  1. Keep everyone except: Welsh - we've given him time and we don't have the budget, not a nice decision but needs to be done I think. Elliott - no surprise when he had a run in the first team after new year we failed to pick up many points, then he gets injured for the last six weeks and we take 16 points in 8 games. He just isn't up to it.
  2. Always better getting the second goal when its 1-1. Looks like we're on top given 6 shots 4 on target to countys 1 and 1. Also more possession and an offside goal.
  3. On a side note but it's on the radio just now. Yogi Hughes has earned himself a lot of credit this year. Speaks the truth and is not so arrogant to never accept his team can play poorly. When they deserve to lose he says it and he is always very balanced when he talks. Speaking out like he has against the ridiculous Celtic fiasco is also good for Scottish football, hopefully things might change a little and the spfl will stop feeling so much pressure fro Celtic (wishful thinking). On our game, feeling very positive - last night will give the lads a huge boost. Let's get this tied up and push for 7th place. Will let us get that extra bit of quality over the summer with the extra 100/150k prize money.
  4. Was a clear hand ball and pretty unbelievable it didn't get spotted, but Celtic need to realise they get as much, if not more, in their favour as the rest of the teams. Caley were denied a stonewall second penalty after the keeper launched into the guys back in the second half. Swings and roundabouts - utterly terrible losers.
  5. Just noticed Celtic TV's 'studio' - a nice green screened image, with the two guys sitting on a sofa infront. Surely there is a little room in Celtic Park they could of sat.
  6. Griffiths doing us a favour. Can't wait for County game now, a win would see us strong contenders for 7th spot.
  7. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32319194 Motherwell, Hibs and Hearts wanting to cut it from 50% of gate receipts to 25% of receipts. Personally, I think it would be good from our point of view as realistically we could be involved in the play-offs more than most clubs. While the amount of money when we are not in the play-offs will be negligible really and when everyone gets it, there is no advantage. Quite funny as Motherwell must be seriously thinking they will be involved, not too good a pre-split morale boost for the players.
  8. We can go into the split and assert our authority with a strong win (as in just a win!) over County. If we get that result then I fully believe we will push on for seventh, interestingly County then play Well so a win for Motherwell could drag County back into it. Although it is probably best for us just for Motherwell to lose and confirm our place in the top flight asap. No games at Firhill for a while is a bit disappointing.
  9. I'd like to keep everyone apart from one.
  10. Jagsontour - said this on the TV tonight so guess it's true. I'll take St Mirren, Hamilton, Motherwell, Kilmarnock then Ross County. Two terrible teams first for at least 4 points and safety secured, then the teams getting stronger as we finish. Motherwell mid way as don't want to have them early and get beat giving them confidence - likewise don't want to have them in the end when it may matter. Kilmarnock hopefully safe by second last game and they don't have the fight of late like we do. Again, County safe by last game so it becomes a head to head for 7th place - would be a cracking game. That's in my ideal little world anyway. Whatever the outcome, I think we are just too good all over the park now for us to be dragged in come the last game or two.
  11. Watching St Mirren vs County. St Mirren are so rotten if we don't beat them we deserve a playoff place to be honest. A win against St Mirren will give us 41 points and will pretty much guarantee us safety. Let's hope its the first game of the split, would like to play them before they are confirmed as relegated.
  12. I really like Taylor and he is great for us but he has some way to go before he is that level, lets be honest. His finishing is actually quite poor. He hits the ball very hard towards goal, but whenever he is one on one he usually does the same tactic - firing right at the keeper. Give it a couple of years and I could see Celtic eying him but a bit early. Wouldn't be surprised at having to compete with United/ Aberdeen etc.
  13. Would love Taylor to sign, I'd say blow the budget if we have to. We learned the hard way early on in the season only having Dools as a striker - it's not enough. Taylor seems to love it and he must enjoy being wanted - with him we can maybe push on for top six if we can keep the team in place. There's only one player at the club just now (who has had quite a bit of game time this season during our poor run in particular) that I'd want to let go, which is a real compliment to the squad Archie has put together.
