  1. "Also pictured are McLindon and Bone." Wrong, and wrong!
  2. I could stare (or stair) at that all day!
  3. All the best to Wasiri in his time as a Thistle player. Hope he'll have lots of success!
  4. Akinola, Rudden, Jakubiak..... and some people talk about "jobs for the boys" at Firhill! Surely we can do better than these mediocrities, or at least try somebody new that will interest supporters.
  5. This. I thought he was a real dud for us.
  6. Maybe Doolan and the operations team could graft a head onto him.
  7. I agree that we could do worse than signing Rudden for his work rate alone. Doolan had the front players moving into spaces almost constantly, and Rudden's ability to buzz around (even sometimes aimlessly!) could be useful.
  8. I always liked him; one of the old school, always polite, modest, and thought carefully about what he was saying. He became a kind of "elder statesman" of football in Scotland. The national team won 32 and drew 18 of 71 games played when he was the manager. Not bad at all! R.I.P.
  9. The sheer volume and diversity of items researched and made available to all by TTA team is just jaw-dropping. Eternal gratitude from me, and I'm sure many others!
  10. Love it! A piece of club history, but not yet even 15 years old!
  11. All power to you and the team, Airdrie Jag. Unsung heroes (who deserve some public recognition, on the website or matchday programme, for example, or even some kind of reward, like a hospitality package, if that doesn't already happen). I really would volunteer if I lived in Scotland. But I don't, and so I can only give moral support from afar.
  12. Probably a wise move for the comedian. Oops Fawlty Towers beat me to it!
  13. I wouldn't worry about it; the entire population of Fife is routinely unfashionably out of date.
  14. Perhaps more than anybody, Dowds was a disappointment last season. In fact, unbelievably so. From the games that I watched, there was nothing to excite. I kept hoping that "this time" he was going to do something..... but..... no, actually never. Maybe he will do better at another club.
  15. I also basically hate this kind of circus. But hey, like almost every other club (doing the same thing), we need money, and this arrangement looks just fine. It's temporary; remember when every Jagzone match commentary started with "Welcome to the Energy Check Firhill Stadium" or something like that? Annoying, but totally ephemeral, and Firhill remains, and always will remain, Firhill. Let's be grateful for the sponsorship! Well done to the staff for securing this deal!
  16. My random prediction: this guy will be immense for us!
  17. Great stuff! Is it too much to hope for, that the entire footage still exists and might be unearthed one day......
  18. Another two years of Brian Graham infuriatingly backing into defenders while falling down on his erse with his hands up and him shouting at the ref for a foul, which usually doesn't get given, then missing a couple of sitters. Then........ either a brilliant one-touch assist for somebody else to score, or scoring himself! If that's to be the pattern in every match, bring it on!
  19. A new ground? A rebuild on the existing Firhill? What might that look like? A total capacity of 4,000? One stand, or two ? Six, 8, or 10,000? Two stands a-la Hamilton? Or maybe three, like at Falkirk and ICT? (And currently Firhill?) Or why not go the whole hog and have only one stand (Dumbarton, Methil....) Suffice it to say that all of current Premiership teams have 4-sided seating in their stadiums, and how things played out at the play-off 2nd leg ensured that that would continue. Like us, several others clubs , with their lopsided embarrassments (Accies, Falkirk, Raith, ICT) have been allowed a taste of life in the top tier, but no more. Wouldn't be surprised to see even Dunfermline being allowed to make it back (even through a play-off) before us. Why? Well, just because, their stadium looks like the real deal, compared to a decrepit and deteriorating place like, well, Firhill.
  20. Well, they can transport their brand of "ultimate also rans" to Dundee, while we get on looking for winners.
  21. Aye, which is more than our lot have done in the past half-century.
  22. Brilliant! Now there's a challenge for any aspiring programme collector..... I wonder how many of those matches had a programme or team-sheet!
