allyo
To be honest, I think Archie has taken us just about as far as anyone can, bar a trophy if we get a bit lucky. I'd be happy to consolidate where we are. Top six for Thistle will always be a great achievement.
jagfox
Disagree to an extent. The route to top six is challenging but not unassailable. We dropped plenty of points to bottom six teams and arguably our results over Dundee and Ross County cemented our place. Get another team added to that list with better results against the better teams and we could be looking at entering the final five games in fourth or fifth place with an eye on a European place. This largely comes down to achieving a consistency of positive result and performance. I feel we have the players so it's down to what the manager and his team can get out of them. We need to create more chances as we have the players to convert them throughout the team. We also need to show more discipline in terms of giving away fouls in dangerous areas. The plus side of such a scenario is that we would have a better chance of reaching the further reaches of the cup competitions.
MMCF
I was looking at our back line early on Saturday and (despite enforced changes Booth- Elliot) I was thinking how different it was from the beginning of last season. And is this a key to understanding why we have such slow starts to a season? Every season it seems is a new start and we should be patient until this team have settled themselves in.
Blackpool Jags
Glad I read this topic. I hadn't realised that the season is in fact over for us and we're heading for the drop. Ok, let's clear out the management team now, appoint a journeyman with no record to speak of, go part time with immediate effect, release all those whose contracts run beyond Hogmanay and prepare for life in the Championship, immediately followed by Div One. We're completely doomed...apparently. Or..............
