Jaggernaut
Combined, those two clips show as impressive a collection of inept powderpuff attempts to score that you'll ever see. We could should have scored eight times against Cowdenbeath. And as for those three golden chances against the cheats, well to fail to even trouble the goalkeeper on any of them seems almost unforgivable. But they also show that we have a class keeper. This is somethng that I really don't understand. Why have none of our players for years now been able to strike the ball cleanly more often than not? The last players I remember to hit the ball cleanly were Grady, Toastie, Hardie and players from the team we had in the first season in the SPL about 10 years ago. Thinking of ways this could be fixed, play defence vs attack in training and have a prize for the attacker scoring the most goals, but only count any that are cleanly struck. This might also teach them to be selfish, as far too many of our strikers pass the ball on when given an opportunity to shoot. Another thing they could do is get a sports scientist in who specialises in biomechanics, someone who can help improve the players' postures when striking the ball. twinny
Fancy paying for it? It wouldn't take much, they could visit one morning/afternoon a week for a couple of weeks. Strathclyde have a decent biomechanics suite actually, and I'm sure they would be able to find a reason to research the technique of 'professional' athletes and make it mutually beneficial. Hell, I can't be the only thistle fan with a sports science degree. I don't specialise in biomechanics though so I don't feel my services would be very good, though they would be free. Alan Murray
I'll give you the other three, but Buchanan's finishing was woeful. I think people forgot how good Liam was. If he did get that bad injury I am sure he would be playing at a higher level. Here is a reminder how well Liam could strike the ball http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLXAqtXFHek

He got himself into many good positions, but would fluff the majority of his chances. He quite often fluffed two sitters before scoring a more difficult shot. 1 John Lambie
I thought the Morton penatly was harsh, but jeezo the Cowdenbeath one was shocking. On Buchanan, he dragges wide more shots than he ever hit cleanly. Edited March 10, 2011 by 1 John Lambie

On Buchanan, he dragges wide more shots than he ever hit cleanly. First time I've seen the Cowdenbeath penalty and I couldn't believe it when i saw the ref pointing to the spot. I replayed it several times and still didn't see it. It didn't even look in the area. The ref was not even in the frame so I don't know how he could have seen a penalty. One of the worst I've seen, and I've seen a few. Neat equaliser, but it looked like every single Cowden player was in the penalty area, and the subs, and some of the crowd... Watch the linesman the next time you watch it beep. It's him that awards it.

What was the penalty for? Honestly, I can't remember the chat from the just in thread and from that I can't tell.

Nobody in the stand side that night had a scooby what had supposedly happened.
