Sign of the present times we live in. Our youth programme is still pretty much in its infancy, as are most other Scottish clubs development policy but the future looks good I believe, especially here at Firhill, the talent being developed will begin to come through over the next 5 years or so , give it time .

The original poster ( Javajag)needs to give the Bridge an apology for the remarks he made. Our Chris is going well and I'm happy for him , just a pity he's doing it for the wrong bloody team !!!! We will be waiting with open arms Chris to welcome you back home anytime son !!

Was at firhill last week and so disappointed in the display and the collapse at the end that I vowed for the 3,223rd time that I wouldnt be back at firhill again !! Went to Pittodrie and watched us being beaten quite emphatically by a team whose standard is far above our own and to have come away with a 2-0 defeat was almost like a victory , it could have been so much worse, so , lets take one or two positives from this last game. 1) we only conceded 2 goals and terrific strikes at that , Gallacher had no chance with either. 2) the new boys have potential to do well for us, give them time to gel 3) we successfully defended set pieces and there was plenty of them considering that the ref was wearing a red shirt underneath the top one !!. Will i be at firhill next sat ? Of course I will, theres nowhere else I'd rather be on a Sat afternoon, and as an eternal optimist in my 64th year I am confident that i will see the Jags lift another major trophy before I pass along . ps. need to edit the time factor for the Caley game, it means i will be at firhill a week on sat !! the 13th (OMG) to be precise !!! Thank goodness its not a Friday !!

I'm booked on the Goldbus for Sat morning to watch the mighty Partick Thistle FC , expecting to see a good all round entertaining contest between 2 refreshingly attacking teams in what I'm hoping to be a high scoring (for the Jags) football match. I have every faith in Archie to keep us up again this season and in fact to go a few places better at the finish, just hope we can keep him at Firhill for the foreseeable future, Lets hear it for the Jags !!

Am so pleased and happy to see a much improved performance from Stevie Lawless , the whole team seem to have found that spark they had in our championship year , playing with so much confidence and style , our younger players will do us proud this season along with an experienced ( albeit only one season) top flight group of energetic footballers , I can see good things happening once again at the Stadium of thrills , lets hear it for the Jags !!

Seaborne is listed as basically being in the team from the start, so probably as I suspected , a real bunch of ***** reporters who only fleetingly give coverage to the other ten professional football teams in the top flight and even less to the oldest professional club in Glasgow !!

Just read the team sheet for tonights game and according to the Daily Old Firm, Osbourne is on the team sheet/ bench , is he back with us ? or am I giving the media too much trust to get the info right for a change !!

Dont know why we don't try some of our young talent this season, blood them in while the chance is there with a few also rans in the league this year, young Ryan Gauld was a sensation for Utd, and Gary Fraser last season played some nice stuff for us, our U 20's team is brimming with some good prospects.

Wouldn't take a chance mate !!

Can't understand the anti- Elliott posts here, the man has been a grafter all last season when he came in , I'd rather see him in the team as a sub coming on when opposition legs are tiring , and hes scored a few vital goals as well , so please leave the guy alone , i believe a second season in the top flight will see our young lads flourishing as never before , lets start becoming a bit more positive .

The puns and jokes are flying in fast, wouldn't mind seeing that wee boxing postman from Motherwell getting a game with us !!!

Great result !! Brave man !! Certainly not expecting Engerland to qualify on that showing , and very happy that they don't , it will of course be followed by reams and reams of after event analysis by the usual farts who are overpaid from my tv licence fee to talk the most utter drivel possible, I'll be out on the golf course for the next fortnight and be hoping by that time the post mortem will be finished , c'mon Uruguay !!!!

Thanks David, good read and I was also a born and bred Thistle supporter, difference being my Dad was an addicted follower, down to the end , he started me off by lifting me over the turnstiles from the age of about 5 ( 58 years ago) and I helped him up the stairs in the main stand for his last one which Thistle won 3-1 against Ross County I think in March1982 so he was quite happy after his last visit to Firhill only 3 months before he passed away. We watched the memorable Final of '71 together perhaps for both of us one the happiest days ever, anyway , thanks again for your post , and lets all hope for better things to come in this second season is the top flight where we deserve to be.

Dont know if anyone told you Mark but you will have to pay for your flight to Spain and make sure you've got the money for your hotel room , you'll be sharing with 3 others !!

Good luck to Sincy, am sure he'll benefit from the move south although I do think its utter pish that we dont get any compensation, another reason the Scottish game is sinking ever deeper into the proverbial !!
