  1. Total guff! 'Defensive'??? We won 4-0 and no Dunfermline did not lie down today, they were a bit of a wounded animal. Nor did we play defensive football, we shut them down in the 2nd half - like a professional championship winning team would do. This forum is slowly but surely being taken over by total morons who think we should be leading the world with our own unique brand of total football. Unfortunately, opponents tactics, pitch sizes and pitch conditions in SFL1 conspire against us sometimes and we have to adjust our style of play, but we played some lovely football in the 1st half. I may not like Ross county's style of play and hope we don't revert to that but 'being hard to beat' won them the league last year! So yes defensive crap can win the league (Morton seem to agree) On that note I bid u farewell from this forum. If certain near suicidal posters want to bore everyone then so be it but I can't be bothered with this nonsense anymore and I bid you (fair, well balanced people) farewell.
  2. Best- Shaggy Worst- Darren Brady
  3. Did anyone else see moron fans coin throwing at Muirhead? Terrible behaviour! What I can't believe is that the Greenock locals are throwing money away???
  4. Also Coyle said at the weekend that his next job will be down south!
  5. I think we need someone in the same mould as Jackie, continuing the same style of football. Unfortunately I think we have been spoiled in Jackie, not only has he improved through coaching the existing players but he could also spot a player. We can't afford a rebuilding process under a new manager - saying that I think it's too late and trophy is heading down Greenock way. No to Bollan - the guys a **** Evans? - or is he under too much influence from the 6 pack above him? Not sure about Alan Johnstone? Don't have a clue whos set for the dugout but we need action quickly as we can't afford to fall behind. Big moment for the board.
  6. I agree with Jagfox. It's inevitable that Jackie will leave us 1 day, but this is a terrible time for him to leave. We may as well hand the trophy over to Morton. However if Jackie did stay I do think it could galvanise the club for the league run in.
  7. I hope this is concluded by the end of Tuesday. The indecision will not do the team any favours ahead of an incredibly important fixture on Saturday!
  8. Can anyone confirm if Jackie has actually spoken to DU. I can only find the Daily Record reporting that story this morning. The remaining tabloids suggest that Elvis is a (brown) shoe in and our compensation package appears to be too much for them.
  9. Oh naw, tell me your joking, I was hoping Lucas Akins would return!
  10. I thought Dunfermline were rotten when we played them. Worst team I've seen so far as Fox didn't have a save to make. But it's a long season and we have got to take 1 game at a time. I see their fans believe they are a good passing team, much better passers than we were at EEP. JJ has never had a passing team. He's very old skool all about work rate and huff n puff. I still think Dunf are favourites to win this league considering finances etc. I'm concerned as pitches get heavier that our passing game may be strained.
  11. Last season I paid £30 per seat to reserve the seats next to me for my kids. This year it was free, there is reserved stickers on the seats and the books have the seat numbers written on them.
  12. Fantastic performance today, very professional and thought Muirhead could be a great acquisition. Would add though that £27 for an adult and 5 year old in Division 1 is a blooming disgrace though! And they wonder why fans are not turning up?
  13. I took my 5 year old today who was absolutely delighted to meet the players, still has a massive smug grin across his face all because the players spoke to him! Fantastic idea thistle!
  14. 'mon the jags! Let's all put this sorry fiasco behind us and get right behind the jags! Looking forward to tomorrow!
  15. Has any club officially confirmed which way it voted?
  16. Does anyone know if the 5 clubs all voted yes to Sevco or were any of these abstentions? Ie Dundee or Airdrie? I really can't see us voting for them in div 1! All press reports suggest that the first division clubs were all very united - reading Yorkstons and Longmuirs comments. If Beattie in a moment of madness did vote yes then it's a spectacularly bad decision!
  17. I am happy with that statement, No to Newco, spells out we need reconstruction from the SFA and not a new construction of the SPL2! It is up the the SFA to sort this out we can't trust certain SPL clubs organising our leagues. Remember turkeys don't vote for Christmas! Let's stop bickering and get behind the team!
  18. Well done! Let's try to put a more positive edge on this whole debacle! I will up my silver centenary fund to gold if board say No!
  19. What concerns me is that we will get the fairer revenue split and the additional play off place and whatever else they offer us at the minute when it suits them, give it a couple of years when Sevco are back in the SPL and we will have another restructure and take it all back off us! We can't trust the SPL to do what's best for the game!
  20. This is now clearly bending the rules to suit one club or as its also known - cheating! Scottish football is a disgrace and must be a laughing stock around the world! And what idiot wrote this 'proposal' , my only guess is it is one the bigots from the rangers forum or a monkey with a typewriter! I'm absolutely raging! Regan and Doncaster must think WE the fans are stupid! IT'S TIME FOR THEM TO GO!
  21. Negative Ghostrider! Im not expecting one either.
  22. I'm currently writing a No to Newco email to the club, can anyone tell me the most suitable address for this? We should all be emailing and letting the club know our thoughts, - it's worked for Dundee Utd etc
  23. Beattie has to immediately release the 'No to Newco' statement otherwise he is in danger of destroying our season before it begins!
  24. I really Hope our BoD will block any attempts to allow them in Div1. Referring to the league restructure, are we really going to see a suitable league restructure rattled up before season starts? All we will get is a little more money drop down the tiers and possibly a play-off position? Once rangers are promoted out of the league after 1 season everything will go back to near normality and we will have gained nothing! Any other Newco would be dropped down to 3rd without a seconds delay, and every SFL club will get the benefit as they progress back through the leagues! One question though is how will St Mirren/ ICT/ Ross Co/ Hibs feel about a Play off place being offered - doubt they will be too happy about this!
  25. He's arguing the case for the h*ns coming in to 1st Div saying it will give us a greater income next year, but as been pointed out to him we will receive that income in 2 years time as newco progress through the leagues, in fact giving all SFL clubs a boost rather than Div 1 for one season only!
