  1. McCall showing again today what a good manger can do with limited resources
  2. Wasn't Miller's tenure as manager at Livi a disaster/difficult.... I wasn't really paying attention at the time so maybe somebody can clarify.... Of course Miller couldn't be any worse than Caldwell.......could he?
  3. I disagree. Continuing poor results, bottom of the league, unhappy fans, declining attendances, the board cannot ignore what's happening - although the takeover is muddying the waters - but you can only get away with failure for so long.... the clock is surely ticking now, I suspect his fate is already sealed it's just a matter of time - the board will probably not want to sack him ahead of the takeover (or a conclusion of the off field stuff one way or another)
  4. J Low has really stitched us up then. All for a PowerPoint presentation
  5. Caldwell could sign another 20 players and he still won’t take us forward. Everybody can see he isn’t a manager.
  6. Linesman salvages a point for us. Embarrassing
  7. Only one dick in the dugout and it’s not Mr Campbell

Reading between the lines AA doesn’t think much of his successor https://www.thenational.scot/sport/17896432.alan-archibald-confident-david-beattie-won-39-t-sell-partick-thistle-river/
  9. Caldwell's managerial mantra
  10. If I was our manager I'd be pretty concerned that i've hardly been outside the bottom 3 in almost 10 months in charge. But then I'd have an ego disproportionate to my ability and would never look at the league table unti 36 games are completed. And I wouldn't accept that defeat at the hands of the Bunnet in two weeks time is any way detrimental to my managerial greatness.
  11. Regardless of rumours and who said what, this seems to have a predictable outcome. Bottom of the league again under Caldwell. His team, his tactics, his signings, his points tally. Failure to win the next two games and he’s finished. Hopefully we win both those games but his inability to get any kind of consistency in almost a year at the club indicates he’s not the man to take us forward. I’ve kept hoping we had turned a corner but he performs like he’s on some never ending job experience work.
  12. Yes, but is a reflection of where I believe we are. I thought our one goal wins over lower league opposition in the cup were totally underwhelming and an indication of things to come. caldwell has been unable to produce any consistency and by his own admission we were 2 up at Morton because their defence was poor rather than us being good. If we’re being generous we’ve failed to put in 90 mins against anybody so far this season (yes we did well against County but I thought the first 45 was poor). I’m highly doubtful of Caldwell’s ability as a manager, some of his signings look rank, his tactics, his ability to change a game, and what sometimes looks like a lack of bottle or belief in the team. The inability to take advantage of a gifted 2.0 lead at Morton is a perfect illustration. Add to that the off field stuff and we currently look like a team at best going nowhere or as we experienced last season, when you’re not in contention at the top you may find yourself in trouble at the other end. I would think McCall and the bunnet understand our fragility and will seek to exploit it, hence why I think these games will be a test for us. And Montrose have nothing to lose, and we did lose to E Fife away in the cup last season albeit under Archibald. im into my 50th season watching the Jags. I’ve seen the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright rotten over that time. My experience suggests this manager will not take us forward.
  13. On current form a tough run of 3 games coming up, home to Ayr and away to Montrose and Arbroath. Failure to win at Montrose, and a minimum of 4 points from the two league games (which would put us on a mere 5 points out of 15)... then there would be no purpose in waiting until the first quarter is out. If the excuse then was that we couldn’t afford to sack Caldwell then we risk flirting with relegation again, and an increasingly restless and dwindling support. But does he get to sign another two or three players before then (from the current cup run), but on the evidence of some of his disappointing signings to date.... The board need to simultaneously provide clarity of direction.
  14. Rudderless in the dugout, rudderless in the boardroom, going nowhere until both are resolved.
  15. Whatever the question, Caldwell will never be the answer.
  16. Sounds like nothing has changed. Glad i didn't renew for this season

Great. A Q&A session with the board and everybody comes away confused and unclear. So the board are either very poor at communicating (a valid criticism of the old board) or the they are trying to hide something. Or both. Meanwhile the support remain in the dark and this thread will run for another 100 pages.
  18. Any risk in the game being cancelled given the current heavy rain and forecast?

Perhaps the new owners, assuming it goes through, don’t want Caldwell as the manager hence the transfer fund has been pulled.

Might be an idea given our lack of firepower
  21. Never been so relieved to discover the thread heading wasn’t what it appeared to be! Of course he will inevitably play well and score against us
  22. Nice to win the group but one goal victories over lower league teams underlines how much work lies ahead in terms of Championship ambitions.
  23. Here’s hoping he turns out to be allegro in the musical sense and not clapped out in the car sense.

    Hopefully it's not Down Down.....
  25. What's the charge? An inability to look up before crossing?
