  1. Decent first 20 minutes though we still found it hard to threaten the goal. Then began ceding more and more territory and possession. Fussy ref who will give County a free kick every time a County giant collapses to the turf. County surprisingly profligate with so many headed chances but our luck cannot hold for ever.
  2. I am sure that the first "public" game Ian McCall managed for Thistle was a pre-season friendly at Montrose. We lost 2-0. It was one of these artificial surfaces where lots of black stuff rose up from the pitch every time the ball bounced. It was a return for David Rowson after a few seasons away and was a first sighting for several notable names, including: Liam Buchanan Scott Chaplain Gary Harkins Ryan McStay Marc Twaddle

  7. This may be because, depending on the quality of your eyesight, from a distance McGinty is the only player you can see. If leadership quality is equated with launching the ball into orbit or going closest to the fans when doing the enthusiastic post-game clap, then Big Sean has it in spades.

If we cannot recruit any more players, we have to look hard and long as to how we improve and make better use of the players we already have, and that includes integrating and developing the younger players so that they are ready and able to play their part. The challenge to the funding of the youth academy etc must surely focus minds as to how we derive the maximum benefit from all these players into whom we have invested so much, instead of allowing this potential to slip through our fingers.
  10. Pardon my ignorance, but just trying to get a handle on who is who and does and decides what (or who was who and did and decided what as the case may be). Cannon (Gannon?) is mentioned a lot in relation to budgets etc, and whether or not Gary Caldwell can get his 4 more players. Is he the Finance Director? If so, what role does David Kelly play? Am I right in saying that he is now responsible for finance on a day to day basis (ie he pays for/cancels buses as required), although he is not himself a director. I presume that Cannon came in as part of the new/returning board and my understanding is that they re-appointed Kelly to supervise finance. Who was directing and supervising finance on/under the Jacqui Low board? Apologies as I appreciate that this is probably all very simple to those who know better than I do what is happening and who are all the dramatis personae, but a brief explanation would help me get my head round some of the debates!

  12. Sneddon sound, McGinty dominant, Penrice sticking to his task and a great combination between Palmer and Saunders for the goal. Still it is hard work against a strong team and a poor referee, so a long way to go yet.

  16. I think that AJ may be teetotal, so all that he will be swigging is Irn Bru or Ginger Beer. How he has held to this over so many decades following Thistle I do not know. Hats off, or should that be balaclavas off?
