billko
The point I was trying to make was... Everyone thinks it's unfair but hey-ho. You also think it's unfair and seem to be getting all agitated about it. And that is why, I believe, there is a perception (such as it is) of "sectarian venom". Do you get it now? Sectarian Venom? Nae bother Davie

ian_mac
Think Billko has taken a lot of unnecessary stick on this thread. Some people actually come across as OF fans they are so quick to stick the knife in. Don't always agree with Billko either but I certainly don't disagree with his main point on this thread. Legia are extremely unfortunate to go out in this way - it's extremely harsh - and I don't think anyone would have complained if it was a simple fine and a slap on the wrist.
Blackpool Jags
Legia not saying "Aye, ok then." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28797122
oneteaminglasgow
Legia really are making themselves look like idiots over this. The chairman actually seems surprised in that article that Uefa want them to just accept the decision that's been made by... em, Uefa.. Meister Jag
Did this just go right over you head kni? They have an opinion similar to mine but are they spouting sectarian venom? Thanks for the info on NY and will keep that in mind next time i'm in NY wearing my Rangers strip and sash. Do you know what bars i should stay away from? Think you'll be safe. Quite a few Irish bars sport prints of the New York Rangers who play in the old R, W & B... Just a sports thing with NYR being the main NY team of choice. A few former work colleagues were horrified when they were over for the annual St Patrick's parade. One of them complained and was told to "get a life!" Maybe our American cousins are enlightened after all!
billko
Legia still not letting this go away Fantastic banner display and a very vocal crowd i must say You tell them Legia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8hcK4ntDO4&feature=youtu.be Edited August 28, 2014 by billko
BowenBoys
Very impressive display. If only they hadn't broken the rules. They could have really got behind their team against Maribor.
Barney Rubble
No problem with the fans' banner because that's banter, but the stuff coming out from Legia's hierarchy since Maribor humped Celtic doesn't show that club in a good light at all. An admission of irresponsible administration on their part, or of their inability to take penalties - these were the root causes of their failure - would be more appropriate in the circumstances. AndyMac
To be honest, the whole thing is a farce, Celtic took a hiding and then everyone is hiding behind the rule book trying to justify it.
lady-isobel-barnett
Guess Lawwell & Co are wishing they'd agreed to letting Warsaw thru. Not saying they should have but the favourable PR would have been considerable. Bit like when Jack Nicklaus conceded yon putt to Tony Jacklin (Ryder Cup '69?) he went from a detested "Nick Faldo" type to the Mr Popular overnight. AndyMac
It's just not fair, nevertheless, perhaps Celtic wil fair better in the fairs cup.
Blackpool Jags
If the Tims get pumped in the Kensitas Coupons Consolation Plate, do they then by default tumble into a lesser esteemed tourney for the part-time elite of Europe's fuds? EG like a Faroese or Andorran top 6 club, or fair play champions from these outposts.
