  1. Yes, definitely true, AJ. Every time the ball went out on to the right wing, I kept shouting 'Up to Tiff' then remembered he wasn't on. Tiff def provides that running into the box (and most teams can't cope with him) from the wing but I think what Rudden gave us was that penetration into the box through the middle- Squiddy used to do that really well then get the ball through to Doolz, which I think is missing for Graham. Smith is physical but doesn't seem to have the pace for that role. Turner, for me, has the pace for that Squiddy role but is a bit too light in terms of being able to push through the defence. I'd still have Turner on, though. He's a footballer.
  2. I suppose I'm just echoing what most folks are saying. The pitch really hampered us last night and we didn't seem to take account of how bad it was and then to set the team and approach up in light of it being a swamp. I've also been surprised by how much we miss Rudden-even when he wasn't scoring, he was making runs into the box through the defence and rattling the defenders. Graham is clearly just up on his own now and getting not getting the support which Rudden (or someone like Squiddy) would have given. Smith seems to have been given that role but he's not got the pace for that. I also agree about Turner-he can really bring mobility and penetration into a game and is, imo, too good an asset to be sitting on the bench.
  3. They would need to call it off if the pitch is unplayable
  4. He'll call the game off 3 times and then book all the ground staff.
  5. This is what happens when you share your pitch with another pro football team.
  6. Keeping an eye on the OS for updates. I'm not sure even the Magic Pitchfork is going to save this one. I'm crossing all I have as my pal is paying for hospitality and I'm fair looking forward to my mushroom veloute. I just tried to get the mutt outside and even he wasn't having it.
  7. Aye, so guess what idiot with a weak bladder went to the toilet in the JHS at 96 minutes of today's game and was standing drying his hands at the 97th minute when the place erupted. Yep, me. It'll be Jagzone later tonight for me to see the goal.
  8. Think we need him on for the second half.
  9. Bang on, AJ. We need to accept that this won't be an easy game by any means- nae 'Billy Big Boots' stuff. Hopefully, we get the first goal and go on to win. Mon oor Jags.
  10. I gave up after ten minutes. Absolutely dreadful stream quality.
  11. Completely agree. I also think Snedds has to improve his distribution. He often has an option for a quick ball to Foster, Holt etc and if there's a quick move up the park there's an option for an overlap, some width and then a good ball into the box or to Bannigan etc just outside the box. However, he seems to stop and wait for both teams to settle into a mix them kick the ball into a group of about 12 players. Time and again, Rudden or Graham struggle to get the ball because they're surrounded by opposition players. We then give possession away. I just don't understand that as a tactic, if it is a tactic. Add to that the way all players now seem to create a huddle at one wing of the park ( what's that all about?) and the persistence of a long punt up seems pointless.
  12. I didn't know about the exit from Motherwell, so will read up on what happened. Might be pertinent.
  13. Another ref would have shown at least one red card today, possibly two. Some really dangerous tackling indeed.
  14. They should have been down to 9 men and we should have had a penalty. I thought Moyo did well up on his own but they were a bunch of fouling barstewards, imo.
  15. How much did we miss Foster today? Quite a lot, imo. Great result but frustrating performance.
