The Sunnylaw Jag
I see that Caolan McAleer scored the winner for Airdrie yesterday . . . of course he had beat Ryan Scully to do it.
Fawlty Towers
A good workout yesterday saw a youthful partick side convincingly defeating Arthurlie juniors Good stuff. Who tends to play left back for the U20s and with ATS now missing could he step up at this stage?
Lindau
Good stuff. Who tends to play left back for the U20s and with ATS now missing could he step up at this stage? With Bannigan out I would imagine Jordan McMillan will be taking that slot on Tuesday
Dougie T
Good stuff. I feel really optimistic about the future health of the club on the playing side, even if we get relegated, especially with the generosity of the Weirs in setting up the youth academy and the King of Spain in overall charge of youth development. The club just need to get the scouting side of things sorted ASAP.
Alan Murray
Brownlie played well for Cowdenbeath yesterday according to fans on pie and bovril. I have only saw him once for the under 20s but I was very impressed with him.

My Fifer mole tells me it was a tremendous goal tho' Scully could maybe have done better. Ryan did have an otherwise very good game.
billko
Good stuff. I feel really optimistic about the future health of the club on the playing side, even if we get relegated, especially with the generosity of the Weirs in setting up the youth academy and the King of Spain in overall charge of youth development. The club just need to get the scouting side of things sorted ASAP. And this is what gets overlooked sometimes with everyone worrying about what's happening with the first team. Foundations are beiing laid just now that will see the club benefit in the future from it. The Academy will eventually be up at the levels of other clubs and the scouts are active getting the talent into the set up. Community teams are also being set up for kids who are not as yet in the Elite Academy but still gives them a player pathway straight through to the first team. Alot of work is going on at the young age groups and the coaching is of a high quality and no doubt it will produce a few gems in the future. Gerry took the U14's last Monday for their first session back from holiday (Holiday's over boys ) and it was a hard but enjoyable workout for them. Paul Gallacher taking all the goalkeeping sessions for all the age levels is also great for these young lads development. Seeing all this going on behind the scenes can only make you feel the club is in a good place with regards it's future and it's to the clubs credit they see the importance of it.

Fawlty Towers
It was good to read in yesterday's programme that a deal has been reached for the Academy sides train and play at the facility at Lochinch. Hopefully the first team will soon get a fixed training ground sorted out as well.

billko
It was good to read in yesterday's programme that a deal has been reached for the Academy sides train and play at the facility at Lochinch. Hopefully the first team will soon get a fixed training ground sorted out as well. Never seen this confirmed but they have been using Lochinch from the start of the season and i think the first team have been using it also. The 14's were training at Firhill Complex twice a week and Lochinch once but it's now been changed to twice at Lochinch and once at the complex for the second part of the season. The fixtures are also listing Lochinch as the venue for home games instead of Milton which would be fantastic but we shall wait and see if this is confirmed or not. As for Lochimch it's a fantastic venue in great surroundings which is as good as anything out there so if the club managed to secure something longer term it would be great for the club and the academy to get such good facilities. It even comes with it's own club house and bar that overlooks the pitch and is very popular with us parents Edited January 19, 2014 by billko

The Cup
McAleer scored his first goal for Airdrie against Sculley for Dunfermline. Is that a club first?
billko
Parents and drink at games is dangerous mate, lol I know and the Clyde fixture is heated enough and that's without the bevy Seriously as we are mainly just chauffeurs for the young Jags most of us never really get to sample the alcoholic stuff but the bovril goes down well enough.
