  1. Couldn't make the game today.can you elaborate?? Cheers.
  2. Couldn't be at the game today but I'm absolutely delighted with the result.I feared we would struggle without patons industry and drive in midfield but what do i know!?! Think big Archie is doing a great job and until we as fans are otherwise informed I think we should leave the whole manager issue alone and focus all our attention and support on Archie, the team and our exciting conclusion to what's turning out to be the best season for our team in a long time.
  3. While I agree we need continuity at this stage of our season I feel we maybe need that little boost a new manager sometimes brings to a new team. Mortons "paint by numbers" style of football, whilst awful to watch,is proving effective and maybe bringing in Evans would be the catalyst we need for one final charge at the title. Evans as gaffer and Archie as his playing assistant would be ideal if you ask me.
  4. Best:Chico, his range and accuracy of passing was incredible. Worst:Jukka Santala.scored a few goals if I remember correctly but was absolutely horrendous at pretty much everything else!!
  5. I have been following the jags for a long long time and I have experienced some devastating lows and some incredible highs so I'm qualified enough to say without doubt that the current team are playing, this season, the best football of any jags team i have witnessed. They've been a joy to watch and I believe there's more to come as the season gets to the business end of things!!! One team in Glasgow!!!
  6. At times this season i have thought the criticism levelled at Murray has been a bit harsh but after today he's going to get all he deserves. If that was one of the younger players I would have been disappointed in them but for a seasoned pro, who Archie had obviously turned to today to steer the team through one of the biggest games in the clubs recent history it was outrageous for him to react the way he did and be sent off. Before his red card I would have probably been on here praising him for his performance but after that he's got to have used up his nine lives as far as his thistle career is concerned.
  7. I'm still stunned and angry in equal measure about how we lost the Boxing Day fixture against Morton. The weird thing is league tables don't lie and they must be doing something right to be top but there is no denying thistle are by far the better footballing team and its because of this I firmly believe that sooner rather than later we will be back where we belong. Mortons luck and p*ss poor brand of football has got to come a cropper soon. Iv got butterflies already about the game and can't wait to be part of the red n yellow army that tears crappielow a new one!!
  8. Gareth Evans for me(if for some reason it doesn't work out for Archie n shaggy) iv seen the last two games against livi and was very impressed with the way his team went about their business.i would be absolutely devastated if someone like McPherson got the job long term.in the meantime Archie n the team will get my full backing.
  9. Thought it'd take me ages to get over yesterday's news but now that its all official and jackie snake eyes has shown his true colours I'm up for the title charge more than ever.good luck to big Archie n shaggy.has the potential to be a good partnership.
  10. Jackie leaving would be a hammer blow no doubt but its still the same players who have taken us where we are just now and I'd like to think at this stage of the season the players and remaining coaching staff are well versed in his training/tactics etc to see us carry on in the same vein.I would love to say I wish him all the best at united but he's jumped ship at the first opportunity to a club who are in the middle of drastic financial constraints and I think he might live to regret his decision.I sincerely hope the board have an ace up their sleeve because if his exit and next managerial decision isn't handled correctly it could set the club back years. Unfortunately I think it's almost inevitable at some stage he'll be back to "strip us for parts".the likes of erskine,Paton, bannigan etc might not be able to resist the move either!!
  11. I can understand why people may think our bubbles burst but you don't become a bad team overnight.up until recently we've been the best team in the league.some of our displays this season have been the best iv ever seen in 20+ years watching the jags.its just not been happening for the team of late.against morton we should have been out of sight before they got back into it,an away point at airdrie wasnt the end of the world as far as the game went and livi last week we were seconds away from a very good result.in all these games we had enough chances to win 5 games! iv seen enough football to know we just need to ride this storm and hope we come out of it soon enough that we're still there or there abouts to maintain a realistic challenge.the next 2 games will make or break our season.

