I would guess that MacB insisted in Pee Tee being retired as part of the deal, i.e. in the contract. They want, and are paying big money for, all the attention to be focused on Jaggy MacB. Seems a bit silly to be going for a predominantly yellow jersey when we're sponsored by a bee....in hoops, which seem a perfect fit for our traditional yed n yellow hoops. Let's see anyway.
