  1. Totally agree with this. We need to be realistic. Great achievement this season but we can't expect a continual improvement of our league position. Next season will bring new challenges. New players, new opposition and other teams strengthening/weakening. In the last two seasons we have seen unexpected teams in trouble and even relegated. Having only 12 teams in the league and the 'exciting' split creates a precarious situation. We may have a worse season next year but if we stay up I will be happy. A fourth season in the top league is unprecedented in my time as a Jags fan.
  2. 8th place achieved at Archie's 100th game as our manager, the 100th game of his managerial career. He deserves a great deal of credit for that. In 1994/5 when we last achieved 8th, it was a ten team league. I wonder when we last finished above 4 other teams in the top league?
  3. I imagine that Archie will decide whether to strengthen the central defence once he knows if Abdul is going to stay.
  4. Congratulations to GJ and LIB. A big thank you to Willjag for selflessly organising the sponsorship for the benefit of the club.
  5. That's crazy, Will. Sorry I never spotted that. I have donated one of my balls! (There's a joke in there somewhere). Perhaps one of the others with three chances to win could do so too. Willjag - Balls 1 & ? Bowen Boys - Balls 2 & 3 Lambies Lost Doo - Balls 4 & 5 The Devils Point - Balls 6 & 7 Fawlty Towers - Balls 8 & 9 Jagfox - Balls 10, 11 & 12 German Jag - Balls 13, 14 & 15 Paralytic Thistle - Balls 16 & 17 Mediocre Pundit - Balls 18 & 19 Falklandal1 - Balls 20 & 21 Andy Mac - Ball 22 Derby Jag - Balls 23 & 24 The Sons of Somner - Balls 25 & 26 Jaggy - Balls 27, 28 & 29 Oor Wull - Balls 30 & 31 Jagaloon - Balls 32 & 33 Jaggernaut - Balls 34 & 35 Junior - Balls 36 & 37 Billko - Balls 38 & 39 Lady Isobel Barnet - Balls 40 & 41 Northstander - Balls 42 & 43 The Sunnylaw Jag - Balls 44 & 45 Hopeless Unbeliever - Balls 46 & 47 SB1876 - Balls 48 & 49
  6. Hope you win this, Billko (if I don't!). Would be a bit ironic, I suppose, after your son's bad news this week but you could wear the top at the first game of next season. Really is a pleasure to have you here. Good poster, and not just for the youth reports. Was looking at the Thistle Weir calendar at work today. Wondered who Billko Junior is. Any clues?
  7. Hertfordshire has a bing, it's called Watford.
  8. Congratulations to Archie, Shaggy and the playing squad. 44 points and safe with three games to go is a tremendous achievement.
  9. Text message from Archie at full time. Nice touch from the club.
  10. I really don't care who wins the play off as long as it isn't Sevco. There are two reasons for this. 1. I hate them. Fans of Rangers now support this club and insist on the continuity of history while showing no remorse for cheating people, many of them sole traders or small businesses, out of money. Lots of money. 2. The return of the Celtic v The Team That Plays In Blue At Ibrox fixture will cause the young and delicate shoots of rebirth of football in Scotland to wither. The media will talk of nothing else because it believes, wrongly, that it is important. Doncaster and his cronies will be relieved as they have proved to be totally inept at developing and promoting the game without this marquee fixture (4, 5 or 6 times a year). Unfortunately, if Sevco fail in the play offs, the establishment will simply put the shutters up for another year (or two)(or as long as it takes) because they have no vision for the future of the game that doesn't involve this hatred filled tie.
  11. Perhaps not so good for the rest of us. Born and raised in Colchester but that was a long time ago. Not looking too good for the U's just now.
  12. It really is a great story with all its twists and turns. It might be a good idea to add to your crowdfunded appeal any credentials you have for writing the book. No disrespect intended but I have no idea of the extent of your writing talent. Would be happy to support such a project but need convincing.
  13. It's surely a reference to Sevco's inability to win a third diddy league in a row.
  14. I like that as an away top. It's obvious from this topic that it is very difficult to please fans. I didn't like this season's home kit when I saw photos but love it on the pitch. But I'm really a hoops man. There is one thing that I really, really hate, red shorts.
  15. I'm a TAG member purely because I'm a season ticket holder. Still waiting for all of the items on the 'feature-filled' list to be implemented for this season. What happened to Membership to one of the Club's official supporters' federations? Would be interested to know whether TAG Plus features have all appeared yet. Access to a dedicated director? Monthly draw for attending a game as a Director's guest? Annual TAG Plus social event? When I do my list of pros and cons of buying season ticket for next season, TAG won't even feature. Such a shame, I thought it was going to be good way back at the launch.
  16. Yes, I agree, it does look better. The kids don't though, they want to look just like their heroes. Plus the fact that the two of them cost £70 and are clearly not worth it.
  17. Whatever the design, I hope that the MacB logo doesn't start to peel off after three washes like this seasons did.
  18. Yes, thanks. Silly me. Must have been counting both cheeks as one arse.
  19. So the SPFL allowed Hibs to do it last season and therefore a precedent has been set. I am outraged by a lot of things that happen at Ibrox but fail to see why you blame them for this. SPFL bent the rules.
