  1. Seeing Dundee in the play-off spot would be brilliant.
  2. Shame, as he definitely strengthened our midfield, especially from an attacking perspective. Time for one of the youngsters to show that they can cut it?
  3. Jorge Cadette springs to mind too.
  4. Grehan continues to look as if he'll never score. And yet he has been working hard, knocking balls down to others, holding up well when required. I'd be tempted to hold on to him for a while yet. Maybe Shaun Fraser will come good precociously, but if not then we definitely do need somebody else who is able to put the ball in the net more than just every once in a blue moon.
  5. You can be sure that a lot of people, even Thistle fans, would pay nothing, or a quid at most. It would be a financial disaster, though a nice gesture if the club could get the cost of staging the match covered by sponsors. Maybe best for a pre-season friendly, to give people a taster. But then again....
  6. The paxmanization of the political interview. A good number of the interviewers are just as bad as the politicians for not listening to what gets said.
  7. This division is definitely more interesting than the SPL; with the exception of Stirling Albion, it's really not that easy to predict the outcome of matches. I reckon that the attendance at Cowdenbeath on Saturday will be greater than at Firhill.
  8. This Dunfermline lotto looks very interesting, with a weekly draw and attractive jackpots. http://www.parslotto.com/default.asp In fact, I might even have a flutter.
  9. So, the Pars go top of the league. I'm thinking that they might have a bit more staying power than Raith Rovers. So Hardie and Buchanan may well be featuring in the SPL next season. How frustrating will it be to see Liam finding the net against the h*ns and tims (maybe) after we offloaded him for nothing! Got to hand it to Cowdenbeath, though. Yet another draw against a "fancied" team last night. The play-off spot is still up for grabs!
  10. Clicking on that link and seeing the photo of Somerset Park made me realise what great days out I've had in Ayr, some of them involving watching Thistle!
  11. "The SFA added: "Scotland supporters are known for impeccable behaviour.""
  12. Agreed. He even got past somebody on the outside in one recent game!
  13. If what Paton is reported as saying here is true, then McCall should offer him a new deal right away. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk:80/sport/paton-prays-for-thistle-deal-after-season-ends-1.1093390
  14. Hmm, I can certainly see why it would be worth pretending to be a cricket fan in those circumstances...
  15. Whilst idly browsing I came across these photos of the supporters' shrine to Tommy Burns when he died. I noticed a Jags top and scarf in two separate photos. And I suppose that the presence of some H*n scarves means that there is a glimpse of hope in the black, primitive swamp of the old firm, or is that too optimistic? http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xOcdlFOsr4s/TEgKyko8AwI/AAAAAAAAFBQ/p1xuSbRv_Lk/s1600/burns14.jpg&imgrefurl=http://glasgowalbum.blogspot.com/2010/07/tommy-burns-tribute-16-may-2009.html&usg=__muS3xmn6-61E1NAQB2qs0aOa0fU=&h=600&w=800&sz=148&hl=en&start=46&sig2=zh-WssYjvmegQTQzCEsKCg&zoom=1&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=3MRPwhnZSTjC5M:&tbnh=107&tbnw=143&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpartick%2Bthistle%2Bscarf%26start%3D40%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D20%26tbs%3Disch:1&ei=hdGQTb7sHc6XhQf-l6jGDg
  16. Maybe so, but imo what has really cost us is that we've lost far too many games to diddy teams.
  17. That's one sub-editor who's plumbed the depths.
  18. Only £30 for the whole experience. Now that is one really excellent offer! http://www.ptfc.co.uk/news/2010-2011/march_2011/hospitality_v_ross_county_16_04_11 C'mon, students....who'll be the first to ask for a further discount?
  19. Tonght's Evening Times has a report on Saturday's game which focuses on Ryan McGowan, which is fair enough. But the headline is a terrible attempt to work in bad puns, to the point that it's meaningless. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk:80/sport/ryan-s-express-is-huge-firhill-box-office-draw-1.1093118 The "journalists" really hack me off.
  20. That's pretty much what Chris Erskine does to try to beat a defender. He points one foot straight, and the other one the opposite way. Or is it both the opposite way? No, wait a minute, he points one foot to the left and the other to the right. I mean both to the left. Ach feck it, you all saw the end result on Saturday.
  21. Great, Hamilton Accies and Man Utd considered together! I don't have the stats at hand, but somehow I doubt whether Accies lost only 3 away games in 15, which is currently the case for Utd. When Accies won the league they, like everybody else, were no great shakes. But their artificial pitch gave them a great home advantage.
