Tonights Game

Well that was a fantastic return to competitive action from our team. First tem minutes we were finding our feet to a degree and I had flashes back to Craig Levein's failed attempt at playing a false number nine in Prague a few years back. However it soon became clear that Stevenson ( great choice for captain) was critical to Archie's game plan as he allowed Fraser and Bannigan to penetrate the County defence, seemingly at will. He managed to create a few chances for himself and a goal would have capped an excellent debut.

Osman was a rack at the back of the midfield too giving the platform and confidence for his midfield partners to get forward. Lawless and Higgy supplied excellent support on the flanks and we really stretched the County who were rather stagnant and narrow in their set-up.

As mentioned it was a quality perfomance from McMillan and brilliant to see SOD play with confidence exemified by his marauding runs and telling contribution in front of goal.

Fox did well considering he was a spectator for large spells of the game. That instinctive save at the start of the second half was class. Balatoni and Seaborne were solid and Vounty only crested a couple of chances.

It was nice to see our tempo and drive rarely dropped and when Elliott and Craigen came on we remained a threat to a somewhat bedraggled County side.

If we can keep that level of consistency it will be a very entertaining season and hopefully successful too.

Onwards and upwardz!