    Just In

Still absolutely gutted with result.feels like a defeat.a draw was just about right as smith had a couple of really good saves second half but I felt we had done enough to take the 3pts.At the time I thought welsh was doing the right thing, fouling where he was as they were always dangerous on the counter.saying that tho I hadn't even realised he was booked!! Agree with most about Forbes. He's a talented player with the ball at his feet but very lazy and pedestrian without it. Big Archie was superb today and I thought if everyone had his and Paul patons desire we would be sitting top of the league right now.couple of the boys don't seem to want it enough of late.on a positive note,we're only two points behind with two games in hand and if I was offered this scenario at this stage at the start of the season I would probably have taken it.
  13. I think those of us who are pressing the panic button should take a deep breath and calm down.yes it was pretty poor stuff today at times and boxing days result was particularly hard to take but every team in every league will have a run of poor results at some stage.teams like airdrie are a joke and when playing the top teams will defend and time waste all day long.as long as the team remains focused and patient I'm sure it'll be a matter of time before we get back to winning ways.in the meantime it'll be interesting to see how Morton deal with the pressure of being the top team.iv seen the majority of games this season and iv yet to see any team better than the jags. I'm not his biggest fan but I thought smith had a good game today.also, when Doolan came on I thought he looked sharp and posed a threat. One negative note is,and it may sound strange considering he scored but erskine's current form has been poor.
  14. For a player with erskine's abillity it's not enough, that in our biggest game of the season so far,he has just a hand in one goal.he done very little else and was substituted again remember!!
  15. Still perplexed as to how we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.ref was absolutely ridiculous in some of his decisions and in my opinion was the sole reason for morton getting back into the game.in all honesty though we should have been out of sight at half time.I know it was a soft sending off but Forbes should have realised the ref was a bomb scare and not have dived in for his "2nd" booking.we are anything but a dirty team but our disciplinary record is something of a concern now.crazy as this will sound,in my opinion, thistle are the best footballing team in the division but when teams like Morton,Hamilton,Dunfermline play like they do it may not be enough to win the league!!!
  16. With all the uncertainty surrounding Craig's future,to let Doolan go would be crazy.what is worrying me more is the form of erskine.for the 3rd game on the bounce I found him to be miles off the pace and obviously with other things on his mind?
  17. 18. If the weather doesnt get any better it may well have a big say on the attendance also.(thats if the game goes ahead).Forget xmas....the morton game is all i can think about!! I think 3pts on wednesday would be a massive step towards the title.
  19. fantastic three points for the jags.going a goal down i was expecting raith to defend and frustrate but fair play to them, they made a game of it.big guy up front was a real handfull.wouldnt mind seeing him turning out for us.encouraging thing for me was that while not playing particularly well we still won.still not convinced of smith in goal.find him to be very slow off his line.i'm a big fan of erskine but not for the first time recently i have found him to be in-effective.could his mind be elsewhere???
  20. Just read this interview with that clown Jeffries on the Dunfermline website......What a difference a week makes!! "Dargo got booked for diving. Why would he go down there? He was in the box and if he was on his feet he scores because he beats the last man. There were some decisions that I could not understand. Dargo is an experienced player, he wouldn't go to ground right in front of goal.Only the referee can answer that one."
  21. When I referred to dargo's cleverness I was implying he cheated.in my opinion any striker worth his salt would rather go on and score a goal than fall down with minimal contact to get an opponent sent off.also I think you've taken my 11v11 comment out of context.i wasnt talking about yesterday's game but in general I think pound for pound thistle are a better team.
  22. Watching the sending off incident as it happened,I thought it was a red card(all be it soft) but having just watched highlights it's an absolute disgrace the referees fell for dargo's "cleverness".there's no denying at 11v11 the jags are a far superior team.even a man down we should have got a replay at worst.jeffries has always bugged me and to hear him say they were the better team makes my blood boil.jeffries must know he dodged a bullet today.the one consolation is now we can concentrate fully on league duties and I fully expect us to kick on from this.
