  1. Looks fairly violent to me- forearm smash?
  2. Really? I’m not even sure it’s the wrong decision, it looked close to a punch. If not it was a very aggressive push with full arm extension. Muirhead probably should have been booked for the armlock to be fair
  3. From where I was standing, their header was in without the block- to turn that into a goal for us was marvellous
  4. Plenty of free parking on Murano St and roads off it
  5. Not technically, no. They would have stayed up had they won. But, they still had one more game and the play-offs to save themselves after
  6. “That” game at Airdrie (Elliot) relegated them
  7. I noticed that and thought I’d have a look at their form- lost their last 6 games. Caldwell looking to be weaving his “magic” again
  8. Depends on how success and failure is to be defined from the period he took over. I do think if he finishes 5th, but with a PPG over his tenure that would have won the league extended over a full season (which is entirely possible) and a greatly improved PPG than his predecessor, then it is not truly a failure. The failure really lies elsewhere. I certainly wouldn't be looking to replace him if that came to pass, in any case. Of course, Doolan's real test is next season (whether we go up or not), when his recruitment skills will become apparent.
  9. For a bit of context- since Doolan took over, we've earned 1.81 points per game. Our PPG at the time of McCall's departure was 1.57. Dundee are presently on 1.73 PPG.
  10. It might be interesting to see if Doolan might be able to get something out of Smith. He’s proven at this level, despite being dire for us
  11. Lost the tie, but not the match. I think it counts as a draw statistically
  12. Would've been interesting to know what the crowd would have been for our L1 clinching win v. Falkirk in the closed doors season
  13. The save just before the penalty was excellent too- pretty much the first thing he had to do
  14. I think Ross County is a closer comparison
  15. No it’s not good enough, but it’s a little better than losing at home to the bottom 2 in consecutive games
  16. We’ve also doubled the number of league clean sheets this season the past two games
  17. I really doubt he would have taken us up to be honest. I have tended to back him, but think he falls a wee bit short at this level if promotion is your main goal (he’s more than good enough to keep you in this division). So we gamble tier 2 safety for a better chance at promotion. Incidentally, for context, here’s the form table for our last 5 games (4 of which were at home)
  18. I know, in my first post in this thread I credited McCall for saving is twice over from being another Clyde. If we ever find ourselves in League 1 or in danger of going down there again I would have no hesitation whatsoever in rehiring McCall. McCall and McNamara together laid the foundations (McNamara signed the defence, Lawless, Craig etc..
  19. Archibald went with Shaggy- hardly experienced- ultimately successful for a number of seasons
  20. Virtually no managers would be successful by that criteria- Archie lost his way, but was our most successful manager in ages with promotion and 5 years in the top division. If our next appointment manages that, I won’t complain. McNamara was more limited but did lay the foundations and ultimately was a good appointment
  21. Absolutely not Lennon- a rapist apologist and shite at Clyde anyway. Just no
  22. One way of looking at the timing is the last 3 games have close to ensured we’re not winning anything this season (although the playoffs admittedly remain a possibility)
  23. So was MacNamara and Archibald- both did well
  24. It feels slightly odd timing, but ultimately that’s 3 games running we’ve lost, two of which against the bottom sides. Possibly, McCall was being given this game to save himself after the disaster of the previous two weeks. Unlike many on here, I quite like McCall and think he (again) saved us from being another Clyde. However, like before, I didn’t feel he was going to take us further. Of course this is risky- McCall is a decent manager at this level and would be unlikely to relegate us (he inherited an absolute cluster**** the Covid season). But if we have any ambition, sadly, I think this is the correct decision
