  1. It had been snowing all afternoon. We were 1 - 0 down at half time. It was a youth squad player with the broom. Kicked off the second half and Aberdeen scored again. Game abandoned shortly after that. The following Tuesday the game was replayed and we lost 7 - 0. Apart from that, your memory is spot on! The trip to Metz was indeed an amazing night.
  2. Perhaps you would have went if you had taken one of the many opportunities available to buy a ticket. Partick Thistle value their young fans and I, for one, applaud that.
  3. 45mins before kick off of the most important game of the season. ALL Jags fans will be on their way to Firhill. Curious time to announce anything.
  4. Half a dozen London casuals pushed past me in the, so called, catering queue. They left through a fire exit followed by a couple of cops. No idea what they were doing at the game. We really don't need them.
  5. Can't believe that anybody is giving a toss about Kilmarnock tonight!
  6. Got the boys calmed down and into bed. They are only 4 & 6 and think this happens all the time! It's been a much longer, harder road for me (and you). Who's going to calm me down? Whatever happens from here on, it has been an incredible ride this season. Great football, terrific atmosphere, amazing marketing. There is only one way to sum it up. One Thistle - Forever And Ever Intrigued by what is going to be announced at 7pm on Wednesday.
  7. If we win our next two games and Morton lose their next two games, we'll have 71pts with 5 to play, they'll have 61 with 4 games left. If we lose our next two games, they win their next two and Dunfermline disappear, we'll have 56pts with five left, Morton 60pts, 4 to play. Far too many variables still.
  8. Clearly, winning this cup is trivial compared to promotion and therefore the Morton game is more important. However, it is a cup final. As I have only been a Jags fan for 22 years it will be my first and I intend to enjoy myself. For my 4 & 6 year old boys it will be a magical day out and I won't be telling them that it isn't important.
  9. I am deeply shocked at reading this. Ian Mac has been saying repeatedly that the North Stand is for Jags fans and the police are happy with this. Now this news. If this goes ahead, I for one will not be attending the game. I imagine all Jags fans will be in the same boat.
  10. Brilliant result by, without doubt, the best footballing side in the league. We have dealt with huge pressure for weeks in the game of catch up. Great credit to a rookie manager and his young squad. Interesting to see how long Morton dealt with the pressure. Bottled it in the first game. White flags flying in Greenock? I expect a real kicking, literally, from their 'seasoned pro's' on April 10.
  11. We Are Partick Thistle And We Will Claim Points When We Want ! We have a fantastic team at the moment. Full of spirit, concentration and skill. We have a manager who has addressed the problem of our away form and turned us into the champions elect. But the title of this topic is very silly.
  12. I agree. What Archie has done is provide cover in case of injury as he is himself injured.
  13. Whatever. The important thing is that Archie has acted swiftly and shrewdly to provide defensive cover until the end of the season.
  14. Your team have done well and it's not over yet. I would be amazed if we didn't drop points on the run in, even gods slip up occasionally. We have handled tremendous pressure over the last few weeks. Playing catch up with games in hand isn't easy. We have had a change of manager too. We will see how well this great young team and rookie manager cope with this new situation. If Archie can keep them on their toes, we will win the league. This is the season of dreams for Jags fans. The team are playing scintillating football (look it up). Morton have done well to hoof their way into second place but now you are under pressure. Journeymen who have seen success pass them by before. They have done well enough. A lot of our players have a bright future and are a joy to watch. I imagine many SPHell chairmen are sleeping easier now we are in our rightful place too.
  15. A key to avoiding this situation is another win at Cowdenbeath on Saturday. Not just for the three points in the Bank of Thistle but also helping Dumbarton to free themselves of playoff fears before 4 May.
  16. Dunfermline fans to pay the administrator's fees?? These guys charge about £250 an hour. They are scumbags leeching money from those who are desperate. If HMRC accept DAFC going into administration, many players and backroom staff will be sacked the same day. Who will pay their wages then? Will Thistle's 'gesture' include the players who will no longer be employees of Dunfermline? Can their fans afford to come to Firhill if they are paying the fat administrator f**kers?
  17. I read somewhere that they can sign for another club up to March 31. After that they are f**ked until next transfer window. Can't remember where I saw it. Can't find my glasses either. Got my name and address written on a slip of paper in my wallet too, just in case this memory problem gets any worse. If the story was in a newspaper it is almost certainly not true. Anybody seen my wallet?
  18. The year after losing the cup final to Chelsea, the same great Leeds team (Sprake, Charlton, Bremner, Lorimer, Clarke, Giles, Madely etc) lost a fourth round cup tie at Colchester United 3-2. A real giant killing. One of the most amazing games I have been at. This young Thistle side are providing a few amazing performances too. April 10 has the potential to live long in the memory.
  19. Misunderstanding, Tjag. I didn't get the safety implication you intended. Think Lady Issy makes a good suggestion.
  20. Shuffling along may be an inconvenience to you or I, to somebody whose life involves sitting in a wheelchair it would be a joy. End of topic.
