  1. If Shea Gordon was starting I would confidently predict no teams scoring before Thistle. Unfortunately he will be away with Northern Ireland under 21. However, I have to be a bigger optimist than AJ, so I am going for only 3 teams to score before us.
  2. Thank you AFK. You answered my question before I even asked it! In an idle moment this morning I was speculating whether Banzo had been sent off more times than Archie. Now I know, but I suspect that Banzo may have his eyes set on the record. My other idle thought was totally unconnected. I believe that Thistle have supplied 2 right fullbacks/wingbacks to the Sierra Leone national team in the shape of Mustapha Dumbuya and Osman Kakay. Is there any other instance of 2 different Thistle players being capped at full international level by the same country other than Scotland in the same position? I say other than Scotland deliberately as I appreciate that Alan Rough and Nicky Walker both played as goalkeeper for Scotland and I am sure that there are several other examples.
  3. Yes. in JagZone interview, Shea describes how he was just carrying on his run on to the pitch as sub, and as he arrived at the edge of the box, he realised that Tam was going to get his head on the ball, so he hovered in the appropriate zone where the ball might drop
  4. Looks like we agree on the best players today. Do not want to dwell on negatives but Zanatta showed very little heart. With his sort of play, some things work and some things do not work, and that is fair enough, but he has to try hard and put himself about.
  5. Agree that Tam was good today, as were Penrice and Cole, but going to give my MOTM award to Kakay. Covered a lot of ground and showed pace, skill and heart. His run won the corner which led to the passage of play from which Gordon scored his second.
  6. He was even more than OK today!
  7. AJ. I am not going to answer your question, but instead ask a new one of my own. Do you take sugar? And if so, do you provide your own or is it supplied by a daddy? If the latter, is this sustainable in the long term?
  8. I am going to argue with you for 200 pages as I strongly believe that you should put the milk in first. Can you explain the positive reasons for your belief, or is it just an opinion? What experience do you have of the interaction between water and milk? Have you ever been in the water or the milk business and indeed do you have a vested interest in either?
  9. One poster on a previous forum (cannot remember who) always used to refer to it as "The Excellent Main Stand" and I thought that this was its official name.
  10. You could have a debate about whether Martin Hardie was a Thistle legend. However. as a major goalscorer in two consecutive promotion campaigns, he certainly contributed massively to a legendary period in Thistle's history. Also some of his goals have legendary status in their own right. Late winners against Inverness and St Mirren (with subsequent wild celebrations) were huge turning points, putting the promotion train back on track. Maybe if he had slotted the winning penalty in the shoot-out against Celtic, we would not be having this debate.
  11. It doesn't matter if Osman Kakay puts in totally rubbish performances in every game. He will always be OK. The clue is in the initials. The downside is that if he is utterly brilliant, scores and creates goals galore and leads the team to promotion, he will still be OK.
  12. You cannot deny that Osman Kakay is OK.
  13. Not saying that he would have changed the world, but why was Kakay not brought off the bench against Dundee United and not even in the squad for Ayr? Is he injured? He is a decent player, especially going forward, and has some pace and trickery which opens up defences. Given so many poor performances by others over the past week, I would personally start Kakay, but at the very least I would want to him on the bench to provide an energetic option as the game develops. Difficult to take anything positive from yesterday, but thought Slater put in a reasonable shift in a possibly unfamiliar wide role after he came on.
  14. AJ has just beamed me up with his team. He thinks that McCall should show a bit of enterprise and boldly go with the following stars: Armstrong Uhura Chekov Sulu Scott Klingon Aldrin Spock Kirk McCoy Major Tom
  15. Now you're even talking to Star Trek characters as though they were real people.
  16. But only if your car runs on dilithium crystals
  17. Hi BB. Basically gone for all the wee teams (in the hope of some big scores), apart from of course PTFC and the SPFL teams we have not yet played (Elgin/Edinburgh) HHAA HAHH HAHH AHHH
  18. Hi AJ. Looks like you can now stop watching your back episodes of Star Trek.
  19. The Glaziers began there before moving on to Manchester United.
