  1. I'm from a small town 12 miles west of Swansea, and it appears to have been used as a training ground for planners - all demolition and roundabouts. I can relate to Fife. I also take issue with your comment about "peg sellers" - a tad racist and stereotyping of a distinct ethnic grouping.
  2. A number of Swansea fans come up to see Thistle play at least once a season. A reciprocal visit would be nice (for me anyway)
  3. Well done to the Swans after their -0 win tonight at Stamford Bridge. Hope the next leg is also a Swans win and Wembley here we come.
  4. 0-3 full time. Rowser got booked for Stenny on his debut.
  5. Reading Jackie's comments on the Official website it appears that he was baffled by some of Madden's decisions. It speaks volumes when those professionally involved in football make justifiable comments like these. But, we still should have had the game won before half-time despite the ref's clowning. Three points at Airdrie are now a must.
  6. Madden is being promoted to Grade 1 on the EUFA list. That says it all for me. I worked with McKendrick as well and also thought he was inconsistent this season. And they aren't the worst by any means.
  7. We should have had the game won in the first 30 minutes. Ref was inconsistent, but we blew it.
  8. If it's official club policy to boycott games, surely TRFC have excluded themselves from the cup?
  9. The catering facilities have got worse from an organisation and management of queues and product flow perspective, and the quality of the scran has declined considerably - burnt pastry or luke warm (you get both if you're really, really lucky), with a virtually steak-free steak pie. Staff disinterested, one step removed from plant-life. How can clubs like Alloa provide food that is so much better, and does what it says on the tin? Can't catering be put out to tender and samples made available to fans to vote on? Stewarding in JHS seems to be good and helpful.
  10. Watching the highlights cheered me up no end after a bloody awful day.
  11. The food is not very good, to put it mildly, but given average attendances, what company is going to take a risk and provide something better? Some grounds get great catering - as i've said before Alloa and Dunfermline do the best pies IMO, and Pollok had great Scotch pies until they changed supplier. What about the lamb pies etc we offered a couple of seasons ago? They were great. Wht doesn't the club approach suppliers at the various farmer's markets? The one in Partick is a good source of pies and other meat-based delights.
  12. All I can say is at last payback for the Hand of Joe Jordan. We Taffs deserved a bit of luck.
  13. Except when they were really irritating when they had the drummers pounding away for the whole game - headache inducing. I prefer the church mice.
  14. Am I correct in thinking that the Aitken Suite is only really used on match days? If so, it's a waste of a potentially good resource for the rest of the week. Also with regards to catering, I had the experience last season of getting served by a member of staff at a pie-stall in the JHS and before getting served, she was interrupted by her boyfriend and started having a conversation with him. I had to interrupt to get my pie, and was made to feel a voyeur. Polite, interested staff might be nice, and decent pies with meat rather than burnt gravy, or with a good selection of vegetables would hit the spot as well. What about bringing the lamb pies back?
  15. Yup, it was bloody cold, The Ukrainian played half a game and I think Jose Quitongo got a few minutes. Didn't we lose consecutive home games 5-0 and 6-1 that season? Gretna and St Johnstone? The 3-1 relegation game was hard. My wee boy kept telling me not to cry as we walked down Maryhill Road after the game.
  16. I always tap the brick at the turnstiles with my son's name and date of birth on it.
  17. In today's Herald - Buchanan signs for Sligo Rovers.
  18. No, I was there when Alloa and Peterhead was the only game on in Scotland and went with an Alloa supporting mate. I didn't make the friendly.
  19. The bridies were fine before the game, but by half time they were often burnt and dried out. Just like Thistle's pies in fact. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the best pies were at Alloa, and where are we this saturday? I bet they'll be pish now.
  20. It appears that the idea of play-offs for SFL1 teams is now dead in the water. What does this say about the bleating from the Donkey about reaching out to SFL clubs?
  21. Still Game for the quality of the writing. Naveed and his wife are brilliant.
  22. Are these the Newco's first signings?
