  1. That's him! Sent by Dundee Utd to cripple us.
  2. I don't remember the precise game, but maybe around 6-8 years ago, I managed to get to a game at Firhill for the first time in a few years, and heard for the first time "Oh Maryhill is wonderful.....," and absolutely loved it! I think the slow introduction lasted a bit longer back then than now.
  3. Most statuesque player I ever saw for us must be Sammy Johnston. I actually thought that his C-3PO-like movements were due to some kind of physical disability. I was right: a footballing disability. A close second is yon Dundee United loanee keeper in the 90s. Never made a save, because he never moved...... until it was too late. Worst keeper we ever had.
  4. Highly recommended: The "Gameday" video on Youtube, for great footage of the pre-match warm-up, alternative views of the action, and Kingsley's celebration of the third goal! And how good was Lawless!!!
  5. Ahem, may I mention McCrea Financial Services....? ETA: Oops, I just noticed the "In roofs"! Not sure now about whether my post makes any sense (as mentioned in an earlier post: "No surprise there.").
  6. I'd love that, but to be honest, in Maryhill I wonder how long it would last. I seem to remember that the Loby Dosser statue in Woodlands either got nicked or badly damaged. That's why I suggested somewhere inside the stadium, or else erected at a height in or in front of the facade of the main stand. I'd contribute to it. (A statue, not the theft or damage!)
  7. So? We fail in almost every season (you might say without fail!). Should we never try a new manager? Or players, for that matter?
  8. Excellent topic. The training complex was touted to all the press by the club, just like the development of the city end of the stadium..... all just more bullsh*t from PTFC. It has been a shameful insult to the memory of the great man, and I would also say to his family. However, as the club has previous of stabbing Davie in the back (remember the understanding that Hugh Strachan would be kept on as a coach?), he might well shrug his shoulders and say "No surprise there." Ideas?: Commission Brewdog for a new beer to be known as McParland's PT (pale and tasty). Could start a trend at many clubs! Or, the McParland Pie. Or, a supporter-funded statue somewhere prominent inside the stadium (or in a specially constructed alcove on the facade of the main stand overlooking Firhill Road; at least until it gets demolished).
  9. Is that a young Billy MacDonald partaking of the forbidden fruit?
  10. So, for the nth time you say that "people who made the decisions" should be nowhere near the club. What, exactly, do you want to see take place? A "cunning plan" hatched to get them out now, regardless of any cost (as if two wrongs make a right)? For them to confess their sins and resign? For supporters to hold some kind of "court proceedings" where accuser and defendants can plead their cases? And who would be the accuser? Or would you simply like to see your own personal prejudices fulfilled, regardless?
  11. The "Killie" ("no so f*ckin' silly) song also makes us look like a wee team with a perennial chip on its shoulder against a much more successful team than us. ETA: Now that the old queen has expired, does that mean that the "Hello Hello" song will also fade into history? Or is some wordsmith trying to come up with a rhyme for "king"?
  12. A good chance for the women to reaffirm that they're continuing to get stronger.
  13. Of course, plenty of players who have been on loan at Thistle have gone on to have decent or even very good careers. But the original question was how many became stars at the club that loaned the player to us. It seems..... none.
  14. Just a thought about the "cosy club" and "jobs for the boys" mentality that some people claim permeates Firhill: I give you Gary Caldwell. How does that appointment fall into the category? And how cosy and successful was that experience?
  15. I haven't called for anybody to be dropped.
  16. "A bad bit of luck," according to Doolan.
  17. Hard men of other teams against us: Roy Barry (Pars), Davy Holt (tarts). Although Holt was a Thistle player in 69-70, I have no recollection of seeing him in any matches (but that also applies to player who played for us just a few seasons ago!). John Greig was also pretty hard, I reckon.
  18. Ah, so is it the Challenge Cup? If so, I hope we lose early on. Much bigger fish to fry.
