Thistle head to Tayside A bit concerned by this statement on the official site. I hope Thistle go the extra 15 miles from the banks of the Tay to arrive in Forfar.

Analysing the statement (and trying to ignore the incredible grammar of the first sentence, the only logical interpretation of which is that "the clubs" have been given access to the third division!) leads me to the conclusion that PTFC did vote "No" (thankfully!). In presenting the result of any vote, you always try to put the best spin on it. If you voted on the losing side you would very much like to say that the vote was by a narrow majority. 25-5 does not really allow that, so you would probably settle simply for majority. You might possibly concede clear majority or substantial majority. But you would never say "overwhelmingly" which belittles and marginalises those who voted the other way. Then again, why not just tell us, rather than resorting to coded language?!

Perhaps we will be able to beat Raith now!?

Just back from a few days holiday so missed lots of questions. However, to respond to the Celtic penalty shoot out question, the last Thistle scorer was James Banjo McKinstry. We had 3 opportunities to win, all of which were missed. Then Celtic scored, but Banjo was able to keep us in it.

Arthur was in goals that night. I presume that Stewart was on the bench, but to be eligible to take a penalty he would have had to be substituted on for an outfield player, which I certainly do not remember!

Not sure if it is the first thing you look for in a goalkeeper, but Jonny Tuffey certainly had outstanding motivational qualities in pushing his team forward when we were losing!

I suppose it might be helpful to eliminate the 4 scorers. 4th was definitely Will Snowdon. I would suspect that first 2 were Mark Roberts and Sean Kilgannon and I would take a guess at the 3rd being Billy Gibson. Difficult to remember who was left, so I will have to go with one of the dynamic midfield duo, Jimmy Gibson & Darren Brady. Absolutely no idea so will take a punt on Jimmy Gibson.

Hard to believe that Marko has scored more goals for Ayr (51 according to the BBC) than he scored for us (49, I think).

An advert for a van appeared on this website and prompted the random thought. What about a team full of vans? Edwin Van der Saar in goals and Robin Van Persie centre forward. Can anyone else fill in the gaps? Van Ity might not be good for team spirit and you would not want Van Dal on the terraces either. I am sure that Van Ish was playing for us at Livingston last week.

As a person from the Stone Age I find that quite insulting. I may not have learned how to work metal, but I do not hate and discriminate against anyone because of their religion or lack of it.
