  1. Celtic showed great disrespect to ICT on Saturday and got what they deserved. They saved their best team for tonight to become the first team to go out of the Champions League twice in three weeks.
  2. If strengths/weeknesses of particular players can be illustrated and countered/exploited then video is a useful tool. I would be surprised if we don't use it. We are a Premier League team. None of our players should be over-awed or over-confident going into any game.
  3. From an interview with Higgy on the OS, regarding Hamilton: "haven’t seen too much of them this season to be honest but people always say they like to play football" Is it not common practice to view video of opponents before a match? This might be limited, being 1) early in the season and 2) Hamilton, but I would have thought Archie would have had the squad watching every available second.
  4. Four excellent posts. How's your head this morning?
  5. Sighs of relief echo around the Partick Thistle office.
  6. Some work better than others - Taylor Sinclair > Richards Everton > Johnson Thompson (Katarina, athlete)
  7. It's testament to the quality of Archie's signings that I'm not bothered about this at all.
  8. Higgy, Higginbotham, King of the wild front three.
  9. To put our draw with Fleetwood into perspective, they are currently top of League One. Two points clear after three games. The only 100% record in the league. Two of their wins, though, have been against the current and pointless bottom two, Crewe and Lyle Taylor's Scunthorpe.
  10. A game of two halves for me, 30 years in England and 29 in Scotland. My thought take me back to Layer Road, Colchester. 1. The long walk around the terracing at half time to stand behind other goal. Seemed perfectly normal at the time. 2. The score boards being hung on the hooks below the half time letters. Invariably the important scores I was looking for remained frustratingly blank due to late kick offs. 3. Gazing forlornly through the shop window at the double LP of the match commentary from the FA Cup game when the U's beat the mighty Leeds United.
  11. The death has been announced of James Alexander Gordon, the Scot who read the football results on BBC radio for 40 years. These days we know all the results before we leave Firhill but for years Jag brought delight and despair with his, often imitated but never matched, emotive intonation. Someone on Radio 5 just said "It feels like the end of childhood" RIP Jag
  12. No, still don't get it. Can anybody clarify for the stupid among us?
  13. Struggling to make sense of that sentence tbh.
  14. To answer the question raised in the OP, like that!
  15. FFS He's only been here for two f***ing days!
  16. That was impressive, often sublime. Won't pick out any player for special mention, all immense. Congratulations Archie and Shaggy. Welcome Osman, Stevenson, Seaborne.
  17. In excess of 3,000 season tickets sold is impressive. I hope it's true and that the figures will be published on the OS (I know you're reading this).
  18. Thanks. Never thought of that! Brain smaller than I imagined!!
  19. I very much appreciate your updates on the young jags teams. However, my small brain finds it hard to follow the progress of each team when reported in an ad hoc way. Don't know about anybody else but I would find it easier if you set up separate threads for each of the teams and updated them through the season. I would hope that such valuable threads could be kept on topic. Tall order, I know! Once again, thanks for keeping me informed.
