  1. Big shout out to all the lads from Rangers media, who I'm told have been looking in on this thread with great interest. And they tell us it's the tims who are obsessed? Hi lads!
  2. Michael from the S&G has asked me to get the word out that the pub on Saturday will be Thistle fans only before and after the game. Means that we will have a safe place to drink before and after the game. A nice gesture from Michael who always tries to look after his punters as much as possible. Hopefully he will be rewarded with a good crowd of us to make it worthwhile for him. He's opening at 11am.
  3. Really fantastic to hear about this visit from the players. We are a great club sometimes.
  4. There's no doubt you are correct here Fearchar. The problem is that, to use your analogy, we DO have a trade union, they're just completely useless and for all intents and purposes, barely exist anymore.
  5. I just don't see it with Gary Fraser. He undoubtedly has talent but doesn't seem to be able to put it to good use. I fail to see where he fits in the current set up anymore.
  6. Talk about splitting hairs. I'd say what BowenBoys has proposed is more than appropriate.
  7. Think it's time we accepted where we are as a club. People always talk about our potential fanbase and how we have a big support waiting to come back. The fact is we have a very small core support, one of the smallest in the league, and a stadium that is probably twice as big as we need, capacity wise. We are enjoying our 4th consecutive season in the top flight. If the lapsed fans aren't coming back now then they never will, short of a revolution within Scottish Football, which isn't happening any time soon. Therefore we need to maximise revenue whenever the opportunity becomes available. We never know when this spell in the top flight may end. If fans really want what's best for the club, rather than themselves, I really don't see what the objection is to giving the OF as many tickets as they can sell.
  8. Very good question LLD. The poor attendance (six!) would suggest that the fans have absolutely no interest in how the club is run. This is probably because things appear to be going so well just now, on and off the park. I remember a meet the board night around 2007, just after Campbell had been sacked, and the attendance was around 500, of which the club could only seat around half. My immediate concern at the moment would be how much we are relying on the Weirs, especially with Colin not being in the best of health.
  9. Not exactly great planning is it? I bet there are a few people who would quite like to attend the meeting and the development game. A cynic could argue that they maybe don't want a large attendance so they can just get on with doing what they are wanting without any resistance? Borrowing tactics from the JT?
  10. Had Liam been playing down south or for one of the OF I reckon he might have been capped already. Certainly would have featured for the U21s.
  11. Signed and will share later today (no social media access in work). It's been great to have Rab and his father in amongst the fans in the North Stand these last few years, and I know from his posts on here that Rab has really enjoyed his matchday experience since moving across. Really hope to see you both back in your rightful places at Firhill as soon as possible.
  12. I do worry that a lot of our support might just not bother due to the closure of the M74. I also sure hope that what's left of the Supporters Buses are leaving a bit earlier than usual for this one. Train really is the best bet on this occasion. The Electric is a decent wee boozer, enjoyed the Jack Daniel's through there as well.
  13. I'm sure his 2nd name was Sally PT. Which is why he took such a slagging while warming up in front of the NS
  14. Quite simply, a tremendous afternoon to be a Thistle fan. It was also the first time the team had played in red and yellow all season and it just great to see us back in our proper colours once again. The atmosphere in the North Stand was just incredible that day. O'Donnel's goal is for me the best I've ever seen at Firhill, as was the celebration that followed. At one point in the 2nd half with the score at 5-1, and Dunfermline not having had a touch of the ball for what seemed like a full 10 minutes, the North Stand started singing "We're Partick Thistle, we're taking the piss". Tremendous memories.
  15. If we want to maximise revenue, and I mean REALLY maximise revenue, then we should give them the whole ground. Charge them £25 a ticket and refund each ST holder £20. Could be the difference between us getting in some real quality players in the January window. I personally would have no problem missing these games.
  16. Nope, definitely not. He is no better than what we have just now. He would not improve our squad in the slightest. Had he not played for one of the OF, no premier league club would go near him.
  17. Have to laugh at the suggestion of CD Tenerife. Do you really think they would have any interest at all in hosting us in the middle of their domestic season?
  18. Would love for him to get the 100th at Firhill in front of the North Stand.

That is an excellent set of results. Probably the best we've seen since before Save The Jags. I'm guessing Kevin Energy doesn't really do number Full credit for this must go to Alan Archibald.
  20. I wonder who else we could coax out of retirement? Paul McStay? Dennis Law? The latter would probably provide more pace up front than Fletcher.
  21. An embarrassing act of desperation by Strachan.
  22. Great bit of business by Archie. I have no doubt that Liam will play for Scotland one day, given how shocking our options are at that level.
  23. No surprise you're coming out with the H*n patter.
  24. GRE was the guy that wanted Archie sacked during the promotion season because we had only beaten Airdrie and Hamilton 1-0. This is what we are dealing with here folks. Best leave him to it.
  25. I thought the team actually looked pretty solid for most of the match. Barton was a revelation at the back, clear man of the match for me. The RB slot is now Christie's to lose, and it should only be Dumbuya challenging him for it from now on. Edwards was great again but really seems to fade out towards the end of matches. Should have been hooked for Wilson. Devine better this week but still not great for me. Scully in goal actually rescued a point for us, he really seems to have matured a lot over the summer. For me you just can't ignore the performance of the ref. The county number 15 should have had a 2nd booking for the incident that led to Liam's injury. He had absolutely no intention of trying to win the ball in the air, his only interest was to cause Scully to drop the ball and knock Liam off balance. Then there's the foul on Azeez, again it's a red card but the ref bottled it. These are only a few of the countless decision he got wrong. The goal for me was down to Booth and Gordon. Booth is beaten far too easily to start with and then Gordon basically shows the boy a clear route to goal and may as well have stuck the ball in the net for him as well. We are in trouble, there's no doubt about that. And with the fixtures as they are, it's difficult to see where a win is coming from before the end of the calendar year. I guess we just have to hope that the team does find a win or 2 from somewhere during this time.
