gianlucatoni
Can the Mods please explain why this clown is still allowed to post on the forum after his recent posting - which was ultra-offensive on so many different levels. From the code of conduct: 1.2 - You must ensure that any material submitted by you or any communication you make in connection with our website, will not: B - breach any applicable law, whether criminal, tortious or otherwise; or C - be defamatory, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, harassing, threatening, obscene, pornographic, false, unreliable or misleading or otherwise objectionable in our opinion. Jaggernaut
Look at the list. Many of us would be guilty of a few of those, I'd reckon. Sigesige himself requested that the thread be removed (although that would have happened anyway). I reckon he (now) knows that his views on those topics are offensive to most people and he won't repeat them. So he gets banned, then who's next? Yeah, I'd go with that even though I think the points in the OP are perfectly valid. Anyone watching that, proverbial car crash, thread unfold will have had concerns about it, but in the end I just think it was probably a very badly judged attempt at a joke more than anything (have misjudged dodgy jokes myself before now ). If you take Siege's stuff seriously then you will presumably be aware that he has previously suffered from serious mental health problems. I think tomorrow will be another day

I think tomorrow will be another day I'm sorry TDP but that's not my take on that thread at all ... there's simply no place for views as he posted and then subsequently tried to argue and uphold on this forum. There was no joke about that thread at all. And while the poster may or may not have issues relating to mental health it does not excuse the absolutely objectionable filth he posted the other day. Whether or not we take him seriously or not - and I most certainly have been one of his most vociferous objectors since day 1 - he was so far over the mark with that post that his place on this forum should now be removed IMO. Problem is that there is a lot of sick humour out there, and a lot of people find it funny. As Jaggernaut says plenty of people go close to the line. I do agree it could be reasonable to draw that line at peado jokes though so you may be right to call for a ban. However, in mitigation it might be pointed out that Seigeseige is so obviously a nonsense poster that he could not have been expected to have been taken seriously. Anyway the Defence, er, rests. However, in mitigation it might be pointed out that Seigeseige is so obviously a nonsense poster that he could not have been expected to have been taken seriously. Anyway the Defence, er, rests. I'll fetch my gown Let's look at the case for consistency then: 1. A boy affiliated to the club posts offensive and sectarian material in a social networking site - gets outed and is released by the club. Other youth players get a shot across the bows as to their future conduct in this regard. 2. A poster on this site posts material that bigs up rape, paedophilia and incest - gets challenged but continues to post on this site today after his original post is removed. Conclusion would be: 1. that the club has taken decisive and 100% correct action against the young boy 2. the forum has dithered and is sending out a rather questionably ambiguous message - do they agree the posters views are ok and merit no further comment? Phoenix
He should have been banned long ago for simply being a troll. Joke wore thin from the start and just got worse. His comments on the thread in question were the worst I have ever read on a Jags Forum and in my opinion he should have been banned for them. If he isn't banned then maybe he should just be ignored until he gets fed up and leaves.
The Devil's Point
2. the forum has dithered and is sending out a rather questionably ambiguous message - do they agree the posters views are ok and merit no further comment? I don't see why the "Forum" has to send out a message or judgement on anything. The point of a Forum is surely not to present a message, surely the point of a forum is to allow discussion and the airing of differing opinions. As I understand it the forum is independent of the club.
Kapiti Jag
I am thankfully oblivious having used the Ignore Poster feature as soon as he appeared on here simply based on the crap spouted on the old .net forum.
Members Willjag
I wonder how many folk actually reported the post/thread? I know that when I did it was taken down within about an hour. The forum should be self policed, if you see something offensive, hit the report button. The folk running the site cant keep an eye on everything that's going on and need a little help now and then. It's a difficult job and it's not easy to keep everyone happy all the time. sigesige00
I say sorry for not reading about the rule of sexually offensive posts. I am a libertarian who believes that all personal choices should be legal. However, I do not ENCOURAGE incest or other things. I am for the abolition of all laws about personal choices -- I hope that this statement is not offensive.

So it should be legal for someone to make a personal choice to rape or murder someone?
sigesige00
So it should be legal for someone to make a personal choice to rape or murder someone? No, raping/murdering someone violates the rights of another person. However, helping suicide should be legal. (In Japan, helping suicide is illegal now. I do not know the British/Scottish law.) Members Willjag
And it was on the Jagsforum. Also, Jaggernaut has stated that he has taken stuff to Japan for him.

I'm in Scotland!! tap tap tap click click Oh look..... I'm in Japan!! Oh and the UK based iP number was already false. Just saying it is easy to convince anyone anywhere that you are whoever you want to pretend to be online. The Internet is a scary place. gianlucatoni
While it clearly still rankles me that I was banned from .net in the dying days for having the temerity in the old mods eyes to take on this clown (and arguably going a bit too far) it is utterly incredulous that he/she is allowed to continue posting on this site after that one. gianlucatoni
Gianlucatoni, have you tried using the ignore user feature? Just did that - cheers for the heads up. Interesting to note still no contact from the Mods (not even a PM) - maybe they're saving up to get Paul McBride QC to speak on their behalf or maybe they'll come out later this weekend all guns blazing and blame the rest of us for not taking the Bellshill imposter seriously. thechangingman
Guys an arse , trying to be funny/controversial/whatever , cant think of any other forum that i view that would tolerate his posts , if the mods dont take the decision to bin him maybe we should stop using the forum , and ignoring him is not an answer , as an aside how many parents would be horrified at that sort of thing was on a football forum for kids to see , lets see some decisive moderator action please
