  1. If I understand the situation ... If the fans manage to stump up the £400k or so needed to cover this bill, there is the very real possiblity that the club will turn to them again if the HMRC court case doesn't go in their favour. That's another £1.5m. Then they are expected to also 'invest' in the share issue. That's nearly £4m the club are expecting the fans to cough up, just to cover expenses to see them to the end of the season. Difficult to see how this can end without at least administration.
  2. That was my fear as well - the blue bigots somehow turning this into a consequence of their not being in the SPL. Suppose anything to deflect attention from their own pish. No matter what our past is, i've got no sympathy for any company that doesnt pay its dues. Still, hope somebody with an interest in Hearts (rather than just making cash) can step in and start to turn things around.
  3. For the record I am not taking the line that 'if you can't afford to go, don't go'. TBH, after shelling out around £60 to go to Cowdenbeath a few weeks ago, I couldn't afford to go if I was able to, but hope a decent away support can go and see another Jags win. When I saw the pricing for the Falkirk game, it was natural for me to work out how much it would cost to go to the game with my son. I do agree with those that think the pricing at TFS is a bit steep. What I disagree with is the suggestion that we adjust our prices in response to what we are charged at other grounds. Most clubs charge different prices and attending away games is going to vary in terms of what it costs to go to a game at Firhill. We should be welcoming fans, not trying to get one over them. If they want to do that, that's their issue.
  4. We can't take part in a race to the bottom. We set our prices and as part of that U16s go free - it's not to everyones liking, but i think we should be commended for leading the way rather than trying to find ways in that we can follow others. As stated above Livy have a decent adult and child price, as do Raith, Cowdenbeath and Morton, yet the price varies between them all. Charging away fans similar prices to what we are charged in their stadia? Who's lead do you follow? Falkirk's? Fcuk that. While I agree that fans attending the same game on the same day in the same stadium should be subject to the same pricing, it should stop there, and none of this 'we should subject them to the same when they come to Firhill'. We are better than that. Wearethistle!
  5. Articles like this might be interesting enough to read and compare different teams, but realistically they do not really serve the purpose that Radio Scotland seemed to be discussing today (or what many would derive from such tables), which was affordability or value for money. I'm not really sure what point they serve TBH. For instance, our season tickets can be paid up over 3 months which makes them more affordable to people, against having to shell out the full £260/£285 in one go. This is also at 0%. Schemes like this should have been considered. Celic on the other hand offer their fans an option (through a finance company) to pay their season tickets over 4 months (33.9% APR) or 10 months (not sure % APR) - more affordable payments maybe, but at a cost. Also, just stating the price of a programme, pie and tea doesn't really give any indication of the quality of the items. A £1 pie might be cheap, but they might be crap. I'd have paid double what I did (no idea) for one of those steak bridies from Dunfermline.
  6. I've just looked at pics of the purple/blue strip and compared it to my home top and the style of the logo looks the same (apart from the fact that the logo on p/b top doesn't have a block of colour around it), so I'm not sure where I got my ideas from - sure I read it somewhere?! I've probably completely misunderstood the situation - I thought that the production of completely new tops was what was (understandably) holding things up - if it's just a straight case of supply then that's pretty poor. Sorry for adding to the confusion.
  7. If I understand the situation correctly its not the lack of home tops that is the issue - in coming out of administration the company that now produce macb water changed the style of the logo ever so slightly. The existing tops have the old logo and we are currently waiting for a batch with the new logo to arrive.
  8. GJ - sounds like a great idea - cant see the club/fans etc. not getting behind this. I feel a trip to Ghana and a TV program coming!
  9. Fair enough - but I can't believe that the above (macb transfer) couldn't have been arranged either via puma or greeves, earlier in the season.
  10. Also - anybody else not notice Craig's run and thought 'what the fcuk are you doing?' when Lawless crossed the ball instead of shot. Just me then? Just glad the wee man's got greater vision/awareness than me!
  11. When macb (or the company that owned them) first went into administration, we were lucky enough to get new sponsors. The new sponsor's logo was just stuck over the top of the macb logo, I assume as an iron on transfer or something similar. Can't we just do this with the new macb logo, as I believe that the logo style is the only difference between last seasons home strip and this seasons?
  12. Sure I saw him yesterday at the match with his boy and what I assumed was his other half.
  13. You'd surely have to have some sad shit going on in your life to force you into the seedy world of opportunist lost key collecting.
  14. The best pies money can buy or The best pies he could buy, for the money?
  15. Think you've got a slogan there for a t-shirt. Nobody would have a clue what it meant, but in that respect it'd just about complete the sigesige package.
  16. Patience, Patience. It's still September, and you are wanting September's draw?! Where have you been recently? Whereas they used to be made mid-month, draws are now made in the subsequent month. Thankfully EP isn't in charge of the 50/50 half time draw.
  17. Right I'm going for 26th August 1992 and the 6-3 game at home to Dundee. Funny the things you remember/forget - I was a bit out with the score, but we did trade goals until the 4th, and I still remember the shocker of a tackle in the 'build up' to their second.
  18. I was responding to somebody describing this as a brilliant gesture. I still don't really class this as a moan, but there you go. The strange thing is - i'd be more inclined to agree with you if one person was getting in to the game in this manner and the club were losing £17, and you would probably agree with me if 20 people were getting in, going by you quoting this number in a previous post. Neither of us know how many got in using unused comps on Saturday (and I doubt the club do either) and here we are. It's a wonderful life.
  19. I don't know you outside this forum, so I don't know if you are on the wind-up posting that, but i'll bite. I agree with you on a lot of what you post, but on this one we're at opposite ends of the spectrum. Julie-Ann saw it happening, some people said they didn't, i've just said i've been offered comps before and saw evidence of it on Saturday. I've given my opinion on comps as have you. We disagree, but nobody is moaning. I can't agree with this on the basis that it isn't illegal and not many people benefit from it. It's a topic for feedback - this happened. If the club don't see it as an issue or it's a low priority, that's fine.
  20. That would be a reality show I would watch.
  21. Entering a competition and winning tickets to the match is a different situation - i'd be surprised if anybody thought you were a terrible fan for this. Comps are inevitable. I think all that is being argued on here is that where comps are issued, the club should ask that they are returned if not going to be used. The club sees no benefit to people getting the unused comps - they were on their way to the game and were going to pay in - nobody can make the arguement that 'they might come back in the future' - they were already going. All they've done is save themselves the cash. As for other grounds - as you say, it's not a crime. However, I am pretty sure a similar discussion would have been had on a Raith fan forum if they knew that away fans were getting in for free on unused comps. All we want is whats best for our respective clubs - to get as many paying fans in through the gate.
  22. Cheers Jagfox - this'll be me up til about 3 now - may as well text saying I'll be late for work in the morning already!
  23. Anyone know a site where I can check historical results? Sure I'd seen one before but google not being any help. I think my first game was between 89-91 and was a real end to end affair that either ended 3-2 Thistle or 3-3. Sure it was against Dundee but might have been another team in dark blue. Sure I checked before and couldn't see anything that tallied with my memory, but cant find the site now. I would have been 10-12 hence my vagueness.
