in if the club is relegated I.e. Drop in wages relative to the league you are playing in. As for what type of player we need I think it's pretty obvious that Stephen ODonnell would be a player you need in the championship certainly was the last time I saw him play there. Of course the club haven't offered him a new deal they know there is no point. Get a grip you are having a laugh
  17. Really it's the clubs fault if Stephen ODonnell goes???? I think all the pro Thistle stuff that he is coming out with is all fine and well but you don't have to be a Rocket scientist to work out that there is a pre contract in there some where. Regardless on your thoughts on Blackpool he would have been offered at least an 18-24 month contract on anything from 3-5 thousand a week. Roughly working out at anything from 150,000 to 250,000 a year. So why turn it down Will Blackpool go bust not at this present moment in time worst case scenario League one football still bigger crowds and some better teams than the SPFL. I personally don't blame the club there might be the security of a 3 year contract elsewhere which we can't match and to be honest Maxi might be be slow at other things but when it comes to what's going down in Scotland re footballing matters I'm sure he has his moles. So best of luck to you Stephen enjoy your trip and remember I'm sure whichever city you decide there will be many discoveries
  18. Without doubt financially it would be much better for him to go to Blackpool could make at least £500,000 over a 2 year period regardless of what Division. Once finished down there back up here to continue with a not too bad contract or better still he performs really really well and is picked up by another Championship side. If you are going Stephen then please make it Blackpool
  19. Good point Willjag would be my bone of contention however I do understand that injuries and suspensions have impacted on that.
  20. Right guys lets put the SFA coaching books down please as like our defence at the moment you are making basic defending a lot more complicated than it is. For the first goal too many basic errors from more than one player, for the second goal as pointed out on Sportscene last night track the runner in the box or block the run which is done on many occasions in many different games across the country. To track the run Balatoni would have had to follow his attacker in the box alas once again he loses his attacker and as a result a goal. Now to look at blocking the run which is probably his best bet due to the amount of movement in the box and his limited ability in being able to track the run. All of the above is basic defending not 3:5:2 or 4:4:2 or 4:1;4;1 and should be practiced ahead of the game i.e. defending set peices and looking at previous footage if they are struggling for footage then contact the BBC as they seemed to have a lot of the same player making similar runs and scoring similar goals at corners. Is this a coaching issue could be as we seem to make the same mistakes a lot of the time..... is this down to the players switching off at key times.... without doubt... but again could again be put down to how much time and emphasis is given to the art of defending at set peices. Whatever your point of view you cant deny that we have lost a number poor poor goals from set peices and that unfortunately reflects at how the side is set up and more importantly how much time is given to practicing that set up. A settled back four would be good however we all know we need a left back I mean its not as if we never knew we needed a left back for the last 12 months
  21. Twaddle is now one of Police Scotland's finest
  22. First goal was perfectly ligit from what I can remember just remember celebrating and the the feeling of utter despair when the ref never gave it. Then for the next couple of minutes the usual feeling of being a Thistle fan and nothing going your way and then back post header 1-1 and there was nothing the ref could do about it celebrations like you have never seen before that and it was a huge Thistle attendance at the game. I think what made it even more sweeter from what I remember it was tight at the bottom of the table and Kilmarnock were getting a result against Rangers which made our game and result even more important
  23. Ah the 1-1 draw with Celtic. Living proof by Tom Smith that as an away team you have to score twice to get a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park. Perfectly good goal not given however made the equaliser all the more sweeter
  24. Still feeling deflated after last night poor poor performance in many ways even if we were down to 10 men. Scott Fox has to really take a look at his positioning its shocking at times. We look more solid at the back with Paul Gallagher who organises the defence much better. I for one would would have started with Seabourne and Frans as Balatoni for me is really not up to the standard required and can or should be looked on as a squad player. I agree that we do have players coming back in Fraser, Higgy and Welsh but Craigen and Elliot dropping to the bench is not excatly great either as thats all the choices we have when we need to change. One thing that gets me is that at times if you come on here and have a pop at Archie then you are not a real supporter but last night showed why he is struggling at times to set up a team with the right formation and positioning for set plays against us. Prime example was Stevie Lawless out on the left against the Celtic left back who was at least a foot and a half bigger any balls to the back post was meat and veg to the full back and dont get me started on Stevie Lawless in the wall at free kicks against that is just sheer stupidity. Ecclestone up front again a strange one as I know Doolan never had his best game against St Johnstone but in a game like last night he leads the line better and is more effective on one to one situations(plus at least he knows how to stay onside). Like anyone else last night it was the capitulation that was the worst thing they chucked it and at times the general organisation was School boy at best and who is that down to. As a manager you must coach/train the players to set up just in case we go down to 10 men and what made it even worse was he had the whole of half time to organise the players and ensure that we remain tight for at least the first 10 mins into the second half. The only thing that was tight in first 10 mins of the second half was Scott Foxs rectum at the thought of a cricket score. I agree that the game would have been tighter if Banjo could engage brain at times and not dive in i.e. dont let the Ref make the decision. Anyway rant over Archie is a legend however the jury is still out if he is the man who can take you on to the next level and by next level I mean consistency i.e. winning 2 league games in the top flight in a row and pushing on from there.
  25. Balatoni is a bombscare and without doubt costs goals anyone that resembles a centre half and can read a game would be nice