  14. He's been fantastic recently. With Lindsay looking good at Airdrie and having Seaborne and Frans with Richards-Everton as back up we really look well covered long term at CB.
  15. If it was me I'd bring in Tayor for Craigen. Drop Higgy back into midfield. Go with: Fox O'Donnell .. Frans.. Balatoni .. Booth Osman .. Bannigan Higgy .. Stevo .. Lawless Taylor Think Archie might be tempted to swap Craigen for Fraser and drop Lawless or Higgy. As others have said a draw is better for us than Motherwell. Got a good feeling about this game, Well are hyped up on three wins vs three poor teams. We are playing very well and more than stood up against Celtic, even with 10 men.
  16. Well have won three in a row, but they have been against a duff Hamilton, a really duff St Mirren and a relitively duff Kilmarnock. With Balatoni and Frans new found partnership I am confident we can quieten MacDonald et al.
  17. BBC open all mics think it will be us vs Hibs in the playoff final with Hibs 'reclaiming' their place in the top flight. Hope this filters into the dressing room, we are a far better team than St Mirren, Ross County, Motherwell and probably Kilmarnock.
  18. Fox, O'Donnell, Booth, Balatoni, Craigen, Bannigan, Stevenson, Lawless, Frans, Higginbotham, Osman No Taylor, bit strange. Feeling confident tonight for some reason.
  19. A win against Motherwell on Saturday will see us all but safe, a further point vs anyone would seel it. Would mean Well and County both having to finish on 40 points, which is very unlikely given previous seasons points to position comparisons. Also, a win on Saturday will take us above Kilmarnock in the league - a real boost for us.
  20. Out for more or less the rest of the season according to Archie on TAG. In surgery.
  21. Yeh it was nice to see our defence hoofing the ball forward every time in the last 5 mins. We would of used to just pass it out and concede a late goal as a result. I'm all for time wasting late in games with a 1 goal margin. A - because everyone else does it so why shouldn't we. B - because it doesn't detract from the overall game, such as doing it from half time like St Mirren or County when they go infront. Lyle kicking the ball away was perfectly valid and the right thing to do - it wasn't even that bad, seen far worse deliberate examples.
  22. People are set in their ways and we are seeing the back of years in the lower leagues taking its toll on our attendances. First division championship provided real entertainment and then last year was a novelty (so both were well attended). All we can do is get kids coming along and getting them involved so that in 10 years time our crowds will be back up. Kids go free initially seemed to have a good impact with 500 odd kids per game and a noticeable difference at the games in terms of how many kids were there. Now it just seems like business as usual, but the kids still going free. Maybe need to advertise it a bit more and get working more with schools and community centres to reach out further. I used to go to a day Hearts put on each Wednesday night. 5-a-side league and they booked out all of the Pitz - must of been over a hundred kids and it was on two nights a week. The age limit was 12-14 so a good age to pick up supporters as they enter high school and start being more independant. Used to pay a few quid so probably didn't cost Hearts too much. Focus has to be on the future fans and this generation come if its interesting and stay at home if its not, regardless of facilities. Prices are what they are, only a Scotland wide change would ever reduce them.
  23. I'm stuck there as a season ticket holder, but it would be good to get a coffee that is remotely drinkable. Never tasted anything so bad and so weak - a tub of tesco value would be better. Not too hard to make a semi-decent coffee. Getting more fans back is beyond what the board can do with maintenance issues or anything. We need excitement on the pitch (which we get every so often) and we need consistency. The fans we want to attract are those that don't go every week, so all we can do is make them think we will get a result - or else they won't waste their time coming. Firhill has been dead since Christmas.
  24. Looked taller than Frans, big lad. Only touched the ball once I think. Never like unsettling a back line that is holding out when everyone knows who they are marking already etc. Worked fine though.
  25. I thought we no longer have police inside the stadium, perhaps this is a measure introduced as part of keeping that deal? Not sure. It is frustrating, can't think of any other place this happens except at the airport - even clubs etc never do it. For a club that never has any problems it seems over the top, but guess we just have to get on with it.
