Speaking to Rovers fans on P&B and they like big Mark. When we signed Muirhead, the Annan fans were all full of praise, and apparently can play centre back, right back and in midfield. Jackie is certainly bringing in some gems. Hopefully Ross Forbes will be another success.

First game was awayn to Airdrieonians Sep 1972 Won 3-1. First home gain v Aberdeen Nov 1972 Lost 0-2.I remember the game v. Ferranti Thistle. It was our first home Sunday game. 6000 at the game??? Changed days!!!

Re the attendance. It was a dissapointment, but with it being on Alba and sandwiched in on an international weekend, I suppose we are not surprised. Positives -- Jags keep rolling on!!

Im sure Donald Turner was our manager prior to 1947, a Thistle man. Recently weve had a fair mixture of managers from different connections.May say a lot, but any trophies, promotions we have had have been won with non old firm connections as managers. Lets hope Jackie breaks the mould,

Was a Rangers stalwart for years. Played at centre half. or half back. 490 appearances for Rangers. (His only club). Retired in 1936. Became Thistle manager in 1947 til his death. He was only 58.

Cup semi finals in consecutive years under Wee Bertie. Lost 2-4 v Aberdeen, when Roughie botched a couple of easy crosses. Really thought we were gonna win the cup that year. Next season against THEM from Ibrox. 0-1 in the replay. First game the famous goal from Badger Houston that was ridicolously chopped off. Hibs in the final as well. We would have humped them.
