  1. Thistle fans, more than most, have an affinity with their manager. We love looking back at managers past and present and can laugh at them, The Bunnet, appreciate them, McCall and idolise them, Lambie etc. This is a part of supporting a team that other fans seem to miss out on to larger degree, but can sometimes detract from our one true aim, which is to support the Jags no matter what. We were relegated last season. It was terrible. We've not won much, ever, but the last time I looked, I was still Thistle through and through. I know that can be said for every member of this board and thousands of fans at home and at games. Reading others' views is interesting to me and it seems some people love a row. The disappointment is felt by all, no matter how it's expressed. I'll support Thistle regardless and maybe have lower expectations than some. I still have an idea of what success looks like however and some of the things happening to Thistle are beyond my wildest dreams. Having said that, I'd be happy with a top 4 finish and a shot at getting back up. I believe Archie and co can deliver that as they have this window and the January one to make sure it happens. We were relegated on goal difference last year with a poor team and I have every reason to expect this years team to be no worse.
  2. Cheers Marcia, some real good ones on there. Looks like Linfield? got Chvrches. Another top Scottish band.i
  3. 3 wins and a defeat. Would have been harsh to not qualify with 12 teams going through. We had a better record than Ross County who won their group. Hearts played very well today and fair play to them. Aberdeen away is a stick on. Would take Rangers away as gives us that chance that I've been waiting so long for.
  4. Really like Camera Obscura. Wonder if this means they support Thistle. Apologies for attaching Dunfermline but they were posted as pairs.
  5. I'd say that's the furthest south of all of our likely opponents.
  6. Good to get the win. I see these games as a replacement for pre-season games even though they are in the cup. Wouldn't worry too much about fitness just yet and wouldn't expect many players to be at peak fitness in early July, WC aside.
  7. I think we'll be better than then and doubt they'll be any better than they were.
  8. Forgot about Accies. Would feel confident against Accies or Livi.
  9. . That is possible, although I think they will be stone last. Maybe against Killie or Dundee.
  10. I'll be there too for my first game Auld Jag. We'll run them ragged no danger.
  11. Too demoralised to read all of the posts but will give my thoughts. Livi are by far the worst excuse for a football team I've ever seen. They kicked phuck out of us all game and somehow got away with it. The ref seemed to give the opposite of every decision. Their style is like something from the 70's and it's no wonder they continued to elbow, shove, kick and push our players all game with that clown in charge. We really struggled to get wide, especially on the right and the pitch looked really narrow. I honestly think we will annihilate them in the return. I'm sticking a tenner on 5-1.
  12. Sean Welsh is a no brainer for me. We failed miserably to replace him and it's cost us dearly.
  13. Same. Me and my Brother coming up from Corby.
  14. Will the game at Firhill be all ticket?
  15. I take it you like their manager and team and don't think swapping your team with one game to go when you are still challenging for 7th is a bad thing.
  16. Yesssssss Thistle. Can't wait for next week. Better than a Cup Final.
  17. I don't particularly like them or their manager and this is disgusting if they've done that.
  18. c'mon Jags, a draw would do us.
  19. To be fair, they've both been on for 75 minutes and neither has scored. We'll get one soon. 1-1.
  20. I completely get it and am not disagreeing with the logic. I hoped we could win but felt the draw was far worse for them. I'd have taken the play off before a ball was kicked tonight and would do so now. Crowd looked quite big. Anyone know how many?
  21. Goes without saying that the players mind set should be on a win. I'm a fan however and think a draw would just about do me.
  22. Because I can put myself in their shoes. How would we be feeling if we were two points adrift with 2 games to go, with Dundee in our next game and then St. Johnstone away? To top it off, the team above us had gone 3 games undefeated with a win and 2 draws. And before anyone asks, yes, I would take the play off right now.
  23. Win would obviously be great but I'd take a draw in this one. I think we will win but 2 points ahead with two to play isn't too bad either. Wouldn't change the team after two very good results recently. Get behind the team and show them what it means to be Thistle through and through!!
