Fully understand your view FT, but it does not deny that LJ has a legitimate, if exceptional, concern that someone in the club should take responsibility to address. IT so-called 'solutions' are frankly a pain in the arse because they are in place for the convenience of the business and not the customer. By definition they have in-built inflexibility that cannot cope with unusual/irregular circumstances, as LJ's case exposes. Over to the club to offer an acceptable solution in this case............

Squad For 24/25 Season (And Signing Rumours)
Barney Rubble replied to Fawlty Towers's topic in Main Jags forum
IIRC the issues were to do with contractual registration rather than anything untoward with the player himself. Those with a better memory than I have will be able to clarify accurately. -
Brilliant!!! Absolutely brilliant - very well done!!

Freedom of choice, protection of personal data, and the sheer pleasure of not being beholden to an imposed technical 'solution' are three reasons that spring easily to mind.

Squad For 24/25 Season (And Signing Rumours)

Hope BBG welcomes Kyle properly after his 'tantrum' during the shootout at Raith. That midfield is shaping up mightily well. Now if we could get Tomi and Jack to re-sign as well.............. -
Squad For 24/25 Season (And Signing Rumours)

Cannot have it both ways - Kyle took one and scored in the shoot-out v Ross County on that infamous day a year ago. Absolute masterstroke by Kris Doolan to get him back. -
Woodstock Jag, could you clarify whether or not the new app will allow ST holders to have first dibs on their current seat? Unless I've missed something obvious (which is perfectly possible) that does not appear to have been confirmed?

Downloaded the Fanbase app, however contrary to the information below, there is no Partick Thistle option available as yet. 'Some of you may have already used the Fanbase platform over the last couple of seasons when visiting clubs such as Raith Rovers and Greenock Morton. If you have you can log into your account and follow Partick Thistle by clicking on the three bars at the top left of your screen to keep up to date with the latest news.'

Hmm. How about all Thistle fans wearing hard hats on the opening day of the 24-25 season,, in tribute to Gerry doing exactly the same on the opening day of the 94-95 season? RIP Gerry.

Cammy Smith would generously qualify as very disappointing. Very disappointing is not a description that befits any of the players you have mentioned. -
playoffs 23/24 Rovers (3) 🔵⚪️ vs Jags (3) 🔴🟡 Rovers win on penalties

We were utterly horrid that day. Dunfermline missed a chance late in ET when the lad put one over the bar when it appeared geometrically impossible to do so. And Kyle Benedictus won the previously unwon crossbar challenge that day with his opening penalty. The following two home games were Hamilton (0-1) and Cove (0-1). In hindsight, a malaise was already gripping Firhill.- 355 replies

Glad you brought that one up. It allows me to highlight BBG's 'exchange' with Kyle Turner during the shoot-out. That was demonstrably below than the standard expected of a Thistle captain. I say that as a big fan of BBG and what he's brought to this club. That was plain wrong, though.- 355 replies

Rode our luck tonight in my view. Airdrie are a good footballing team with no cutting edge, which is the reason that ultimately over the two games they have lost out. We, on the other hand, have Scott Robinson and Brian Graham who managed to fashion a couple of goals for us tonight despite having little in the way of meaningful service. The only other effort of note was Fitzpatrick near the end. Thankfully the defence held firm, as did the crossbar. It goes without saying that a major improvement will be required to get past Raith Rovers. However, well done to the players and the management team for seeing it through v Airdrie. And well done to everyone who came to the stadium to watch. It contributed to a great atmosphere!!

Aiden has looked as though he is not fully 100% since about January. Possibly been playing through something that needs a long rest. Even so, still, capable of doing something special - see his goal in the 4-0 v Airdrie the other week. which was special on so many levels. For me, it's impressive that Kris Doolan has managed to enthuse Aidan to be such a key component of his team since he took over. In my opinion, Aiden would have been out of the door at the end of last season had McCall remained in post He didn't know how to get a tune out of him.

Really liked Ryan Edwards, A buzzer of a midfielder whom Archie destroyed by playing him in a central 2 with Adam Barton in 17-18 when it clearly wasn't working for either player. His goal celebration at New Douglas Park in the 2-1 win in March 2017 - he put his head into Doolan's cross when many wouldn't have even put their foot in - was something to behold. Especially given that Matthias Pogba, the other scorer that day, made the fastest sprint of his life to get to the corner flag to celebrate.
-
There was no need for that. Just the very sight of his name provokes head-shaking. We were effectively a man down any time he took the field for us. His role in Queens Park's fourth goal at Firhill 18 months ago summed him up.
-
In summary: The game started at 1500. The game finished at 1648. In the intervening period, bugger all continued to happen. This was fully reflected by the absence of a man of the match announcement. Man of the match for me? The referee, who kept the game flowing using the advantage rule where possible (even if not always correctly) and used his cards only when he had no other choice late in the game.

Assuming no further injuries, the pool against Airdrie is minus Adeloye, Bannigan, Lawless, O'Reilly (?), Robinson (??), Sneddon, Williams, and anyone else that I may have forgotten about. McMillan, Muirhead, Fitzpatrick and possibly BBG are all in deep need of decent recovery time. We're not quite running on fumes, but the lack of adequate cover is certainly a feature right now. That said, it has to be all hands to the pumps on Saturday. Whatever the result, I wouldn't be tinkering too much in the remaining games before the play-offs unless absolutely necessary.
-
Scott Brown v Jim Goodwin who binned him at Pittodrie? Incentive central.
-
Hmm. How do you explain Tomi Adeloye scoring two tap ins after coming on against Arbroath and missing two very scoreable snips in the same cameo?
-
Agree with the first paragraph as that was also my interpretation of the post. If it wasn't intended as criticism, then perhaps it could have been expressed differently. Fully agree with your final sentence - James is an asset and one whom I hope is able to progress his career with Thistle.
-
Objective achieved, but on another day we could easily have lost that game. We were insipid in the first half bar a couple openings before the goal when McBeth blazed over the bar, and Robinson hit the post (?). Great strike from Stanway for the goal and smart reactions from Scott Robinson to react to the rebound from Ridgers. Disagree that Fake Thistle didn't create a chance - their number 4 should have burst the net with one that he dragged across the goal early in the second half. Dropping so deep when they went to 10 could have caused us headaches, but we got away with it in the end. Thought Stanway, McBeth, Mitchell and Robinson were best for us. Fitzy had an odd performance punctuated by several poor choices in possession. After all is said and done, a welcome result and three points!
-
Mitchell was fine today - badly let down by his defence for the goal. McBeth looked a natural at CB. Read the game well, and his tackling was clean. Robbie Muirhead is a handful, and, goal apart, McBeth kept him quiet throughout. What was noticeable to me was that it appeared that McBeth was the dominant CB calling the shots with Aero falling into line. Midfield was OK. Neilson has something in that position, but has to think and act more quickly to be truly dominant in that area of the field. Scott Robinson - love this guy. His work rate is phenomenal. He is the best foil for Brian Graham that doesn't disrupt the formation, and his leap for a guy of average height is truly impressive. Well merited MoM today. Going forward, perhaps McBeth could cement the dominant CB role??
