  1. That's surely why whenever Harkins a year or two ago or Erskine now gets the ball there's a roar of anticipation from the fans, as we get to see somebody running right at defenders and with a chance of leaving them for dead.
  2. Ah, I knew there was another insult, but I couldn't be bothered going back to find out what precisely it was. Nice also to see the correct spelling of "embarrassing".
  3. When we got relegated and the beloved Arabs got back up to the SPL the powers that be quickly decided to raise the drawbridge, to make it more difficult for any of the favoured SPL teams ever to get relegated.
  4. So far today you've alluded to cretins, sweetie wives and half-wits on the forum. Somebody ruffle your feathers?
  5. I guess for Elvis it's now or never.
  6. But I think there was a general feeling that the team was steadily improving in the last couple of months, with some youngsters especially starting to look the part (though it's early days), and Stewart looking like he could be a bit of a player when fully match fit. We've only lost two regulars from that period, Balatoni (I'd say the more important to replace), and Boyle, who improved to the point of being a decent left back, but no more than that. Still plenty of time before the season starts for one or two additions to strengthen the squad.
  7. There are actually some good ideas in there. With the massive roof surfaces on top of all the stands I'd imagine that a decent amount of solar energy could be captured. Don't the club also own the land between the stadium and the nolly? If so, get a wind turbine or two up there!
  8. I know a Jags man in Coleraine. Don't think he posts on here, though.
  9. I promise to stop soon. I'd be raven mad not to.
  10. What is it with ex-Thistle players and falling fowl of the law?
  11. Happy enough to accept JM's verdict here. Let's hope there's a better player inside him just waiting to be unleashed.
  12. Like some fungal infections, they're difficult to get rid of entirely.
  13. Ha ha, for years now every new strip has caused a real difference of opinion between the haters and the lovers. Every new strip is unique, and in that respect this one is no different from the others.
  14. Some good points there. For me, Stewart is the one that I wanted to see sign, and we've got him. I'm looking forward to seeing how the youngsters do, including our new left-sided players. Bring it all on!
  15. That's because too many of those involved weren't the full shilling.
  16. I'm never around in the pre-season, so I don't know what any of the trips have been like. But there seems to have been some memorable away-days. What are the best, and why?
  17. Hmm, Liverpool away strip: http://chefsnews.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/liverpool-away-2011-12.jpg
  18. It'll certainly be an interesting exercise in "self-policing" by the fans and stewards of PTFC, and many other clubs and the media will be paying a lot of attention to it. This is actually another "scoop" for the club (like U-16s for free, the pink strips...), so the club should make sure it gets plenty of media coverage. However, nae polis at or around Firhill.....my advice is leave the car at home on matchdays.
  19. More on the sponsorship deal in tonight's ET: http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/editor-s-picks/beattie-six-figure-deal-puts-spring-in-our-step-1.1106722 Seems like we've got McCall to thank for the deal getting off the ground.
  20. We've already got Archie and Rowser, both veterans, to bring on the youngsters. All I can really see McCann doing, if he's even fit, is slowing down all our moves. I did quite admire him years ago, but it has seemed to me for some time that he's finished.
  21. Nae polis at Firhill. Best result in years!
  22. A couple of excellent points there.
