  1. You're thinking of Brad McKay - who is dogshit. I think stillresigned's talking about Dave Mackay, who is definitely not. But he's predominantly a right-back and also injured, I'm sure. So although he ticks the box for experience, he isn't what we need.
  2. I'd love Henderson but not sure how realistic it is. Ideal replacement for Bannigan, IMO.
  3. Can't say I'd be too impressed with him re-signing. He's a bottom six/Championship level defender and if we have aspirations for the top six then we should be looking to do better, IMHO.
  4. Agree with that. Also agree with Archie's media approach of not shying away from blaming him; I'm looking forward to seeing how he bounces back. Thought Devine had a great game on Saturday, fwiw.
  5. Even after Osman got his yellow, he was going to ground for tackles. Fair enough he won the ball pretty much every time but it felt a little risky.
  6. Just read Archie's reaction on the official website where he says Welsh will be fined. Good stuff.
  7. Welsh wanted off that pitch early. There's no doubt in my mind. It looked like a foul all day long, he picked up a yellow and then he mouthed off to Beaton for no real reason. About half a dozen Thistle fans were shouting at Welsh to ******* button it after about 20 seconds of him hurling abuse at the ref. Once he kept going you knew he was off and you can't blame the ref for that. Welsh should be embarrassed. All in all, we were okay today. Could've been a whole different game if Amoo squared it to Azeez at our 2v1 but that's football.
  8. Hope he can put in that sort of performance in the World Cup qualifiers; he was fantastic last night. James Forrest was also excellent (a sentence I didn't think I'd ever type).
  9. Thistle have just tweeted: "Scott MacKenzie's development squad head to @officialEKFC this evening. Kick off at K-Park is 7:30pm. Admission is £4/£2." I still quite fancy it, though.
  10. Depends how close the deal with Dundee was to getting done before it collapsed.
  11. Just throwing a name out there. He would be our first choice option until probably at least January anyway. Maybe one to monitor as the window progresses and he's left with no real options (although I'd imagine Hamilton will always remain an option).
  12. Dundee boss says Ziggy Gordon deal will not be revived Talks broke down between Dundee and the player back in May. It is understood negotiations between Gordon and clubs south of the border have also come to nothing. Don't know if he's asking for far too much but he would really solve our little right-back crisis. I'm more concerned about finding a quality central defender so if we could tie a deal up with Gordon, who's always looked a steady player at this level, it would just leave us that final position to fill. I wonder if Archie's at all interested.
  13. Nonsense. Osman was a trialist and he's one of our most important players.
  14. I heard he was a knob at the Player of the Year awards. I'd never begrudge him leaving for extra money but he got in the Scotland squad with us. Fair enough on the League Cup win. But Thistle and County are clubs with similar ambitions (but different budgets) while his comments pretended otherwise. I think I'll always be a bit pissed off at a key squad member leaving us for Killie/County/Motherwell, to be honest. I wasn't at that game so couldn't comment on the abuse he took but yes I've heard it was a bit much.
  15. There's a way to leave a club and a way not to. Erskine, Craigen and now Frans have done it with class. Paton and Fox handled it like pricks. All the best to the big man.
  16. I'm away on holiday from the 20th for just short of three weeks so I'll miss every match except the first one. Hoping it's Stranraer/Annan Athletic/Berwick Rangers away!
  17. The Davie McParland Stand and The John Lambie Bing. Make it happen Maxi.
  18. Killie have binned Ashcroft, Connolly and Slater. Saw a wee rumour of Slater to Aberdeen, but I'd definitely take Connolly as a replacement for Seaborne.
  19. There's no chance relegation for Kilmarnock would be positive in the slightest. Their finances are terrible as it is. They'd be competing against similar clubs looking for a 'fresh start' in Hibernian, Dundee United and St. Mirren and so would most likely be stuck down there for the foreseeable future. Much better to stay up and have that fresh start as a top flight team. Their squad isn't terrible in the way Dundee United's is, so no real need to "clear the decks". A few signings are needed, sure, but it's not too drastic. The hit they would take financially would be.
  20. On paper I can see your point but they've been playing well and getting results. I reckon they'll do it. Vaulks, Alston, Sibbald are all very good.
  21. We budget for 11th, don't we? So although it's a position down from last season, it's still good news in that sense.
