  1. Fact or fiction? Probably the later, another attempt by the DR to drive their agenda. But if the SPL did perform a u turn of gigantic proportions then I hope their fans desert them and the likes of Killie, MWell etc go bust but unlike newco they have to start again in div3. Poetic. Although my money is on fan power winning and newco in div3. Otherwise football is dead in this country.
  2. Yes, but what about the "unheard voice" of those who want the new co in div1? As some in the media have asked.......... Desperately!
  3. I bought my season ticket 5 weeks ago. Money was immediately taken from my credit card. Still waiting for it to arrive. Presumably they expect me to pick it up. Having paid in full about 10 weeks before the start of the league campaign it's piss poor customer service. But I will be asking for a refund if we dither much longer on the fiasco over the newco. My centenary fund woul be binned too. How not to run a football club!
  4. I dont have a solution to more bums on seats. But let's be realistic, once newco get back to the SPL the OF will manovuer to get their 11-1 voting back and the SPL clubs will want their league back to 10 or 12 clubs so they can keep the Sky money to themselves. So any bigger league, playoffs, more equitable share of money etc will be quickly dismantled. Back to square one but we will have allowed ourselves to be used by SPL and newco to give them what they want. What is being offered is just a short term bribe to ensure SPL clubs keep getting the Sky money.
  5. JJ, what is to stop the OF/SPL going back to the old voting structure / league structure within a couple of seasons? They will inevitably revert to type and protect themselves and continue to screw clubs like us? So in the long term were dead anyway?
  6. If this apparent proposal is approved it will be just for a couple of seasons. Once newco got into Spl then OF/Spl would quickly reinstate voting structure / league structure with similar sort of blackmail / bribery being offered to SFL today ...... Back to square one but SFL clubs would have been used / shafted to get newco into Spl in one season..... With one major difference, lots of fans would have been lost to the game.
  7. If we vote yes then I am done. If we vote no then I will continue but forever boycott those who said yes. I was looking forward to my 43rd season...
  8. Do I read this right..... If the SFL clubs say no then the gangsters in the SPL will just create an SPL2 with newco in it in time for this coming season?...

    ..

Sent an email to Beattie today saying I want a refund on my season ticket if he/board endorse newco into Div1 next season. Can't understand any Thistle supporter being less than disgusted by the prospect but I respect individual decisions. All his claptrap about balancing integrity and financial benefits... There is no balance, they are mutually exclusive. If he backs newco into div1 then after 42 years at Firhill I will retire. I can't understand any Thistle fan who would allow us to be used as a vehicle for newco a fast return to SPL after years of cheating but as I say I respect individual decisions.
  10. But will Celtic vote no? That will mean they will be at the receiving end of the current 11-1 voting structure....
  11. I think our strikers have scored 2 goals in the last 11 games? Doolan with both? Same old story, poor in the last third. McNamara needs to look at some of the existing players and determine those who are not up to it during JAnuary window.

    Jackie

I agree with Barney, losing to a lower league team (e.g. Berwick) and getting knocked out a cup is worse than today's embarrasing result. If we lose next week that would be the worst result in our history IMO. Regardless of which is our worst result and your perspective, what is of real concern is our frequent inability to really take games by the scruff of the neck and take games to the opposition (without getting to the half way line and having a nose-bleed).
  13. Meanwhile Airdrie just scored their 10th goal of the afternoon with 15 mins to go..
  14. Spot on! We are so predictable the way we play most of the time... pass it to the half way line, then 67 passes side ways back ways, the opposition get behind the ball, we cant break them down.
  15. It will be interesting to read McNamara's comments - assuming he says something - as there was no post match comments on the website last week which is pretty poor disregard for the support. I think we have been pretty poor middle to front this season (with few exceptions) so dunno if today it was a case of cr*p service to the strikers or cr*p performance from the strikers or just cr*p all round. Hopefully someone who was at the game can tell us.
  16. After last week performance (and Jackie's comments re Paton and Stewart) I think Ersine, Paton and Elliot will be on the bench to be replaced by ODonnell, Stewart and er Bannigan or perhaps a 3-5-2 with Robertson, Ballatoni and Archie as the back 3 and ODonnell, Sinclair, Rowson, Cairney, Hutton, then Stewart and Doolan. Buy hey, I'm probably wrong.
  17. He might have gone so Killie dont have to pay us compensation.... that assumes he's going to Killie of course.
  18. The Club anticipate making an announcement regarding the football side of the Club's affairs within the next hour or so. Please check back here at www.ptfc.co.uk later this afternoon. Have they decided we are going part time?
  19. Instead of having a banner they should adopt the Iraqi approach and have 2,500+ supporters throw their shoes at him! Jackie McNamara & Simon Donnelly the next Falkirk management team? Cheaper than Elvis presumably.
  20. I see Pressley is at it again... quote from the papers this morning... He said: "We are very aware the pitch is in terrible condition. Thistle are well organised and difficult to break down - they are also very physical and we know how difficult it will be." Physical?! According to the programme from Saturday, his team have had significantly more red/yellow cards this season than us. Ref's must be going easy on us! He was muttering about a "lack of respect" towards him at Cappielow on Saturday. No doubt it will be someone else's fault when he gets his jotters at the end of the season. Delusional as well as egotistical.
