  1. You mean like simply changing the manager when the team's form slumps?
  2. I thought that Thistle's passing game and the use of some forward passes through midfield or over the top were about the best I've seen from them this season. The defence looked solid too, apart from the late lapse.
  3. What's the "free ride" you're claiming? Criticisms of his selections, substitutions, tactics and overall performance have been almost non-stop (by some people) since the start of the season.
  4. Supreme confidence: this Jag is showing a victory sign even before releasing his shot! But, who is he?
  5. Currently the Jags are 3-0 up, with maybe more to come. Now 4-0
  6. The Ayr live stream died for the last 30 minutes, so I saw nothing of Lawless. I hope you're right, because his few late appearances so far have shown nothing of his pre-injury form. Stanway: I'd have him starting in midfield every time, rather than the predictable, slow-the-game-down midfield performances that we've been seeing for months (that includes Turner, highly over-rated, imo). Mitchell: maybe the only starter (with Milne) to get pass marks at Ayr. Throw-ins: 100% agreement; a complete waste of time for us (like 90% of our corners and free-kicks around their penalty box).
  7. An Ayr fan's video of the "spectacle" is now posted on Youtube. Poor passing, poor first touches, poor defending, lack of movement.... it's a feast for the eyes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gl9Z1iC2ijw
  8. Ayr haven't even broken sweat; no need for them to do so. We are 2-0 down, yet we go through the training routine of five or six passes back or sideways half-way inside our own half, for absolutely no fathomable reason. This gets repeated every time. And if a player finds himself in a forward position, he'll make sure the ball goes back so that the useless passing can be practiced even more. And then inevitably, and it really is inevitably, we lose possession after a hopeless punt or a low pass to one of our players who is running back to receive the pass with at least one guy right on his tail. Honestly, I can't figure out any game plan at all, from the very start. The whole team is pedestrian; even taking a shy takes them an eternity, and nine times out of ten we've lost the ball within 5 seconds. Nobody, but nobody in this team so far deserves any praise.
  9. Anybody else hoping to watch the live stream? No sign of the coverage starting yet....
  10. Remember "TrainingGroundgate;" yet another illusory "major development" that was going to help PTFC to spring forward into a new era? Remember the City End "development" which led to (gave the Board an excuse to) demolish the largest remaining section of terracing in Scottish football, leaving us with nothing but the eyesore of the bing? Anyway, all water under the bridge, of course, but while looking on the Ayr Utd site to see about a live stream for today's game, I watched a very upbeat interview with their chairman about their recent acquisition of a vacant 8-acre plot of empty land right next to their stadium. They got it after negotiations with the German company that owned the land, and are now thinking about how to best use it; one strong contender is to build a complete training stadium. Not bad after the recent major redevelopment of the decrepit old terracing across from their old stand (also decrepit). Got nothing against the Honest Men, so good luck to them. Hope we hammer them today!
  11. Aye, the auld jokes are still the best!
  12. Stephan Bonnes...... Celtic.....5-year contract! 🤣🤣😂😂 Then he came to us...... 😒😧😞
  13. I reckon he might be the player most hated by defenders of the other teams we play against in this division. That's good enough for me!
  14. Yes, that's why points average per match would be a more accurate measure (of depressiveness, if that word even exists).
  15. Saw this on the official site. Who are the two Jags? Is that the jester top?
  16. Adeloye made a good impression, but where has it got him this season?: a position as bench warmer week after week.
  17. That would be interesting. I'd also like to see the points totals in relation to the number of matches played, as that obviously must be a factor.
  18. That's the way of things at all kinds of auctions. Not only that, but auction houses also charge the seller (not sure about this jersey sale, though).
  19. Another "impressive," depressing stat!: Of the 17 clubs still in existence who have been in Scotland's top league in the past 30 years (no Gretna; question over sevco), Thistle have amassed, by some considerable margin, the lowest number of points. Bottom rung!
  20. That's a very interesting stat, thanks! I wonder if his overall "role" in the last 25 minutes or so changes (e.g., lying deeper? Helping out more in defence? Plain knackered?)
  21. I wondered whether to start with "Unfortunately" or not, but anyway: if we bring in a striker, it's someone who will need to accept sitting on the bench for almost every match, getting very little game time as long as BG is fit. Even if BG's goals dry up (again) for several games on the trot, because he just might score one he appears to be the first name on the team sheet every time. The thing is.... most strikers also have "barren spells." But any striker at Firhill who doesn't score when he comes on for the last 15 minutes or so, or in the one or two matches he gets to start, is destined to be a bench warmer until such times BG isn't doing what he currently does. That's unlikely to be the most attractive option for a loanee looking for game time.
  22. Congrats on such a good memory, TL ! I got reminded of a few good (and not so good) situations from that period.
  23. Looks like a quartet of Hollywood stars from the 40s.
