That's exactly right. After listening to him I'd be completely on his side ... if I'd never actually watched any of the games his team played. But the way he spoke about taking responsibility as manager (and didn't he say it would all be on him at the meet-the-manager nights) only to now abrogate the sacking of Doolan onto other individuals at the club is pretty poor form. Also, just because players at the club don't want to be unprofessional by publicly explaining why they think you're shite doesn't mean it's all a "fabrication." How he treats players is something Caldwell should seriously consider if he is ever to actually manage elsewhere. But, it's all over and done with, as Charlie and Craig might say.

But if the rest of the playground can't hear them, how will they know their opinions are important?

If they offer to renovate the stadium and maybe at least drag the toilet facilities into the twentieth century, they'll get my backing

So people don't trust Beattie and the rest of the board to do what's best for the club. I'm just wondering why that is. Because we don't know a lot about the consortium? As I just posted maybe they think it's not worth announcing their plans before they're in a position to implement those plans. If it's such a worry to those who aren't shareholders, the best thing - the only thing - to do is tell the club they won't be back to Firhill until they are better informed. I don't think anyone in this 165 page thread has announced they're boycotting until all their questions are answered.

Well, I hope David Beattie and the rest of the board are doing a bit more than tossing a coin. As I said before Beattie and the others came back and have halted the disastrous spending plans of Low and replaced a very unpopular manager with a very popular one. So they seem to know what they're doing. Why should we think they're being short sighted, selfish and greedy when it comes to selling the club?

The only people they have to convince right now are the board. Perhaps they think it's better to wait to show off their grand plans to encourage fans to come along to Firhill until they actually in a position to deliver. Or perhaps they don't care at all.

The current board members who were in attendance at the last Q&A were positive about the prospect of the consortium and how they might improve the club. The chairman seems to be positive too. I recall those board members stating that they've put money into the club in the past because they are fans. Generally it seems that people are happy that Jacqui Low is out the door along with her disastrous choice of manager, and Beattie bringing in Ian McCall has been a good thing. It seems though that some people feel the current board are now simply interested in making a quick buck and don't care at all about the future of Thistle. Why is that? Why are they suddenly untrustworthy?

Perhaps people think that neither of these two options sound particularly good.

It probably would have been kept out of the public arena, but blabbermouths here and everywhere else on social media couldn't contain their "I know something you don't know" pish.

All excellent points ARu-Strathbungo, except that Firhill won't "eventually" need serious investment, it needed serious investment ten years ago at the very least.
