Try Higgy up front with Ryan playing just in front of the midfield... Higgy did well up front himself when he came on at Hamilton. I think they'd link up well.

Bannigan is not an aggressive or particularly combative midfielder but he can be wreckless and by the looks of it he has absolutely no learning curve... He's done this time and time again so when is he going to grow out of this? Archie has to have real words and maybe some time in the bench to let him think about how he can improve as a professional. Especially with Welsh and Fraser returning to fitness, there should be ample cover in that area. There's no way of saying Banzo lost us the game tonight but he alone certainly ended it as a competition... You're better than this Banzo... Sort it out.

Rubbish game... I hate watching St Johnstone but that style of play always seems to work against us. It's the same with Ross County. Unfortunate that our best chance of the match came when Doolan was on the deck injured. If he'd been on his feet, I'm convinced he'd have buried that. I feel this team doesn't capitalise enough on the periods of the game when we've got the momentum and the other team are on the ropes. There were times especially in the 1st half where St Johnstone couldn't get near the ball and were defending really deep. We looked certain to score at this point but when it broke down, instead of keeping the pressure on at maintaining the momentum, we just lost all sense of ungancy and let them off the hook. I think we need to take more risks sometimes in games... Very sporting of McFadden to pass the ball back to Fox when he found himself in the box with the ball at his feet and nobody near him. Not too disheartened by the performance today. United are a really strong side and we played them off the park for large periods of the game. In the end it was a dodgy decision from the ref that led to their penalty and denied us what should have been a well earned point. Here's my ratings... Fox - 8 Best performance so far this season. Closed down Ciftci well when 1 on 1. Something he's been guilty of ******* up in the past. SOD - 7 Caused real problems when going forward. Good solid game and apart from a couple of slack passes he would have had 8. Balatoni - 7 Does so much better with Seabo talking him through the game. At one point played a great one two with McMillen and found himself in space in the final third. Panicked and passed back to Banzo in midfield! Seaborne - 8.5 What a find. Confident and assured on the ball as well as being a leader on the park. Dominated at the back today. Ciftci finally got the better of him but as I said, the guy had a 2 yard head start thanks to the linesman. McMillen - 9 Much more attacking today and had one of his best game for Thistle that I've seen. Crisp tackling (aside from the yellow card challenge) his reading of the game is superb. Osman - 8 Solid as a rock. Getting booed from the Arab support just goes to show how good a job he does. Not much got passed him and he rarely list the ball. Banzo - 6.5 Quieter from Banzo today. Seemed to lack energy but still occasionally found space to bound forward. Craigen - 5 If only his ability matched his work-rate and enthusiasm then Jimmy would be a top player. Moments of magic today but not enough of them for me. Lawless - 6 Had a decent game. Caused some problems when he found space but United did a good job containing him. Denied by a good save from Cierzniak. Elliot - 8 I though he was great today. Good physical presence on the wing and was unlucky with his looping shot that hit the bar. With Higgy missing I have no problem starting with Christie. Doolan - 7 Ran his socks off and although we played well as a team, Dools only had scraps to feed on today. Still caused problems and forced another good save from Cierzniak. Stevenson I doubt touched the ball when he came on. Anyway. Onwards and upwards...

Pre-match warm up, Gary Fraser out doing laps of the pitch but no sign of Welsh at all... I hope he's not had another set-back.

Aside from the question mark over the increasingly dated nature of the lyrics, I find the tune terrible. It's pretty down-beat and I don't find it rousing at all. Le Marseillaise, now THAT is an up-beat rousing anthem and I don't have the faintest idea what they are singing about but it's great! I think we should have Shang-a-lang by the Bay City Rollers belted out before Scotland matches...

Wee Lawless is having a great game... What a ball in for Dools. Perfection! We're playing ok in spells but still looking shakey at the back. Stevenson is looking really off the pace TBH. Slow and low in confidence. Higgy causing problems as usual but gave away another really stupid free kick and got himself carded for it again. Is that him suspended for the next game is it?

Not much to add to this here. A pretty lacklustre performance against a rank rotten Morton side who could/should easily have put 2 or 3 past us if it wasn't for their ineptness in front of goal. That said... Doolan's goal was a thing of beauty. Trademark perfect 1st touch and turn and slotted past their keeper. How many times have we seen this from the Auchinleck Meerkat?

Thought he was a tidy enough player for us but as has been said before slowed play down too much and I always thought his passing was a bit negative. Sideways and back passing. Don't think I ever saw him play a defense splitting through ball for us...

Just a little bit more consistency this season should see us finish comfortably above the play off spot. I predict Doolan and Higgy to have the season of their lives and for us to keep the same ethos, playing style and team spirit as last year and score a bucket load of goals against Killie, St Mirren, Hamilton and Dundee. I think we're capable of finishing 7th...

Harkins would probably be looking at this move (whatever it maybe) as maybe his last chance to make a mark. He is undoubtably a talent and when on his game, he is something to behold. So it's a yes from me...
