  1. Great post Mr Bunny, absolutely spot on. Strachan is just an awkward character. He has classic wee man syndrome. He can't take any sort of criticism and makes a point of ignoring certain players just to show that he's in charge. Griffiths being a classic case in point. Yes he hasn't been as prominent this season due to Dembele but last season he scored 40 odd goals but still couldn't get a start under Strachan. What other nation in world football doesn't start a striker in that kind of form? Strachan is determined to show that he is the man in charge, and he seems to put this before what is actually best for the team. That's why we are in the position we are in. The worst thing for me though, is that this situation is all of his own making. In my lifetime, I can't remember another manager coming in to a job with so much goodwill from both the fans and the media. He was everyone's first choice for the job, and literally everyone wanted him to succeed. Unheard of in football. And yet here we are. He's made a complete ar*e of it and he can't blame anyone but himself.
  2. When you look at the fixtures of the teams around us (and I mean the teams competing for 6th rather than anyone below that) despite us having to play both OF teams away from home I still think we have the best fixtures. 2 very winnable home games and an extremely do-able trip to Killie. If we can pick up 7 points before the split I can't see anyone else beating us to the top 6.
  3. Fearchar, how do you know that Archie doesn't have someone in the JH watching the game for him? I take it you have evidence to the contrary, otherwise why are you slating the manager when we are currently sitting 6th place in the league? Again, why even mention the offside goal? It was CORRECTLY disallowed. You suggest we should be comfortably beating a team at the bottom. I assume you are basing that on not only their league position, but ours as well. So you have formed this opinion partly based on our success this season, but then go on to slate the management team that have overseen this success? It's a very inconsistent argument. We have no right to be comfortably beating anyone in this league. To say otherwise is just plain ignorance.
  4. Got to be a few jags related runners at Cheltenham this week?
  5. Whether he's injured or not. He has no right to walk straight in to the first team. He's come in at a time when the team is doing very well, makes sense to me that he can't get straight in. The injury to Lawless may open up a space for him. I find it pretty encouraging that competition for places is such that a new signing doesn't have a look in. You could argue that we have wasted money signing him, but so what? How many times did Lambie sign players who ended up being complete duds? It happens at every club. Every signing is a risk and you win some and you lose some. You can't discover players like Dumbuya and Barton without signing them and gambling on them in the first place. It doesn't always work out. Archie's success rate has proven to be pretty good and is one of the main reasons why we keep progressing as a team.
  6. Sorry Fearchar, but to say we were lucky to get a point is frankly ridiculous. The Inverness goal was correctly ruled out, I haven't heard or seen anyone suggest otherwise. As for your other points, when you are actually involved in game of football it's really not as easy as it looks from the comfort of the Jackie Husband stand. You make it sound like the management team are incompetent and we are bottom of the league. When the reality is we are punching well above our weight yet again, for the 4th season in a row at least. You are yet another poster who only seems to appear when you have something negative to say about the management team.
  7. He'll be leaving this summer whether he plays for Scotland before that or not. Whether that will be the right move for him remains to be seen.
  8. He's talking us up to make a draw sound like a good result for his team. He's saying anything he can to hold on to his job probably. The reality is that they probably need to win games against the likes of us to stand any chance of avoiding the bottom 2. Unfortunately, we haven't been anywhere near the top 4 all season, so ultimately he is yet again talking complete sh*te. The guy is a bit of a disaster when it comes to post match interviews it has to be said.
  9. As gutted as we all were when that goal went in, on this occasion I find it very difficult to level too much criticism at the team, and from the other posts on the thread it would appear I'm not alone in this. We played very well against a team who were set out for a 0-0. I realise they had a goal (correctly) disallowed in the first half but that was the only attack of note I can remember. At the time I thought Cerny should maybe have came for the cross but on 2nd viewing that is maybe harsh on him. Edwards and or Booth need to do better in stopping that cross, as it was a 2v1 situation in their favour. However, we're talking about 2 of our star performers this season so very difficult to be too critical of them. Dumbuya should also not have been left to mark one of the biggest guys on the pitch at the back post - naivety there from the admittedly very young and otherwise excellent centre halves. The situation currently is this - we remain in the top 6 with a very winnable away game next week followed by an even more winnable home game. 6th place is still very much in our own hands and I think we would all have been happy to accept our current predicament at the start of the season. considering we lost 2 players to injury in the first half I thought we coped very well in midfield. I never thought I would see the day when we would be short of midfielders but that's what injuries can do to a small squad. I also cannot make the game next week so hopefully we can grab a win without Dools scoring, although given his record at Rugby Park I'll be sticking a few quid on him anyway.
  10. Who's denying you an opinion GRE? Is someone deleting your posts?
  11. I'm glad we weren't one of the many clubs that Tam McManus stole a wage from.
  12. All 4 of these goals are vintage Dools:
  13. Another magnificent performance from the team. Elliot came in and did a terrific job on the right hand side. Dools and Erskine once again causing absolute havoc in the opposition half and to be honest we deserved at least another goal. Doolan outmuscling O'Dea for the goal was just a marvellous sight to see. The back 3 once again, absolutely outstanding. Real backs to the wall stuff towards the end as you would fully expect, but I really never thought they were going to score, and that's down to how good we've been defensively recently. The continued success of the team must be getting extremely awkward now for a good few people on here. We now go up to Aberdeen on Saturday with a real chance. Absolutely nothing to lose, full of confidence at both ends of the park. We couldn't ask to be in better shape or frame of mind for this game.

Collins has never managed a senior team before or since, and his foray into the Junior leagues was equally as disastrous. I've actually spoken to one of the players involved personally about this. It was very much a combination of only being offered 1 year deals and having absolutely no faith in Collins ability to manage the team on his own that brought about that mass exodus.
  15. 4-0 defeat at home to Hearts when Scully got sent off.

Apart from anything else, Motherwell are skint since they went fully fan owned. I not sure where the presumption of them being able to offer a bigger salary comes from to be honest. As for Archie leaving for Dundee United, can you honestly blame him? There was a mass exodus that summer and it was pretty clear that none of the players rated Gerry Collins in any way at all, which was totally vindicated.

Regardless of how long he is contracted to us for, does anyone honestly think he would leave us for someone like Motherwell? If so you obviously know nothing about the man.

No way Archie would leave to go there. When Archie goes it will be to a much bigger club than them.
  19. The longer he stays under the radar the better. But I reckon he'll be away in the summer anyway. Can't see him getting a call up before that.

Not surprising. He seems to have totally lost the plot and now the dressing room. He has no concept of how a manager should conduct himself. Motherwell will probably now avoid the drop once again. Themselves and Killie sure do live a charmed life.
  21. Tough game against a Dundee side who will be full of confidence, much like ourselves. Throw in home advantage and I'd be very happy with a draw for this one.
  22. Hard to argue with that one. What impresses me most is the fact that he got to the ball before the defender initially.
  23. Truly staggering that they are going for a young inexperienced manager who has struggled badly in the 4th tier of Scottish Football for the last 3 years. I wonder if Kris Boyd will be as scathing about this appointment as he was about Cathro?
  24. A horrible club run by a horrible man. Feel for the fans if this happens but administration doesn't come about through bad luck. It happens because of years, sometimes decades, of mismanagement and financial irresponsibility. That's how Save The Jags came about and it's the same for every other club. So they have no one to blame but themselves.
