  1. Everybody too feart tae start the Accies match thread? Here goes... I'll leave the poll to somebody else, as that's the real jinx. As far as I can see, the only certainty is Robinson to score against us. Other than that, I see a win for the Thistle, with Chalmers and at least A. N. Other scoring for us.
  2. Another thread ruined. Listen, I first noticed that annoying habit in Archie's interviews. It was so frequent that I stopped actually trying to understand what he was saying, and instead just waited for the next "Listen." It was, like, mental. Like! don't get me started on "like"!!
  3. A very familiar name around Firhill even to those of us who never knew him personally, clearly someone who contributed much to PTFC. Condolences to Bobby's family and friends.
  4. It's a great place, dragged down by a small number of spoilers. Anyone know if there are any moves for a replacement forum? P&B, X and the like just ain't for me. As that fine Jags song goes: "I never knew how much I loved you, 'til you were gone."
  5. She's got a big job ahead of her.
  6. Agree with that. Whoever it turns out to be (if not BBG), the person will likely have a history of getting sacked because of poor performances/results. That's what being a football manager seems to be about..... try to do your best, hope for the best, but realize that a run of poor results will almost inevitably mean you're out the door, probably after no more than a year or two.
  7. Plenty of material for his dissertation at Firhill!
  8. This is probably my main concern too: the notion that non-Scottish is de facto better than Scottish, and so we get guys that can't cut at wherever they're failed at before and they clearly can't cut it in Scotland either. There's a long history of this (and it's still going on), but anything like some of PTFC's previous non-Scots legends and heroes (Prudham, Lindau, Lyons.... others?) would do nicely, thank you!
  9. It will now certainly be more interesting if Graham and Wilson fail to get us promoted......
  10. Me too, but all the best to him. (Will it really lead to any more success?)
  11. Some might say that Graham is still in such good shape because he only plays half of every game; the other half he spends sitting on his erse with his hand up claiming for a foul. Needless to add: no foul took place. Having said that, I'd like to have him around as a player for a while yet!
  12. Hope the boys will have plenty of sh*ts on target today, including at least a few unstoppable ones. Even one or two slipping out of their goalie's hands will be fine.
  13. Would a return to (what remains of) Shawfield be unthinkable?
  14. A few hamburger vans, portaloos, and they could rename it Caravan Park.
  15. The endless inferno of Hades couldn't make me suffer more than that combination.
  16. Their Cup win against the blue erse cheek seems to have jinxed them.
  17. But for Greeockers, Cappielow is like Disneyland.
  18. I wish nothing but success for KD in whatever he does next.
  19. There could well be something in that. If the team feels that the manager isn't 100% committed to them, even if he's trying to show otherwise, then that could influence performances on the pitch, even though they appear to be trying not to let it get to them.
  20. Looked to me that we had no real equivalent of, or way of dealing with, Aberdeen's strong runs right through the midfield. Too many of our passes (of which there appeared to be too many) were poor (and that's being kind). A real drop in form in the team this season.
  21. Whoever gets the job should expect to last no longer than 2 seasons (more precisely, 23 months), which is the median tenure of our post-Lambie managers. The obvious long-duration outliers are McCall (1st spell, 4 years) and Archie (6 years and some). Hmm.... what if Archie got the job.....
  22. Copying big teams' models, will we also have an assistant sporting director?
  23. Got memories of maybe 20 years ago: Don't remember the result, but remember a lot of wee Morton fannies at the train station saying they were going to stab us, etc. They started to come over the bridge towards the Thistle supporters. Then, two or three Jags fans ran onto the the bridge shouting "C"mon then!" Needless to say, the wee Morton fannies shrinked onto their platform, received a couple of boots, and pleaded innocence when plod eventually "intervened."
