  1. I reckon he might be the player most hated by defenders of the other teams we play against in this division. That's good enough for me!
  2. Yes, that's why points average per match would be a more accurate measure (of depressiveness, if that word even exists).
  3. Saw this on the official site. Who are the two Jags? Is that the jester top?
  4. Adeloye made a good impression, but where has it got him this season?: a position as bench warmer week after week.
  5. That would be interesting. I'd also like to see the points totals in relation to the number of matches played, as that obviously must be a factor.
  6. That's the way of things at all kinds of auctions. Not only that, but auction houses also charge the seller (not sure about this jersey sale, though).
  7. Another "impressive," depressing stat!: Of the 17 clubs still in existence who have been in Scotland's top league in the past 30 years (no Gretna; question over sevco), Thistle have amassed, by some considerable margin, the lowest number of points. Bottom rung!
  8. That's a very interesting stat, thanks! I wonder if his overall "role" in the last 25 minutes or so changes (e.g., lying deeper? Helping out more in defence? Plain knackered?)
  9. I wondered whether to start with "Unfortunately" or not, but anyway: if we bring in a striker, it's someone who will need to accept sitting on the bench for almost every match, getting very little game time as long as BG is fit. Even if BG's goals dry up (again) for several games on the trot, because he just might score one he appears to be the first name on the team sheet every time. The thing is.... most strikers also have "barren spells." But any striker at Firhill who doesn't score when he comes on for the last 15 minutes or so, or in the one or two matches he gets to start, is destined to be a bench warmer until such times BG isn't doing what he currently does. That's unlikely to be the most attractive option for a loanee looking for game time.
  10. Congrats on such a good memory, TL ! I got reminded of a few good (and not so good) situations from that period.
  11. Looks like a quartet of Hollywood stars from the 40s.
  12. Robphil, You've met and interviewed numerous greats during your career. Please allow me to ask: Which ones (if any) were you "in awe" of, who were the most satisfying or interesting to meet/interview, and who were the.... let's say, least engaging? Did any of them surprise you in any way? No professional secrets need be disclosed!
  13. RIP. Outstanding player. The only time I ever saw him other than on tv was the 1-1 draw between Scotland and West Germany, 1969. However, my best memory of that match was Bobby Murdoch's late, great equalizer.
  14. Aw naw.... anybody got a plan B? Come to think of it JJ never proposes his own plan B.
  15. Haha. It seems to be true: the better you play for Thistle, the more likely you are to have a shorter "sentence," as you're more likely to be sent to another institution.
  16. A guess, based on the players' body language:... draw!
  17. Even if it has been posted, it's great to see (again). A bit before my time, so no idea who the players are; I assume that's Motherwell? Excellent crowd, by the look of the terracing.
  18. Maybe in some kind of sanctuary, with similar creatures?
  19. Spent most of his time grunting and screeching about the board, probably while scratching his baws. A bit like one of his cousins who posts these days (but tends to shut up when we've won).
  20. Great result in the end. My relatives who were watching on tv and chatting on WhatsApp were emphasizing our walking-paced, sideways and backwards passing, leading to absolutely no openings and combined with a lack of movement up front. Judging from many of the comments on this thread, many if not most other people see these issues clearly. So why doesn't Doolan? PS: They also said that Graham was honking: terrible ball control, terrible passing, too slow. We need to be lucky that he actually gets one tap-in on target per game.
  21. It would be interesting to know how many first- and second-half goals we've scored at each end of Firhill over the past several seasons (or whenever this superstitious starting the match facing the north end started).
  22. Just saw a photo: I like that Accies top. Maybe it's not to the taste of some folk who don't like mustard, which I love!
  23. Old pretenders at that. Let's see more of our young pretenders!
