  1. Do you want the club to simply stop it? What's your great idea to get new supporters? Don't just slag off others, or talk in abstracts. What is your great idea, that's so good that there's no need to pilot it or use any resources for it. C'mon, now's your chance to help the club! Give specifics!
  2. Dunno about others, but wind is always a great leveller for me. Brings anybody within olfactory range down to my level.
  3. I know we're meant to be the great Glasgow alternative, but are we becoming a team of Celtic apprentice bhoys?
  4. Finally got logged into their live stream system at half time, despite paying well before the start of the game. The lack of commentary notwithstanding, the quality of the coverage was very good, and the images were crystal clear. I must admit to getting worried near the end when our midfield seemed to be losing it, they were making some great runs down our left flank, and we were giving away needless fouls (O'Reilly the main culprit). Given all of that, we still had the better chances, with a few on-target shots blocked and their keeper making at least two smart saves. Another good result and performance. But, why pass side to side three or four times, even back to the keeper during those passes, and then just hoof the ball upfield. Honestly, what is the point, other than passing for passing's sake?
  5. ..... scored in the last minute or so!
  6. Hundreds of Thistle programmes from the 1970s into the 2010s. Home and Away, and a few odds and sods. They're in three large plastic containers. Free for anyone interested to come and collect (in Glasgow).
  7. The BBC extorts money from the public to pay too many people too much for presenting fake products. In short, it's a massive scam.
  8. And for some reason, the more mistakes and tactical errors you make as a pundit only seem to strengthen your job security!
  9. Agreed; great to see KD as a pundit (hope he gets more such work), and it was an enjoyable game to watch, with very little pointless side to side passing in your own half.
  10. Watched that game; it was a good, hard fought game. Good to see Kris Doolan giving comments too.
  11. Their fourth goal was a perfect example of that. A stupid short corner, followed by passback after passback until we end up in our own half, ffs, and then an error (naturally) and another goal conceded. Still too much leisurely passing back and across our own half for no apparent reason. O'Reilly seems incapable of changing. Gets the ball, walks forward, immediately stops and passes back. Every time; he's Bannigan all over again. Might as well comment on others: Budinaukas: blameable for the second goal: an odd, weak flap at the ball. Otherwise handling fine. Kicks NEVER went to a Thistle player. Logan: Can't blame him for getting a torrid time. Didn't get much protection from his team mates. Reading: Did as well as could be expected. O'Reilly: Mr slow-the-game-down-stop-and-pass-back-man. Ashcroft: Passable, but when the defence loses four goals.... Stanway: Got in a lot of tackles, got a good header on target. Passable. Letsosa: Anonymous in the first half, slightly more presence in the second half. Chalmers: Anonymous for most of the game. I think he was hanging back to help Logan out in the first half, but made little difference. They were tearing us apart there. Crawford: Anonymity personified in that performance. Watt: Battled hard and caused them problems, but too often stranded alone. Fitzpatrick: Gave a good showing, forcing past and through them a couple of times. Wasted a good chance near the end. Subs: McBeth: Looked dozy and slow to release the ball when he had it. With an unfortunate result. Smyth: Okay Lawless: Okay Turner: Okay Samuel: Okay
  12. On paper, it's maybe the strongest we can field, in view of players who are cup-tied and injured etc. But some potentially useful substitutes ready to muck in as well.
  13. Will try to put quill to parchment (i.e., fingers to keyboard) in the next few days.
  14. Thanks for that, Jagfox. I don't know Jim personally, but remember him well from the Northwest supporters bus and at almost all Thistle matches in the 70s. Good to know that he's still following the Jags as much as possible, with the help of his friend.
  15. That all sounds sensible to me.
  16. By the way, the attendance at the Killie vs Celtic game last weekend was 8,499. When I watched highlights the first thing that struck me was the sight of so many unoccupied seats.
  17. In any case, this situation highlights the fact that if there was either a terracing or another stand at the city end of the stadium then it would at least sometimes bring in income.
  18. According to the BBC fixtures list (the "world's most trusted"), we're playing Celtic on Sunday afternoon. According to Partick Thistle FC, we're playing Celtic on Friday evening. Take your pick.
  19. Hmm, will Partick Thistle ever have a full Scottish International player on their books again?
  20. Rab was clearly a cherished "Big Jags Man," which is how I heard Robert Reid introducing some folk at various occasions. By the way, I recognize the other Big Jags Man to Rab's left, but his name eludes me just now. Can anybody help with his name?
  21. What about the outcome? Which will it be?: - Celtic demolish hapless Jags - Plucky Thistle fight hard but lose out on penalties/a 93rd minute VAR penalty/due to their perfectly good goal being inexplicably disallowed - Partick Thistle go ballistic...... ?
