  1. TM, I might be in the minority but I welcome you here. It is both heartwarming and healthy to engage with fans of 'the enemy' in this exciting battle for promotion. Your frank and open views are, generally, enlightening. It is good to read a rivals assessment of the situation. We all love football. As we approach the serious end of the season it is very exciting that our clubs are involved in a battle the like of which we normally watch others engage in. I am sure you are here to wind us up and I am surprised how successful you have been. Well done. I prefer to take positives from your engagement. On April 10 I will directly address my venom to you, wherever you are in our great stadium. That night will, probably, determine the outcome of this season. It will be a tremendous occasion for all of us. In the games between us you have the upper hand and that fact may have a bearing on the night but I doubt it. Whatever the outcome of this season, it has been a great battle, the most exciting league in Scotland. I am sure that the best team will prevail. But if it doesn't I will raise a glass to you and drink through gritted teeth.
  2. Perhaps he wanted a reprise of the 'John Brown, John Brown, What's The Score?' chant from the night of the great 3 - 0 humping we gave Oldco.
  3. Or Kirkcaldy. Hmm... My argument is starting to come apart at the seams.
  4. True enough BC. I think supporters of most SFL1 clubs would put a few pennies in for Dunfermline though. However, I wouldn't want to be holding a bucket in Greenock!
  5. Sorry, that was badly phrased. In the first paragraph 'us' refers to Partick Thistle Football Club. In the second paragraph 'us' means all football fans.
  6. Yes, even though. It is not for us to bail out another club. I'm sure the SFL would have something to say about it too. If Dunfermline did actually find themselves only 10 or 15k short of the amount they need to fulfill their fixtures then I would hope that bucket collections at all SFL1 matches would raise the required amount with ease. As fellow football supporters, none of us would let a club go to the wall for the sake of the coppers in our pockets.
  7. LJ, I think the question you pose ought to be, Would/could/should Thistle offer them the difference? IMO the answer is No/No/No
  8. Thistle's 'gesture' is not intended to keep DAFC afloat to the end of the season and thereby 'protect our finances'. Regarding lost finances, as it stands the only clubs not to have had 2 home games against Dunfermline are Livi, Morton & Thistle. These clubs are in danger of losing out. Thistle being the last Dumbarton away game of the season are at greatest risk. A potential blow for all 3 clubs. I really hope DAFC survive. Not just 'til the end of the season. Not for the cash. Not for the two points. For the lifelong Dunfermline supporters. The money men who play monopoly with football clubs care nothing the the real heart of the club as they roll the dice.
  9. Good news. Let's hope for a great performance from the stands tomorrow. Archie & Shaggy's Red And Yellow Army.
  10. Home to Aberdeen, 0-1 at half time, the snow, the broom, the second goal, the delight at abandonment. The game was replayed on the Tuesday and we were hammered 7-0. We were at Ipox the following Saturday singing "We'll support you, We'll support you, We'll support you up to four". Lost 4-1
  11. Not sure what to make of gestures like this. Imagine our club were facing a Winding Up order. Extinction in 8 days. A club we are due to play away in 5 weeks offers the chance to book tickets now. Any takers? Or (hopefully) The Pars live on. Imagine that 600 Pars fans turn up. Allowing for some being under 16's, I suggest an average of £10 net income. One thousand pounds would be shared between the Dunfermline playing staff. Less than £50 each? Is it a great gesture? When you look at it closely, is it even good PR? I'm not so sure.
  12. I agree. Promotion/relegation decided over 14 games making it a lottery. Taking it a stage further to the ludicrous inclusion of Celtic Colts. Imaging a league of 8 teams in which one team is not allowed to be promoted anyway. Total nonsense. When this proposal was first discussed on BBC Radio 5, it was explained thus 'In order to get away from 4 leagues, there will be 3 leagues which split into 4 halfway through the season'. How do we get rid of these idiots and get our game back?
  13. So do my boys. They have a combined age of ten.
  14. It's dreadful. I wish it would go away
  15. Imagine how long the Thistle Goals DVD will be at the end of the season! Three more crackers here. Certainly wasn't our best game this term but check out the sweeping 18 pass move started by a Fox throw at 9.56. Nearly resulted in a deflected fourth.
  16. Hope this doesn't come to pass. We would drop 9 points and Morton 7.
  17. Whatever tactics a team use against us we have to deal with. Very glad we played our 'Get Out Of Jail Free' card that night. Seven points would be a great return from these games and Champions form.
  18. Glad you're so confident about the forthcoming away fixtures. We were lucky with the fog.
  19. I noticed that for the first time yesterday too. Also, Muirhead seemed less inclined to take on defenders when he did go forward. With the away fixtures ahead it might not be a bad idea to stiffen up in defence.
  20. Referee indicated a push. Didn't see it myself.
